  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 01:36 PM) For those who haven't seen the Rajai Davis catch yet...... http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...3999512486-1046 Christ! Don't come any better than that.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) It is ridiculous he's in the majors. They desperately need a legit back-up 3b with Youk so banged up. I have to agree but I like the guy. He became a "fan favorite" of my daughter and I at spring training. That said, you're right. Why is he up here?
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) "Matt Thornton's favorite things, which include a 5 gallon gas can, a CPR diagram for his chronic choking, and a fresh roll of 3-ply toilet paper for when he craps down his leg on the pitching mound" LOL! I wouldn't pay 2 cents for his basket right now.
  4. Kind of a "typical" Oakland kinda hit.
  5. QUOTE (YASNY @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) Hawk and Stone are full of it ... GB shouldn't have been sent. He was out by 15 feet. Yeah but you gotta take chances and be aggressive and given Pennington's arm so far today it was a good chance. Just didn't work.
  6. A baserunner...let's do something with it!
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Records through 112: Sox 61-51 Det 60-52 Oak 60-52 Bal 60-52 TB 60-52 LAA 59-53 That's incredibly tight. Wow!
  8. Snodgress with a gem. Trayce 0-5....ouch.
  9. Marvin Hamlisch, who has died aged 68, composed the scores for dozens of films, among them The Sting, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Way We Were and Sophie’s Choice, as well as Broadway shows including A Chorus Line; he won three Oscars, four Emmys, a Tony and even a Pulitzer Prize (for the score of A Chorus Line).
  10. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) I have an A's Frank Thomas jersey that I'm considering whether to wear or not if I go tonight. I forget that Frank played for Oakland. It's like thinking of Shaq as a Celtic.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 6, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) When I was a kid I was at a game in Sept. 1978, the Sox vs. Twins with a whole bunch of September call ups. Larry Doby was the Sox manager and he protested the game because one of the Twins, who had probably just been called up that day, didn't have his name of the back of his uniform. They announced the protest and reason on the PA. The crowd laughed. Haha. I remember that. I watched it on TV, cool that you were there.
  12. I hate 'em all, but I've hated the Cubs for so long it's ridiculous, going back to when Ernie Banks was getting MVP awards. They're my number 1. Sox rivals tend to change over the years so that intense hatred wavers. With the Cubs, it's just a constant deep-rooted non-wavering hate.
  13. Great to see that Trayce has reached .250 and Walker got his 50th SB of the season.
  14. Ugh. I hope to hell Sox bats come alive and pull this out but I'm done with this one. I'm getting too pi$$ed off to watch.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) I swore that Guthrie's owned us on multiple occasions, but he has a 4.52 ERA against us and is only 3-5. I thought the same thing. I guess I only watched those three games that he won.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:49 PM) You must be new around these parts. Literally had me laughing outloud.
  17. Let's make Guthrie's 7.71 E.R.A. even worse.
