  1. This team has enough bad hitters in the lineup, the last thing we need is Anderson playing everyday. The month of May he hit .158 with a .200 obp and this is the guy you want playing everyday? 488 lifetime at bats and you have a career .219 hitter with a .278 obp....I want to see this Anderson designated for assignment not playing....
  2. This from mlbtraderumors....of course they aren't reliable but who really is... Brian Anderson Trade Near? Between Ozzie Guillen's words and actions, it's safe to say he does not like Brian Anderson. I don't know if it's BA's attitude or something else, but he's had his chance and he's not getting another one with the White Sox. He did get 365 ABs last year, so you can't say he didn't get a legitimate shot. Anderson seemed to be making some progress offensively in July and August of '06, but regressed in September. Nathaniel Whalen of the Daily Southtown reads between the lines, and thinks a change of scenery might make sense here. Anderson's minor league record is still contributing to a healthy PECOTA projection: .265/.324/.447. That's pretty good for a CF, especially if he's a plus defender. In the past, the Giants and Rangers have inquired about Anderson. I feel like the Marlins did too, but can't find a record of it. The Fish in particular can afford to let Anderson develop at the big league level. Perhaps the Padres, A's, or Nationals would get involved as well. They haven't been major deals, but Jim Bowden has been Kenny Williams's most frequent trading partner over the years.
  3. They will all be traded by June when we are toiling along in fourth place...The only part of the team we improved was the bullpen, and with our starters being worse the bullpen will just get overworked!
  4. Id much rather get Baldelli to play center then Rowand.....its not even close!
  5. Per Rotoworld.... White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Ron Mackowiak wouldn't play any center field next season. Mackowiak rarely played anywhere but center last season, as Guillen chose to go with Alex Cintron whenever an infielder needed a day off. Mackowiak make 62 starts in the field last season and 51 came in center. Nine of the remaining 11 came in the outfield corners. Guillen has a history of saying things in the offseason and then changing his mind once the games begin to count. He has the right idea now -- Mackowiak is a far better choice at third and the outfield corners than he is in center -- but old habits are hard to break.
  6. Phillies GM Pat Gillick is reportedly willing to send Aaron Rowand and either Ryan Madson or Gavin Floyd to the White Sox for Freddy Garcia. It'd be a fair trade for both teams. We prefer the White Sox's side -- both Mark Buehrle and Javier Vazquez are more valuable properties than Garcia in our eyes -- but the Phillies probably wouldn't lose all that much going from Rowand to Shane Victorino. More rotoworld
  7. Didn't the Tigers refuse to give up Sanchez for Soriano last year.....could have won them a world series! Now they get an old busted up Sheffield and have him for three years....interesting!
  8. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Nov 2, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) Rick Hahn was on the score yesterday and he pretty much confirmed that BMac WILL be in the rotation next year. He also confirmed that one of the starters will be traded to make room for him. So unless TB wants Contreras, Vazquez or Garcia we WONT get Crawford. As talented as Crawford is, this team doesn't need him to get to the next level. WHat I expect to happen based on reading articles and from your awesome money charts is for KW to trade Garcia (whome has the highest value out of the 3 I mentioned) and most likely Uribe as his defense attracts many teams around the league for a guy like Michael Young (a guy Hahn, KW and Ozzie absolutely LOVE). Texas needs pitching also and with a defensive shortstop who is cabable of hitting 20+ HRs a season they wouldn't be getting screwed from this deal in any stretch of the imagination. From there they can FINALLY plug BMac into the rotation and then go ahead and sign either Pierre or Roberts to fill that LF/lead off role that we missed last season. Hmmm but what will they do with Pods?!? I truley believe KW can find a solid reliever for him. Many teams are desperate for a speedy OFer. And despite his 2006 dissapointing season, many teams will show interest in him this offseason. From there they can find one more reliever via free agency and we shall be set. Your 2007 White Sox: Pierre or Roberts LF Young SS Dye RF Thome DH Konerko 1B Iguchi 2B Crede 3B AJ C Anderson CF Rotation: Buerhle, Garland, Contreras, Vazquez, McCarthy Bullpen: Jenks, Mac, Thorton, Cotts, (reliever for Pods) (reliever free agency or Haegar) Bench: Pretty much the same. We may see Cintron be apart of a deal also, then KW can bring Willy Harris back. As then Willy Harris can bring GROUP 4 back! Thats what i expect to happen and im sticking to it GO SOX in 2007 Micheal Young is an absolute stud....I think it would be a miracle if we were able to get him for Garcia and Uribe.... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=4566
  9. Pick a leadoff hitter out of the bunch then......I just threw that out there because the guys we have aren't doing the job.... Unfortuanately none of this is even going to matter because it will never happen. If it didn't happen all year it won't start now or next year. They will probably overpay for Juan Pierre so Ozzie can have his new speedy leadoff guy that can barely get it out of the infield and can't throw in the outfield at all! One last thing Pods gets paid to be a leadoff hitter and to have a good OBP and to steal none of which he can do anymore.....Cintron has never been in that situation so maybe he could improve on it.....We already know Pods can't!
  10. Our manager sucks thats why......I would have loved Gload in left and Cintron at short and leading off but that would have been too easy....We need to platoon fast speedy guys in left that can't hit, field or even steal anymore just so we can pretend we have a leadoff hitter......and Ozzie's love for Uribe is down right sick!
