  1. Wow, it's when I read things like that where I immediately get goosebumped and teary eyed.
  2. Minutes after I started a Blum thread last night...it gone. What's the deal? I being persecuted by the Soxtalk community.
  3. I admire you persistence. Kinda reminds me of when I called up Doritos because my jackass friend insisted that Cooler Ranch came before Nacho Cheese. Obviously, my phone call ended on a happier note than yours. Go Sox.
  4. QUOTE(valponick @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) I Tivo'ed all of the games in HD, ripped them onto my computer and dubbed the radio audio over and made my own DVD's...they are amazing. Wow. I bet it took some serious technological expertise to synchronize the picture with Ed and John's radio play-by-play. Is there a delay at all or were you able to line them up? If you did synchronize them, that's SO awesome. Any chance you could put those DVDs on the internet or burn some more and send them to me? I'd seriously pay you.
  5. i think ill be going to tucson while all the other college coeds go to mtv spring break in bumblef***, florida
  6. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) June (you can save to your PC) Awesome. A.J.'s walk-off never gets old...
  7. I want the next one more than I wanted the first one. Let's not get complacent. Let's start a f***ing dynasty on the South Side circa '96 Yankees. I would love nothing more than to win another won...and maybe another one.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) $12.5M per sounds good from the Sox point of view, not so much for Paul. Also, it doesn't appear 4 years will be enough. Do you think this is as high and as long as the Sox will go? I hope not. Based on what Anaheim offers, I think we should give him five years at $65 million. If he doesn't like that, we don't need him.
  9. in the article he also mentions the yankees diamondbacks series of 2003...this kid sucks
  10. For four years, I've dealt with the obnoxiousness known as Yanks-Red Sox at Georgetown University in Washington DC. Despite the Pale Hose victory this fall, the jagbag who wrote the article below really tickled my pickle. He proved that any stroke can write for a collegiate publication. His article... http://www.thehoya.com/sports/102805/sports9.cfm And my response... http://www.thehoya.com/viewpoint/110105/view3.cfm I think I tore this guy a new one.
  11. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) In the back of the first sports page. http://www.mustangmods.com/data/5495/soxchamps.jpg Pretty sweet, huh? Awesome. What a year. I f***ing love the Sox.
  12. I think Paulie has positioned himself well to get what he wants from the Sox. I mean, if Paulie says he wants five years, $65 million and Kenny tells him that he needs to talk to Jerry first - you don't think Jerry will remember that moment at the parade when Paulie gave him the ball??? I know Reinsdorf is a shrewd businessman, but I think that - from that moment on - him and Kenny realized that Paulie needs to stay. When Kenny talks about wanting "a certain type of guy" for his team-oriented concept, Konerko embodies that. He's our captain and, honestly, I'll be shocked if he goes elsewhere. As a wise man once said, "I've got a bonerko for Konerko."
  13. Can we put this thread in the Soxtalk Hall of Fame as longest ever?? 168 pages...and counting...
  14. damn i wish they didnt hit paulie i thought he was gonna go yard
  15. Everyone stop f***ing b****ing. We're gonna get that f***ing run back so stop second f***ing guessing Ozzie. God damn. He has faith in his pen. Lamb (or whoever hit that double) hit a good pitch. Hermy looked good out there. Someone will go deep and Jenks will K the side.
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) NOTRE DAME????????????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I never knew about the ND thing. Kinda cool...if you like ND like me.
  17. Strike 3 to Garland was WAY low...so was strike 2 to Pods.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Do the Astros have more black people on their team or in the stands tonight? It's pretty amazing. Ha! I was just thinking about how white-bred these mustachioed Texans look. Houston's got nothing on Chicago.
  19. I b**** about Buck and McCarver because I have to listen to them if I wanna watch the game. I can get John and Ed on the computer but it's delayed at least 10 seconds. If you guys are in the Chicagoland area, turn down the TV volume and get John and Ed rockin'!
  20. McCarver on Oswalt: "When Roy throws the ball, he drops and drives. What does that mean? Well, he drops, then drives. It's that simple." And how 'bout McCarver and Buck siding with the 'Stros as far as the roof controversy. If I was back home right now, the TV volume would be down and Ed and John would be way up.
  21. the houston fans are just not doing it for me right now. WAAAAAY better crowd back in chicago. let's jump on this jagbag early. go sox.
  22. I drink Strohl's (then cross it out and write...) 'Stros for breakfast.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Is this the thread where I talk about how awesome it was to be at both games this weekend? Ouch.
  24. I came home for Georgetown University in Washington DC to watch Game 1...on TV. I have a lot of friends who have ridiculous seats on account of them being season ticket holders. I was kinda hoping someone might step it up and take me considering I came all the way home for the game, but I realized that these tickets were just too hot to be giving away. Anyways, I ended up watching the game at Morgan's on Roosevelt and Halsted and the place was absolutely electric. Jam packed...people banging cow bells, we were banging on the walls chanting anything from "BERNIE! BERNIE! BERNIE!" for Bernie Mac...to "SCOTTY! SCOTTY! SCOTTY!"...to "PAULIE! PAULIE! PAULIE!"...to The "Let's Go Go-Go White Sox" song. I felt like I was at the game and I felt a lot less sorry for my ticketless self. Any other stories of ticketless folks making the best of it? I like to tell myself that there are bigger tragedies in the world than me not being at a baseball game. Go Sox.
