  1. Ozzie with late inning defensive replacements (Terrero and Crede), AND using Jenks in the 9th inning?
  2. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) Hey guys hows Owens looking? QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) great! 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 sbAlso, one of those was a double. With Owens on base, Gooch also hit better, going 2-4 with 2 RBI.
  3. God I hate domes. Blow them all up!
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) Drop Willy Taveras for Owens? I need me some steals!Why not. Taveras had 2 the other day, but went something like 9 games without one. Owens should get more opportunities.
  5. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 07:20 PM) How many pitches for Javy?64
  6. 3 consecutive hits? QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 06:53 PM) Jerry Owens is the missing link.He is also batting .500.
  7. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) KW has had the highest payroll in the AL central every year since 2001 and has won one division. He needs to go, its his time. World Series Championships in AL Central since 1995 (Wild Card Era): Sox - 1 Tigers - 0 Indians - 0 Twins - 0 Royals - 0 I would wait to see where we are at until July 15th. At that point if we are 8+ out, then I would start to consider some organizational moves. The Twins have had a solid organization for years, yet they have not sniffed the World Series since 1991.
  8. This game starts the string of 14 consecutive complete games by our pitchers. During that stretch the Sox go 11-3.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 12:10 PM) Stolen from Jayson Stark's article yesterday. Of the 103 teams that went on to win a World Series, just three -- the 1914 "Miracle" Braves (20-30), the 2003 Marlins (21-29) and 1924 Senators (24-26) -- were even one game below .500 after 50 games. ... Of the 24 wild-card playoff teams since the invention of wild-card playoff teams in 1995, three of them -- the 2005 Astros (-10½), the 2003 Marlins (-8) and the 2001 A's (-8) were at least eight games out in that race by the end of May. So you're saying there's a chance! We're only one game below .500 and only 4 out from the WC.
  10. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 06:36 AM) I'm not sure if this name has been thrown out there, but Chone Figgins could probably be had for a minimal price. He's struggling almost as worse as any Sox. But he's a decent bet to turn it around. and versatile enough to fill in a lot of spots the sox could use--LF, CF, IF. Getting him should be worth a shot at redeeming the sox season. Yet it wouldn't cost any part of the sox future. Figgins would be nice for his speed, but his OPS is .467. I doubt he would have that much of an impact over someone like Owens.
  11. Fans should start wearing paper bags on their heads.
  12. Will Buehrle get credit for a Complete Game only pitching 8 innings?
  13. I was actually surprised the Sox did not scoop him up with a minor league deal. He was batting .313/.444/.618 with 9 HR and 8 SB in AAA. The only drawback is that is he 31, but the way our system looks, he couldn't hurt.
  14. Got runs?
  15. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 04:59 PM) That's pretty wild that Buehrle and Halladay are both going for win no. 100 tonight... Except that its like Buehrle's 9th try.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2007 -> 01:28 PM) One of the guys on that list is currently putting up a .285/.395/.527/.922 line, 11 HR, 31 RBI, 24 R, 7 2B, 32BB:23SO and can be had.Former Mariner perhaps?
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:28 AM) Drinking helps me feel better after a loss. By the end of the week, I will be an alcoholic.Fixed.
  18. Da Sox 74 - Little Birdies 2 Buehrle throws a no-hitter thru 1.
  19. Of Minnesota's 26 runs in this series, 18 came with two outs.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 30, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) As I type this, we're looking at a delicious 6.5 games out of first place with Indians leading 6-2 in the 6th inning. Although we're still within distance of the wild card with Detroit currently losing. I don't think we will catch Cleveland because they haven't shown any signs of slowing down compared to Detroit. The Wild Card is probably our only hope, and we will still have to worry about Minnesota and Oakland in that race as well. For 92 wins, we have to go 68-46 the rest of the way.
  21. 37 runs allowed in the last 4 games - ouch! We scored 17.........
  22. Craig Wilson 1-8, 5 K's in his first two games in Charlotte. Not looking good.
  23. Santana Peavy Reyes Sizemore Pujols
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 30, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Come on now, how come I have this suspicion that the NY Post would be more than willing to give this story more play than the Giambi/steroid situation?Exactly. I am currently in NY and this is everywhere this morning. Then I turn on ESPNRadio and they are talking about it. I didn't know exactly what happened until I read the story, and I couldn't understand why it was getting sooo much attention.
  25. Its just amazing how the NY Times will go out of their way to sink this guy. Like the Yankees really need more controversy.
