  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 06:56 AM) So we have made it through 54 of the 162 games, 108 more to go. I figured I would do my usual grade the players thread today. Go ahead throw your grades out there if you like. For my scale, expectations are a part of the final grade. Players who have higher expectations are graded harder than ones who don't. The C's Adam Dunn- Nice to see the power numbers rebound, but the guy is on pace for 264 K's and average is back into the .220's The D's Gordon Beckham- Awful start, has started to rebound, close to a C because of defense Will Ohman- Peripherals look great, but has had some spectacular fails pitching to anything but lefties. The F' Gavin Floyd- Super inconsistent this year. Great or awful, unfortunately awful has won out most of the season. I get where you're coming from about expectations, but I still think these grades are too low. Floyd gave maybe 4 very good starts. He deserves better than an F and to be lumped in with Danks. Ohman is who he is and ought to be a C. He's just the guy that everybody seems to love to hate. Beckham, I know we all expect better, but I think he has shown enough signs of improvement even before his parents showed up to warrant a C. Dunn deserves a B, period. Enough has already been said about his power returning and his OBP. As far as expectations go, what I'm perhaps happiest about is Ventura. No one knew what to expect, given his total lack of managerial experience and he has done a great job. We're in 1st place. I didn't see that coming.
  2. And now......for the exciting finish. Let's do this, White Sox!!
  3. The pitching and the D today, not so good. I still hope the Sox can pull this one out, despite it all.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) Santiago bailes out Stewart! YEAH!!!
  5. Floyd with 4 good quality innings so far (I'm trying to be positive).
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Time to tie the game this inning So that Floyd can....you know....
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) Gavin Floyd f***ing sucks. ^^^^^^ 4th bad outing in a row, I believe. When he's bad, he's BAD.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 01:36 PM) They need to advertise that you can sneak in food? Now you know that's not what I was alluding to. But if i must......They should ADVERTISE the fact that they're releasing $5 upper deck ticket for TOR series.
  9. This is a funny discussion. Everybody is right. Yes, the White Sox have a small fan base. Yes, the common everyday Joe can't afford to go to games any more. I can barely afford to go to games and when I do I can't afford to eat. I sneak in some snacks and go to Wendy's on the way home. This is a great deal. If I were in the Chicago area, I would definitely be taking advantage it. They need to advertise it! If they don't it wont help to increase attendance much.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:30 AM) Orlando Woolridge, 52 Very saddened to see this. Wow, only 52.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) The next 44 games are going to be tough. Felix, Romero, Wainwright, Lynn, Greinke, Gallardo, Kershaw, Capuano, and CC and Kuroda are possible. We'll also get Samardjia again, which should be fun. Rangers and Jays at home before the break, and 10-game roadtrip right after the break, including 4 at Boston and 3 at Detroit. It's going to be interesting to see what this team does from now until July 22. Peavy and Sale are legit 1-2 starters, but are health concerns. And then we have 3 other starters with ERAs over 5.00, with one of them on the DL. The bullpen has been good enough, but is still very young. The offense has really carried this team the last couple weeks, and that can't sustain forever. At some point, the starting pitching (Humber, Floyd, and Danks) will have to put up consistent quality starts. And when you consider what the Sox will be facing over the next 44 games, those starters better be ready to go once the offense cools off a little. 44-0!!!
  12. Kinda funny no one has even mentioned Brent Morel. Just for the record he was batting 3rd (!) and went 2-5 (singles) with 1 K.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ May 31, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) I've been saying he should replace Fukudome. 2-2, double, walk. Hitting .295. I've been saying that as well.
  14. Wow. It was nerve-wracking...but WAY TO GO ADDISON!!!
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) I got a bad feeling about this Oh...ye of little faith.
