  1. Headlines in Boston tomorrow Clemens Tied to Al Qaida; Banned from MLB
  2. Molina is going 4 for 4 today with 5 homers. He will homer twice in one at bat. Then Ozzie will put him back on the bench for the rest of the year.
  3. Not to say anything, but give his happy ass a drug test.
  4. SHould have kept the mojo going with yesterday's line up for a second day. With Molina (assuming he exists) replacing A.J.'s red hot bat, we have aready lost.
  5. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 4, 2007 -> 06:13 PM) I just noticed the Sox are playing Pittsburgh and Houston in interleague again. Makes no sense, why can't we play the Brewers? I said the same thing when the schedules came out. Now that the Brewers are the hottest team in baseball, I like the fact that we do not play the Brewers this year while our division rivals (like the Twins playing them twice) do.
  6. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 5, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) I know, but you don't want to risk him making it worse, especially right away. I think it would be best to just see how he progresses over a week or so in side throwing sessions, and when Thome comes back, then demote Gustavo. I will agree only if Boone comes back when Gustavo goes back down ... forever.
  7. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 5, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws Looks like he can be back in a real soon, which would be huge. If it was me however, I would activate Hall and option Logan to AAA right away. But, I would have Hall be nothing more then the DH. Keep Gustavo to be the backup Catcher. Hall can hit, he has taken numerous batting practice sesions with no pain and can still hit like he used to. But the throwing part is what is scary. And then when Thome comes back, Hall will be able to throw normal, and Gustavo can be sent down. Gustavo is a wasted roster spot since he never plays. He may as well be demoted now. Boone has been ok. ... The throwing part does worry me, but it is not like A.J. throws out a ton of runners.
  8. Liberty, f*** YEAH! White Sox, f*** YEAH! The Alamo, f*** YEAH! Band-aids, f*** YEAH! Las Vegas, f*** YEAH! Christmas, f*** YEAH! Immigrants, f*** YEAH! Columbine, f*** YEAH! Democrats, f*** YEAH! Republicans ????????? (f*** yeah, f*** yeah)
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) I think Fox just sped up their radar gun for that pitch. Fox does that for Republican pitchers.
  10. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ May 5, 2007 -> 05:34 PM) I miss Dick Allen in clutch situations. Maybe somewhere down the road the Sox can have a Dick Allen statue added to the outfield concourse. It would be done in the likeness of his Sports Illustrated cover. Would that do?
  11. Anybody else wondering how we will manage to snatch defeat from the elusive jaws of victory in this game?
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 5, 2007 -> 02:23 PM) Erstad, CF Ozuna, DH Dye, RF Konerko, Pierzynski, C Iguchi, 2B Crede, 3B Cintron, SS Sweeney, LF Why is Ozuna our DH? Why is Iguchi batting 6th? I am going to have to defend Ozzie on this one. Nobody in this line up can hit. He may as well pull names out of a hat to make his batting order.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 5, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) Who would be worth more -- a great Buehrle (possibly a rent-a-player), or a decent Garland/Contreras under contract through 2008? That is kind of my thinking. If we truly committ to blowing this thing up, there are no untouchables. Pitchers under longer and cheaper contacts should fetch quite a package.
  14. In addition to these other thoughts, it might be a good time to see what we can get for Count. If we are not going anywhere, I would like to see what our minor league surplus of arms can do. While his age goes up, his effectiveness has gone down.
  15. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ May 5, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) Start Ozuna at SS then. It is his natural position, yet I am not sure he has played there as a White Sox. ... Based on his, Ozzie will have him at catcher today.
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 5, 2007 -> 10:07 AM) ...even for me, that's going to far. This kid has had a near-picture-perfect swing since he entered the system and has had under 50 big-league at-bats. Methinks this is far too small of a sample size to be making any comparisons to anyone--let alone Brian Anderson. Beat me to it. Incidently, would John Cangelosi consider a comeback as our standing LF?
  17. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 5, 2007 -> 09:50 AM) Scores for the next 3 days; Angels 6 Sox 2 ----Escobar 7 scoreless Angels 5 Sox 1 -----Lackey 8 innings 1 run Angels 3 Sox 0 ----Colon 7 shutout innings ---Back end of Angels bullpen gets some work for first time in series and retires all six batters they face, 5 by strike-out. I also think if Santana doesn't pitch, the Sox sweep the Twins in the dome next week. FWIW ... And then in the ultimate insult, we get swept by the Cubs.
  18. Just to be nasty, I vote for Ron Kittle instead of Bonds.
  19. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 5, 2007 -> 09:41 AM) I doubt KW and JR will eat $5 million in contracts this early in the season, especially when we have nobody in AA and AAA that can do any better than Cintron or Mack. While agree that JR will not just eat the contracts, do you really think we don't have somebody in Triple A or Double A capable of hitting .050 (Citron) in the big leagues? Even Brian Anderson could do that.
  20. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 5, 2007 -> 12:45 AM) In honor of the 5th of May, we will lose 5-0. You give too much credit to suggest we will score 0 runs. I suggest a score of 5 to -13. Let the suckfest continue, Anorexia Ball 2007,
