With all the people calling for Ozzie's head, I was wonder how long it would take people to start calling for Mike North's buddy Don Cooper to be fired. Oh the humanity!

Is it time to change the title to this post to Pods Must Go: Ozzie and KW please read. Or should we just call this AntiPodsTalk.com ?

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) Time to bench Prancer Podsednik, stick BA in center and Erstad in left field. I really think if Pods went 0 for April, Ozzie might still not bench him. The fact that we have to even consider this thought saddens me.

White Sox vs. Indians, 4/4/07 (L)

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) Just because we knew it was going to happen doesn't mean it should have been the move that was made. He did nothing to earn his job last year or this spring yet Oz still makes him his starting LF. It's just annoying that a player can be so completely inept and still be handed a major league starting job and a $2.9M contract. I really think that having a speedy lead off man is an obsession for Ozzie and KW. Remember Ozzie's lust for Juan Pierre and players for his mold. Of course, now that Pods would finish second in a race with Ron Santo and still can't get on base ... Judy Barr Tipinca Ozzie Guillen, what was she thinking? -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) We can beat Sowers. It would also help if Buehrle and tomorrow's other pitchers give up less than 12 or 8 runs -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Don't worry, people will use the injury excuse to defend him. There's two things in this world that puzzle me: 1) How is Keith Richards still alive 2) Why did the Sox bring back Pods FIXED -

I'm really having a lot of trouble blaming our hitting for these losses. 5 and 7 runs are supposed to win ball games, not having you playing catch-up. The starting pitching has been awful. For everybody that is blaming Ozzie for the hittingand saying fire Ozzie, why isn't anybody saying fire Cooper? Our pitching, starting and relief, was not there in the spring and still has not showed up. -
Interesting Philly article on Garcia, many quotes

IMO, I really think Freddy is not going to get as much money as he thinks he deserves next offseason. I say this not because I dislike any and all former Sox players, but velocity dropping + 1 sore arm already this year = not good. He has been a horse, but in time a horse's legs wear out. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 12:12 PM) I know he's typically seen as a Cubs guy, but, I'd love to have Steve Stone do TV or radio for the Sox. He's just really good at it. Stone >>>>>> farmio -

I am more concerned about the final grades in October. But right now, the grades look like Chris Farley's in Tommy Boy. -
QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 06:16 AM) Well, I don't think it's a rebuilding year exactly. There are still too many older players for me to call it that. Replacing Anderson with Erstad kind of belies the idea of rebuilding, IMO. I just don't know if the Sox will hit enough to overcome would could very well be a mediocre rotation. Perhaps not total rebuilding, as in the white flag trade sense, but wait til the all star break. At that point we can trade an all-star for somebody of Jon Adkins quality.
-
... and to think I got attached here a few months back when I said this would be a rebuilding here. Reality check.

Normally the mods are pretty good about removing this type of rubbish from Soxtalk.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) Is he really homeless? How long's he been at his act? These are question nobody has been able to answer for me. What does Ronnie do for a living? How does he afford to go to these games? On a separate note, I find most Cub fans even think he is a nuisance.

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Perhaps we can coax Ron Karkovice out of retirement. I bet he would be one helluva back up 1st baseman. -
A suggestion to the Mods. Can we pin this to the top and title it "As the World Turns: Prior/Wood injuries 2007". That way we do not have to start a new post each time one of these two "pitchers" gets injured. I suspect we may save memory on the server as well since it would prevent separate posts for the next seven times they get injured and have to throw simulated games or snap a towel.

I can't see KW breaking the bank for one player, much less JR allowing him to do so. ARod's next team might see him as breaking Aaron's/Bonds's HR record. It might be a good financial investment, but it does not = winning championships.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 05:29 PM) And is we have a 5th starter who sucks, does that cost us the division if we need 95 wins ? If we can not get 10-12 wins out of the 5th starter, we may be looking at 4th place. We certainly will not be a viable contender with a 2004-type rotation.
