  2. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Wow, someone actaully got sleep last night I see! Yeah, I wish, I am in EST, so I got a lot less sleep than most. I was just looking into the past history of the Sox and kept seeing some interesting dates that were aligned and thought I would post them.
  3. Here are some coincidental facts and dates about the White Sox and their last couple of playoff seasons: 1959 - Last World Series appearance 1983 – Harold Baines is a player on the 1983 team, and is now the current bench coach. He was born in 1959, the last time the Sox got to the WS. Greg Walker is a player on the 1983 team, and is now the hitting coach. He was also born in 1959. The Sox do not make the playoffs again until 1993. Joey Cora is a player on that team and is now the 3rd Base coach. Tim Raines is a player on the 1993 team, and is now the 1st Base coach; he was also born in 1959. Finally, Ozzie Guillen is a player on the 1993 team and is now the manager. The last time the Sox made the playoffs was in 2000. That year the Sox played Seattle in the ALDS. Freddie Garcia is on Seattle in 2000, and pitches Game 1 vs the Sox. Other notable players in 2000, Paul Konerko, Joe Crede, Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, and Harold Baines. Josh Paul (LAA) and Tony Graffanino (BOS) are also on the Sox playoff roster in 2000 and are involved in impact plays in the 2005 playoffs as opponents that go in favor of the Sox. Seattle’s coach in 2000 – Lou Piniella. 2000 was also the year Ozzie Guillen retired as a player in TB, which is the same team that takes 2 out of 3 vs CLE to help the Sox clinch the Division this year. TB’s coach – Lou Piniella. B.McCarthy, a significant contributor to the Sox at the end of the season was born in 1983. ------ And for a personal one. The last time the Sox had 4 consecutive complete games was on August 19th, 1974, which ironically is my birthdate.
  4. NICE JUMP ROWAND, ONE MORE OUT, ONE MORE OUT!!!! GO GO SOX!
  5. 3 Freakin outs! I cannot believe we are this close, with a 3 run lead no less.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) 1974 was the last time per Joe Buck This is an ironic one. August 19, 1974 was the last time the Sox had 4 consecutive CG's, and that is also my birthday!
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Use the old Frank Thomas 2000 playoff joke, Who bats after Vlad? The White Sox. LOL!
  8. People should be talking about how AJ is calling some great games! John even said that he shook AJ off on the HR. AJ is really under-rated for his game calling skills. Give him some props! Great job AJ!
  9. First AL team in history to pitch back to back to back Complete Games. That is f***ing huge!
  10. THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER! ONE MORE GAME! GREAT GAME FREDDY!
  11. 4 Groundouts for Vlad! That is almost unbelievable.
  12. QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) I'd have like to have seen a suicide with Gooch up....WHY NOT!?!? We don't need a broken hand from a bad pitch and a bunt.
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) I leave Freddy in for Vlad, just to try to get him to hit another grounder, and make him think about it for 24 hours. A homer off a rusty pitcher could get him going. As good as this series looks, a break could turn it all around. The Angels did beat the Sox 5 times in a row at USCF this season. They are not planning on going back to USCF. Knock em out while they are down and get Jose a win.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Thats the old-tyme Pods. Not really, only his 2nd triple of the year!
  15. GO PODS! There is the speed! Run Forrest Run!
