White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/4/07 (W)
If that was AJ, the benches would've cleared.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/4/07 (W)
Man, Joe looks hurt running down the line. His back has to still be an issue.

Tank suspended for 8 games
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ag5T...p&type=lgns Sounds about right. Hopefully he can keep his nose clean and get it reduced to 6.

Major league RBI leaders...
CLee can lead all the categories he wants, but for some reason teams don't do anything when he plays for them. The Sox win the WS the year after he leaves. Houston is 1.5GB out of the cellar in the NL Central right now, and Milwaukee finally started to win once he left. Coincidence or not, you decide.

rowand to the sox?
If a Rowand-MMac trade went thru, all these deals would essentially be: Lumsden, Garcia, and PTBNL for Thome and Floyd At this point, what could it hurt? MMac is killing this team, and Rowand might be able to provide a consistent bat with some solid D to the team. Also, reuniting him with his ol' mates might add a little life to the clubhouse.

It's Official
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) I wish we had the 2006/mexican league Nick Masset.or the Venezuelan Winter League Brian Anderson.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Is it possible to create the Trade Winds sub-forum earlier this year in light of the performance of the team?
-
Jerry Owens or Felix Pie
In a 40 yard dash on a track? On the basepaths? Out of the batter box? In the outfield? During an SB attempt?

LMAO
I laughed at Baseball Prospectus' preseason prediction when they had the Sox at 72-90 and in 4th. Looking at this team now, they are spot on. Scary.
-
LMAO
What they need to do is not cut their hair for the rest of the year (Thome with a Mullet = sweet). Then during the 7th inning stretch, the grounds crew brings out the tarps and wets them down so the entire team can do tarp slides. You can trace the down fall of this team to April 16th and 18th of 2006, that is when Buehrle had his last tarp slide and when Crede/AJ were told to chop their locks.

Our Hitting
QUOTE(Hanky Panky @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 07:30 AM) We will heat up and hit soon. It is too late though in my opinion to win the division. Cleveland is just too good even though their pitchers suck. Detroit is better than Cleveland though. They just haven't hit their stride yet. I think the Tigers will overtake the Indians and win the division. They have much better starting pitching. When's Kenny Rogers due back? The Tigers? No way. There is one team in the MLB that has more Blown Saves than the Sox, the Tigers.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
This one made my day. The Sox website tried to make a positive story about how Crede was the Sox leading All-Star vote getter and how he is currently in 5th in the AL 3B voting. I just found that to be pretty funny in light of how bad all the Sox hitters have been. That had a Royal-esque feel to it.

Greatest minor league ejection routine ever?
Those both were awesome. That grenade was hilarious. Maybe Ozzie needs to do something like that to wake this team up - or he can punch AJ.
-
No Clemens vs. the White Sox Monday
I wonder if the groin has anything to do with the Yankees current record (23-30) and the fact that they are now 13.5 GB from Boston.
-
I can't blame Ozzie anymore....this is ALL on Kenny
2005 was not a fluke. The Sox won because the other teams were not as competitive as they are now. Detroit was putting their pieces together, Cleveland was still young, and the Twins weren't the piranhas yet. Also, the Sox bullpen was lights out. That is the one thing that is missing this year, even with this anemic offense.

Who is Worse Right Now?
I would go with McDougal because I am sure he is much better than MacDougal.

How about??
Yeah, I say no to Dusty, but I wouldn't mind Razor.

2007 AL Central Catch-All Thread
Holy cow, that was ugly for Detroit. At least we gain another .5 game in the WC race. Cleveland seems to have the division locked up.

Tonight Was This Season's Turnaround?
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) Well Owens certainly gave us a spark tonight. But as important, Tadahito got 2 hits in the #2 spot as well. If these 2 can give us some life up the top of the order, it'll give more RBI chances to guys in the middle, and hopefully they can start to take advantage. Fantastic outing by Vazquez as well of course, which he needed. Gooch looked so much better with Owens on base, whether that was because Burnett had to pitch out of the stretch or something else. Regardless it was nice to see production from those spots. Vazquez finally pitched like everyone (including his periphs) expects him to. Maybe he had Canada flashbacks to his days in Montreal.

Tonight Was This Season's Turnaround?
I'm saying 14 straight wins starting tonight.

Amazing Owens stat
Those are some amazing stats.

Giambi likely done for the year
http://www.nypost.com/seven/06012007/sport...george_king.htm How ironic that this guy does all this talking, and then slips out under the radar for the entire season.
-
Jerry Owens called up
Owens looked really fast tonight, which bodes well for this team. We have not had that type of speed for awhile now. Also, Gooch looked much better with someone like Owens on base.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/01/07 (W)
This just in......we have never lost when we pitched a shutout.
-
THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
Congrats to Owens! Great game kid. Also, a little welcome back for Gooch, we missed you. Nice 1-2 punch there. If they can continue to hit even close to that, and the 3-4-5 start to hit, this offense will be back quick. Lastly, congrats to the pitcher formerly known as Javieer "5th inning" Vazquez.
