  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) Maybe it's just the fathom in me speaking, but even when we were up 3-1, it just felt like waiting for the other shoe to drop with the Sox. It always seems that way when we play the Cubs. SOmething crazy is going to happen.
  2. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) That much I agree with. That was just a bizarre call, with a struggling reliever late in a close game. It wasn't the difference, but it was just a poor decision. It was like Ozzie said f*** IT, we lost this one. So maybe I can teach McDoofus something. Ya Ozzie, you showed him he doesn't know how to pitch.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) Even though I have no problem with his argument today, his verbal immaturity with Mike North got him one step closer to the exit door though. He needs to show some professionalism....and I'm sure KW just loved his comments today. It was a great thing to see/hear from the most visible leader of the organization.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) Ah yes, the old Garland was mentally abused by Manuel argument. I guess it has nothing to do with Garland's maturity, as well as his improved command. It was so sad that I donated when they had the telethon.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) Brought in MacDougal to face a switch-hitter. Coming into today, MacDougal was allowing lefty hitters to hit him at a .417 clip. If you're going to bring him in, then let him face Theriot. ^^^^^^ DING DING DING DING Did Ozzie do his homework to know this? Or was he busy thinking of his next insult for Jay Mariotti?
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) We're hearing that a few too many times this year....even though I still think Ozzie has managed much better than he did last year. Everybody gets lucky sometime. ... like the Cubs did today.
  7. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) The same reason Dempster was in after blowing a 4 run lead yesterday, or that Ozzie kept showing faith in Vazquez to try to get him over the 5th and 6th inning "hump." A player who knows the manager has no confidence in him is dead to the team (see Anderson, Brian). So bring him in next inning with the bases empty to build his fragile confidence. IMO, the conifdence issue is bulls***. If you are in the big leagues and don't think you belong, go home.
  8. Even the biggest Ozzie supporters have trouble supporting his non-sense today.
  9. Manegerial talent was the problem to day - Why bring in McDoofus to throw batting practice to the Cubs when h has been awful almost all year. I would have rather seen CLiff Politte back. It is basically the same thing.
  10. Hopefully Ozzie now realizes the McDougal is not good at pitching this year and either puts him in the back of the bullpen or gives him a spot on the DL or his home with Cliff Politte. McDougal the Gas Can sickens me. I wish the puking smiley was still around.
  11. Mike McDoofus 2007 = Politte and Cotts 2006 = Marte 2005 = feces
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) How about we just don't trade for anymore players from KC. There's a reason they have a history of losing over the last decade. The thing is, MacDougal is brutal against lefties. He should have been brought in to face Theriot if he was going to come in at all. ^^^^^^^^' There is a reason a pitcher is in Kansas City. It is because they SUCK.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) Can we just fire KW and Ozzie? Great job by KW of upgrading the bullpen this offseason like he stated he would. Bringing in McDoofus in the situation when McDoofus has been un-clutch all year certainly should make your list. Why does Ozzie insist on bringing the guy in? I would have prefered Masset.
  14. McDOugal needs to get the CLiff Politte treatment and be banished to the DL for the rest of the season. WTF is wrong with this guy???
  15. Right now I hate Mike McDoofus almost as much as I hate Ozzie for putting him in for a clutch situation.
  16. QUOTE(ROC Sox Fan @ May 16, 2007 -> 06:44 PM) Game delayed until 7:30 tentively according to the YES network. Doesn't Steinbrener control the weather? You think he would have offered $25 mil to Tom Skilling to keep the weather clear for all Yankee games.
  17. I will be surprised if they get this in. ... Besides, doesn't JR usually cancel Sox games when the Bulls are in the playoffs.
  18. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 13, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Sweeney is a stud, and could be the top spect on a lot of teams, so don't diss him... I wasn't "dissing" him, though it could be seen that way. I am actually a fan of Sweeney and think he might be our all star rep. I was only suggesting that there is not much after Sweeney.
  19. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 13, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) overreact much? Watch baseball much?
  20. There are going to be a lot of these loser threads in the next week, so get used to it. With the Cubs throwing two lefties and Zamboner at us this weekend, we may as well not even show up at Wrigely to save ourselves the embarassment. The only way we win a game this next week is if KW pulls his head out of his ass and decides that some changes might necessary. Maybe he should consider prying his ass cheeks apart and parting with one of out "elite" pitching prospects if it gets us some offense in return. If Sweeney is the best that our minor leagues have to offer, the downslide has only just begun. I know the offense will come around. But to those that say that, I say "Excuses are like ass holes, we all have them, and they all stink."
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 13, 2007 -> 03:55 PM) Are they changing the rule that requires the other team to bat. No the Yanks will spot us a run in all three games and Buehrle will throw two no-hitters.
  22. Don't worry the offense will come around ... Still waiting.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ May 13, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) We don't get our ass kicked very much at all. It happens, not a big deal from the pitching side. It's just the offense is worse than we give it credit for. You're right, we rarely get our ass kicked. It is much more light getting sodomized by uncooked spaghetti noodles.
