  1. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) One of my friends just told me that the other day in Detroit, someone puled the fire alarm at the hotel that the magic and the sox were staying at at 3 am...anyone else hear this? The city has to run drills in anticipation of the city starting on fire if the Pistons win the NBA Championship.
  2. It took the Sox a time around the line-up (except to Erstad) to pick up on the masterful pitching of Meche. The sad thing is that Erstad probably has more career Ab's against Meche than anybody in our line up.
  3. Teams need to consider a shift for Erstad. Play everybody but the pitcher, 1B, and catcher near the second base position.
  4. I can't believe we have not talk about this year. Prior and Wood have a combined ERA of 0.00 this year. But wait til they have to face this Sox offense.
  5. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) what is more inept than the white sox offense i cant think of anything Ron Santo.
  6. I hate KC. This s*** always seems to happen when we play them. The White Sox forget how to either hit, pitch, play defense, or a combination of the three.
  7. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) your choice of a brian anderson blow up doll, or darrin erstad signed rookie card. Can I trade them both in for Timo Perez's Silver Slugger Award?
  8. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:13 PM) Its too late in the season for Erstad versus Anderson threads. Lets get the Griffey Jr/ Andruw Jones threads going Umm ... Ichiro? Or maybe Tampa is actually ready to trade an outfielder.
  9. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) All of you who think Anderson belongs in AAA... join my club? :-) I am confused. Your club seems to be endorsing Anderson doing three different things at once. AAA, CF, and Traded. What if I wanted him in LF when Pods gets sent down?
  10. This is such an exciting game, it has become another Erstad v. Anderson thread. Yippee!!!
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) Totally granted. I'd just say that Erstad's 6 years of pretty poor hitting should come into the discussion at some point as well. To be truthful, I am not understand the Anderson love v. Erstad hate. They both have positive and negatives. Yet I think people here forget how miserable BA looked at the plate at times last year and see Anderson replacing Erstad as a solution. I just do not think that is realistic. If we get .260 out of CF, most of us will be happy unless it is Ken Griffey Jr.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) There's a difference between saying that you block out much of BA's offense last year, which even I'll grant was bad, and saying that he never started to hit, which was simply untrue. He did start to hit, just not consistently across the season. It sure did seem like he never hit anything. Though I would say 4 month of no hitting > 2 months of no hitting.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) Brian Anderson in: AVG OBP SLG OPS July .313 .328 .469 .797 August .296 .367 .437 .804 That's right, he did have that 2 month hot streak. Too bad the season is six months long. As I said, I block out much of BA's offense from last year.
  14. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) Erstad has already gotten more hits than I can remember Brian getting all year Personally, I have tried to block out all of Brian Anderson's at-bats from last year.
  15. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:47 PM) You're serious? In a word, yes. Though not completely. Erstad may yet hit this year. Anderson never hit last year.
  16. QUOTE(46bearsd @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) if only we had an entire team of juan uribes...but then of course they would all call each other off Sounds like a Catch 22
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 07:42 PM) My dad and I were just talking and have a question. I watch a TON of Sox games, as much as I can, but does anyone remember Hawk and DJ just flat out saying the Sox hitters were not hitting a bad pitcher making bad pitches? I believe it would be a cold day in hell before that happens. The closest I remember was Hawk saying during Crede's first season, "He's a scufflin'".
  18. Shouldn't Mike Sweeney be on the DL already this year?
  19. It would be great to see the Sox score some runs without the benefit of a home run. That would be really novel. ... And now for something completely different ...
  20. Does Konerko plan on looking like a hitter this year?
  21. Follow the Guillenian math: Erstad's offense 2007 = Anderson's offense 2006 Anderson 2007 playing time = Ross Gload
  22. Al Hrabosky, The Mad Hungarian. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Greg Luzinski Indeed.
  23. Thanks for the explanation. I'm glad that I am not the only one that thinks this is a little messed up.
  24. Forgive my "un-knowing-ness", but I am not much of a basketball fan and you guys seem pretty knowledgeable. How is it that the Bulls are the lower seed (5), yet have homefield advantage vs a 4th seed. I know there is a lot of complaining about the seeding method, but I have not heard this explained.
