  1. If we traded Javy & Dotel to the Brewers who do you think we could get back in the deal?
  2. After Tex signs w/ Yankees, trade PK to LAA. I would just hate to see JD leave.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 07:16 PM) PK for Figgins would be an absolutely horrendous move. Add to I could very easily see Anaheim resigning Tex and it just doesn't make a lot of sense. Yeah I know, what was KW thinking when he traded Lee for Pods. lol, it's the same idea. Also I would try to sign Punto to replace Uribe.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) Thought I would put this back on the first page...I'm sure those who feel inclined (maybe not tonight...give it a day or two) will chime in with their thoughts as KW approaches the off-season with the goal of somehow getting us back into the playoffs next year without blowing the budget or giving away Aaron Poreda. Sign Hudson, trade PK for Figgins.
  5. WHAT THE HELL!? ONE MORE TIME FOR 08 LET'S GO SOX!!!! FIGHT TILL THE END!
  6. 3 more outs till everyone gets a year older & slower. YAY!
  7. As much as it hurts to see them go down in the series, I must admit I've had a blast this year watching them play. Q/Ramirez/Danks/Floyd WOW! Add some speed w/ good OBP and we'll be good next year again. GO SOX!
  8. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:33 PM) can we atleast get payback for the OC beaning in game 2? Why? He should have been hit in the head. I cannot stand OC.
  9. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) I'm not even upset right now. The White Sox were a good team this year, but not a great one. We are lucky to get this far, and a divisional championship is something to be proud of. It's not like we were a 100 win team with a great rotation and lights out pen. This simply isn't our year. Anyone else feel the same? I do. This year seems like Rays/Dodgers year. BTW there is no way Manny leaves LA.
  10. What does everyone think the Sox should do in the offseason?
  11. Sign Orlando Hudson, trade PK to LAA for Figgins! It' s hard to watch Jr. anymore. It just looks like he could fall apart anytime he swings.
  12. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 12:43 PM) I don't think the Sox have any surplus of anything to trade anywhere in their organization. I would like to see them try to sign Hudson. Keep Ramirez at SS, and Uribe and Getz as utility. The problem is 3B. Fields defense and offense are questionable at this point. I can't really see re-signing Crede. The OF is fine as is. Q, Dye, Anderson, Wise and Swisher OF/1B. Konerko and Thome will return. Needs will be 2B, 3B and 5th starter. That's not bad. They could address all 3 thru free agency. If they do, they could begin to build themselves some nice depth thruout the minor leagues. And, for once, the bullpen will not need re-tooling !!!!!!!!! Actually I would like the Sox to sign Scott Downs to replace Boone.
  13. How do you think we get Figgins? I mean I would LOVE it, but I don't see it. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) I like the idea of signing Baldelli, and having him platoon between CF and DH, kinda like Griff is now. However, if Griff accepts arb (which I wouldn't mind), signing Baldelli wouldn't work unless we traded Swish. But then we would have two glass-men platooning in CF, and that might not be the best idea. I'd also like to see us trade for Figgins (put him at 3B, even though he would be a bit of a defensive liability there), and bring in Hudson to play 2B (3 year deal with option for a 4th). 1. Figgins, 3B 2. Hudson, 2B 3. Quentin, LF 4. Dye, RF 5. Thome, DH 6. Konerko, 1B 7. Ramirez, SS 8. Pierzynski, C 9. Swisher/Baldelli, CF Damn, that'd be a sexy lineup. The 5th spot in the rotation could either be filled within the system or via trade. I don't see us signing any FA's though.
  14. No they start allover again like it never happened before
  15. will this game be on Directv Extra Innings? Since it got rained out I figure it would but I cannot find it anywhere.
  16. QUOTE(2nd_city_saint787 @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) Ive looked through about 75% of this thread and havent seen this link so i thought id post it up. http://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/news/arti...sp&c_id=ana Among the names the White Sox reportedly have interest in are second baseman Howie Kendrick, third baseman Chone Figgins and pitcher Ervin Santana. All three would not be involved in a deal, with Chicago apparently seeking a package of two players. that seems pretty strange to me, if they can get more then 2 players that can help out then why dont they??? if they were gonna get just 2 players from this is how i would do things id pick Kendrick and Figgins this would give you 1. Figgins CF 2. OC SS 3. Swish 1b 4. Thome DH 5. Dye RF 6. Fields 3b 7. AJP C 8. Quentin LF 9. Kendrick 2b (kendrick then moves up to the 2 spot after OC leaves next year) this makes Richar expendable and there are 2 spots i can see that would work for us. The cards can REALLY use infield help they have Adam Kennedy playing 2nd who did nothing last year and is an injury risk...there backup is listed as Brenden Ryan who is also listed as there starting SS, so i think its obvious that they could use Richar. Id shoot a Richar and Floyd for Brandon Thompson who was pretty good down the stretch. or (and i like this much better) does anyone know how high the rookies are on Jayson Nix??? he batted .251 with two home runs, 14 doubles, and 26 RBI in 103 games for the AAA sky sox, that doesnt look like a Major league starting 2b. id shoot a Richar and a reliever for Ubaldo Jimenez or Franklyn Morales deal. The Rockies signed 3 veteran SP (Josh Towers, Mark Redman, and Kip Wells) this off season so im sure theyd like atleast one of them in the rotation so them sending away Jimenez or Morales to upgrade at 2b would make some sense. Also I could be wrong but didnt the rookies pen suck aside from Corpas and Feuntes?? the above lineup with a pitching staff that looks like... 1 Buehrle 2. Vaz 3. Count 4. Danks 5 Thompson or Morales or Jimenez ...could be good for 2nd place and a wild card spot (injuries to some tiger players could win us the central) NO WAY the Rockies do that deal.
  17. This is by far the best Sox site out there! WSI cannot even compare to this site. WSI is way too uptight.
  18. QUOTE(StatManDu @ Jan 6, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) A.J. ON THE WAY 2006: The White Sox signed free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski. Bucking his reputation as a clubhouse cancer, Pierzynski served as a unifying force on the 2005 White Sox. He hit .257 with a career-high 18 home runs and 56 RBIs for the 2005 World Series champion White Sox. In the A.L. Division Series, Pierzynski hit .444 with two home runs and four RBIs as the Sox swept Boston. He homered in the five-game win over the Angels in the American League Championship Series and then hit .267 with three RBIs in the World Series. His performance would earn him the admiration of the Sox fan base, which detested him when he played with Minnesota from 1998 to 2003, and earned him a three-year contract after the season. Didn't AJ sign in 2005?
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) Unless Gio turns into Barry Zito, gives them 200 innings and puts up an ERA in the low 3's for 5 straight years, I think he's a fair price for Swisher. DLS is the only one that worries me in that he could project higher, but who knows right now. I feel the same about DLS.
  20. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) Yeah no doubt. He's no Hughes or Kershaw thats for sure. We'll find another Gio. Exactly! I'm glad Billy Beane reads BA. Nick will great for this team, and Jim Parque Jr. won't be more than a #4 or #5.
  21. I just read on this site that the Sox are listen to offers on Paul Konerko. It lists the Giants as a possible destination. I've been reading this site now for a while and they don't just throw up any rumor on their site. Discuss http://mlb-rumors.blogspot.com/