  11. Watching Anderson, Uribe and Pods play everyday give me a headache! Not having anyone better to replace them all makes it worse!
  12. Samples that small? Thats about every single situation there is.....How should they not be looked into any further.....he simply hasn't been good and there isn't any reason for Ozzie or anyone else to say he has been......here is a list of everything for you to look at.....if this looks good to you then you don't know what good is...... 13. Look at these great numbers....... Anderson with 0-2 count batting .097 31 ab's at 0-2 struck out 18 times Anderson with 1-2 count batting .164 55 ab's at 1-2 struck out 34 times Anderson with 2-2 count batting .143 42 ab's at 2-2 struck out 21 times Anderson with 3-2 count batting .211 19 ab's at 3-2 struck out 8 times Leads off an inning batting .185 Batting with a runner on second .208 Batting with a runner on third .111 Batting with first and second .188 Batting with first and third .200 Batting with bases loaded .000 Batting with men on and 2 out .190 Batting with runners in scoring pos with 2 outs .189 Batting with runners in scoring pos season .208 The only two situations he batted well were with second and third and with man on third and less then two outs!
  14. I said Uribe has been terrible all year im pretty sure that would count. Remember the guy asked him about BA not Uribe or Pods or whatever else is wrong with this team. Just because BA has hit .285 doesn't mean he has helped us any. His average got better but he isn't a real threat at all. Half of his at bats he just gets overmatched and doesn't even have any fight at all. Good morning, good afternoon, and good night! Not good quality at bats at all......again why the man love for a guy hitting .233 with an obp of .299 with 7hr and 32 rbis......plus 81 ks in 335 ab's.....yuck if this is what makes you happy then we deserve to be a third place team! Royce Clayton was able to play great defense and batted just like Anderson and yet he was run out of town......get off the golden boy already!
  15. Im with Greg on this one and Ozzie too....BA has had terrible at bats all year long. Even when he has been better and raised his average up to .234 he still has terrible at bat after terrible at bat. Im not sure why there is so much man love for him. He is a good fielder and a very suspect hitter at best.......and I never agree with anything Ozzie does or says but he definitely shouldn't be happy with what Brian has done! Mack playing center has been terrible. This guy is a utility player and thats it...he shouldn't ever be in center. Unfortunately this team was put together without a real CF or LF....Platooning Mack with BA and Pods with Pablo is a disgrace for a team defending the world series! Uribe has been terrible all season as well. Why Cintron didn't get to play over him ill never know. This team can't afford to have Uribe, Anderson and Pods all in the lineup.....no team can with how useless Pods and Uribe have become! I for one really hope we can get a starting CF and a starting LF for next year. If BA goes on to another team I won't be upset. Ive seen enough of him at the plate to think he might never get the job done consistently. This platooning lefties and righties is good if you want to be a third place team!
  16. Liriano out of the game in the top of the third with another injury!
  17. We had this guy on the ropes in the fifth inning....He looked like he was finished and we were ready to take over the game.....At this point Thome gets our seventh hit......and for some reason Cora runs us out of the inning with Konerko coming up....Javy has his normal sixth inning blowup giving up the lead again and we are history!
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) Or a prelude to a blockbuster. If this is the end of a deal someone should request KDub pee in a cup. Wow this trade would be pretty big....so what are you saying this leads us to a Soriano for A Rod trade? Wouldn't that be funny if that trade happened again.....lol
  19. Maybe....just maybe Ozzie was mad Jon threw at him.....Maybe he told him not too.......
  20. If Vazquez knew AJ got drilled on purpose the first time....which he said he did......then he should have drilled the first Ranger he saw. Ozzie could have told him to just focus on getting the guys out first and to find a spot later to retaliate. By the time he pitches poorly and we are down 5-0, AJ gets drilled again and now we get a warning as well......basically taking him out of drilling anyone without a suspension......If it didn't go this way and he just didn't retaliate then I lose all respect for him and he doesn't belong being part of this team! Now on to Tracey.....I don't care how many big league games you've played in, you defend your teammates period. If you are told to drill Blaylock, you better damn well drill him. This is your time to show you are a member of the Chicago White Sox Team......you stick up for them and do the job at hand. Tracey showed him that he isn't willing to do what it takes when he is called upon....and therefore doesn't belong on the team. I don't feel bad for him because in this particular situation he wasn't called upon to get Blaylock out....he was supposed to hit him and couldn't or wouldn't do the job! Right now im a little harder on Tracey then I am on Vazquez because it was clear his manager told him to hit Blaylock. We don't know what discussions Ozzie and Vazquez might have had! I do have to add Vazquez shouldn't have been told to hit someone....he should have just done it unless instructed not too!
  21. Well this just makes me excited to see what the next move will be because you know there is a big deal coming!
  22. Im not too upset about losing El Duque or Vizcaino. Chris Young sounds like a great prospect, but then again he is a prospect. As for Vazquez I always wanted him when he was an Expo and apparently the Sox have wanted him badly too. Lets hope KW knew what he was doing here, and what he is going to be doing with his next trade. I also believe Garland will be gone as well, and hopefully we end up with a quality center fielder and get some more bullpen arms along the way!
  23. Well so much for moving Marte for Mackowiak and getting Myers are our secong lefty.... http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...e2005&fext=.jsp
