And this person is still your friend why? Do you like hanging out with idiots? Or do you just feel sorry for the bonehead?

What are your Game 4 plans?
Art Vandelay replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm either going to Durbin's in Burbank or staying home...depends on whether I can last. I'm operating on about 5 hrs of sleep over the past 2 nights. -
Anybody admitting to listening to Journey???

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I've been listening to Dont' stop believing pretty constantly. . . Other than that I really dont' know any Journey songs (maybe Open Arms, but that's more because Mariah Carey covered it when I was in junior high. . .). Her version sucks, IMO. -
QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) hopefully 2 nights ago's game will get higher ratings... actually i guess i really don't give a f*** to tell you the truth...i just hate the b****ing of the networks, you paid for the WS realizing that you might not always get the matchup you want...this isn't the superbowl with a guaranteed huge share, you still have to fight against primetime shows. Amen....what a bunch of whiners!

Anybody admitting to listening to Journey???
Art Vandelay replied to Kid Gleason's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I've always liked Journey. I don't give a s*** what anyone else thinks. If I did, I'd be a Cubs fan. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) Don't fall for their bulls***, every single Cub fan in their dark, bitter hearts is rooting against us. I hear the roars go up in the bars every time the Astros do something good and it ain't from Astros fans. Yeah but what are they gonna do after this series is over with all those Astros caps they bought??

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) and why the hell is this an available smiley option, just out of curiosity? It must be for all those English soccer fans on this board.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Not that there's anything wrong w/ that.

I got it!! To counter their "Killer Bees" theme, make a sign that says "BUZZ OFF--This is OUR year!!" I love it!!

Hawk Harrelson. Oh wait, wrong kind of homer.
-
No because if you move Gooch then you probably move Crede as well, who is hitting very well where he's at. And now that we're at an NL park, a solid bat in the lower part of the order will really come in handy.

Personally, I'd still have to see it to believe it. You have to remember 2 things. 1) Anyone can make a statement like that, being 99% sure that it won't be an immediate issue. Fortunately for us, the 1% chance came true. Now I don't recall exactly when Ozzie made that statement, but it sure as hell wasn't when the Sox were a stone's throw from a World Series, and 2) Ozzie is such a competitor. After this season, it's in his blood. I say he stays. But hell, I've been wrong before.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) I'd even let you hold the remote. was that gay? Thanks, bud... No it wasn't all that gay!

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) McCarver is another anti Sox f***ball. After Pods hit his HR, he was silent for a few seconds, then sighed and said: "why do these things happen?" Oh, I know!! My brother and I were yelling at the tv, "f*** YOU ASSHOLE!!" What a dickhead he is!

As Hawk would say...."MERCY!!"

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) now that is some good s***. Read the open letter to cubs fans on their front page and laugh. LMAO--that was hilarious!!

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) Went to my highschool... only person to make it pro in any sport from reavis. No s***? I went to Reavis too...Class of '89. -
QUOTE(Linnwood @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) Steve Perry, former lead singer of the rock band Journey, meets Joe Crede, Aaron Rowand and AJ Pierzynski. Holy crap...I didn't know they got him to come down in person. Like Journey or not, under the circumstances that's pretty cool!

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Why is that funny? They will definitely be one of the teams in the running for him. If they don't sign one of furcal, giles, damon, etc... i will be shocked as hell. They have to bring a big name to get the fans excited again. What they shoould actually be looking for is lot of bullpen help... theirs is rather bleak at this point. I guess you'd have to know these people the way I do to appreciate the humor. Every year they completely fixate on one player they swear the Cubs are going to get (e.g. Carlos Beltran, Scott Rolen), and every year the Cubs don't get that player.

I have a couple of Cub fan friends (don't ask why) who seem to think they are going to get Johnny Damon. Yeah. I laughed too.

I totally agree with Seinfeld (gee, there's a shocker, huh?) And I'm sorry but Frasier was f***ing hilarious. But I admit, you had to have some patience in the early going as the characters developed. It ended up being about two psychiatrists who acted all snobby and worldly but ultimately had only book smarts, leaving a lot to be desired in the "street smarts" department. That made for some really funny situations in which the people around them brought them back down to earth and humbled them. It won many awards, and very deservedly, IMO. But, that's why we all have our own opinions. The world would be a pretty f***ing boring place if we all liked the same things!!

I don't have any numbers in front of me, but from my memory I know that the Sox have had some success against Clemens (and I think Petitte as well). I'm more worried about Oswalt because I don't think many of our guys have seen him.

Congrats! I also work for a sinking ship....also looking for another job. I envy you

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) Crede or Thomas I'm done with getting jerseys (with names, at least), I've gotten burned too often, in every sport, it's almost impossible to predict if a guy will be here in the next 5 years or rather someone will be a franchise player. Here, here!
