QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:04 AM) I hope they don't trade Garland. This is the best Starting Rotation I have seen since the Braves days. Let's win another World Series and worry about Garland after 2006. Teehehe.. snicker, snicker..

QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:40 AM) I lean towards her hiring someone to do it. I could see her "helping" him OD, but I can't see her shotgunning him. Although you'd think if someone murdered Cobain, the urge to tell someone would have too much to hold inside. Unless that person was mysteriously struck by a train and killed.....? There are too many weird things about this case for it to be a "simple suicide", IMO. After reading some of that stuff. I agree. She does have witnesses that she was not in Seattle at the time he left the rehab and the 3 days after. I think that housekeeper definitely had something to do with it. Hell.. even his own mother apparently wasn't "that" upset by his death.. maybe it was her..

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Remember a couple years ago when people were calling for KW's head. Wow have times changed. I love this trade and that Thome trade is a great trade for both teams IMHO. I agree with you about Anderson. I think we need to give him a chance. Or just a week or two ago when you were ripping the s*** out of him for not making a spot for Frank on the '06 team... :rolly

QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) The fans didn't show up because he has them sit in a s*** hole football stadium to watch baseball. You think it's crap..? I thought it was an awesome stadium.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) Her reply was meant as sarcasm. Assuming..

If these lazy ass pitchers would just pitch complete games like the old timers did, this wouldn't be an issue..

Where would he play.. ?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) One stupid hack on rotoworld said Tejada quit on his team last year and everybody has latched on to that. He's been considered great in the clubhouse his entire career. I missed that story, but I find it incredibly hysterical.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) Because nobody seems to be checking their facts these days. Or just tossing s*** at the walls and going with what happens to stick. Your arm tired?

QUOTE(SoIL @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) I see Reed is being mentioned in trade rumors now. Looks like Seattle doesn't think he's the second coming. I'm not sure what to think of this trade yet, but I do trust Kenny. I agree wholeheartedly that Williams wants to win it all over again. Hell, so do I! LMAO.. I still remember a former Soxtalker spitting fire at Kenny for getting rid of Reed at Soxfest a few years ago..

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) Yes leader-club house with spanish speaking, and by example on the field. The guy is ALWAYS at the mound with the pitcher, ALWAYS taking control in the field, pop ups, dp's whatever, he is the best SS i have seen in awhile in the sox uniform. Its so closed minded to criticize a guys language skills, and not consider his actual leadership qualitities. Because, speaking with current players, the guy is a great presence. Thanks. No. Uribe barely - mostly never - even spoke to anyone, much less on the mound. Control on the field.. again.. no. Aaron and Joe called 99.9% of the plays. From the horses mouths. It's not closed minded to relay facts. I'm not denying he's a nice guy. But leader.. again.. no.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Always bringing us that insider info steff. Take Levine's job. Eh.. no thanks. Seriously, MT was the leader in that clubhouse at the start of the season and when they started losing he got on their asses a lot. Sadly the Sidney, Raffy, and Sosa issues caused a lot of turmoil that couldn't be righted. The guy is a horse. An asset to any team lucky enough to have him.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) There is one thing that scares me a bit about getting Tejada, and it's the same thing that scares me with Vazquez - attitude. You can dismiss it all you want (which some people will), but the team last year had a lot of guys that would grind it out big time, day in and day out. These two guys have been doing a lot of complaining lately, and haven't exactly proven to be great presences. I'm just saying, that may have an effect on the clubhouse, and that effect can't be measured with their stats. MT has one of the best, if not the best, attitudes. His rivals that of only Pujols that I can think of off the top of my head.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) How is that ridiculous? We are not the yankess, we have to worry about payroll. Uribe is a better value, he is young, he is cheap, he is a leader, he is the field general. I would rather have the team we have now, and Uribe than the team we would have with Tejada, bar none. Hu...?? He can't even hold a conversation with 95% of the team and staff. Good grief.. Oh how I wish Crede had caught that damn ball. :headshake

QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) This is hilarious, people are saying don't get the very best SS in baseball because we have to give up a SS and a pitcher, and also we have people who are afraid of payroll like it's their own money. Unreal. This is Miguel Tejada, people. What's unreal is that you didn't see this coming.

QUOTE(Adam G @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:26 AM) Oh funk dat shiznit. Put Garland's wanting to test the market ass on a plane, not McCarthy. Yea!! And maybe we can take back Paul's contract and send his ass also since he did the same thing. :rolly

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) If we have a boy - you know - it would really suck having you all as in-laws. Joey has dibs.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:03 AM) Havent any of you seen "Kurt and Courtney". Lots of people think Courtney killed Kurt. In fact, alot of the evidence points that way too. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/kurt/kurt.html Some good bits of info on this page No, I didn't. A friend of mine forwarded me the links and I was kinda surprised at all the evidence pointing to murder. I didn't pay much attention to the situation when it happened.

QUOTE(mreye @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 07:55 AM) Steff, any word on any lasting damage? That's one of the few major hurdles left.. they don't know at this point and wont until they are able to test him. That testing is waaaaaayyy down the line. Him sustaining life is front and center at this point. He has shown signs of alertness and can follow noise and light. That's a good sign at this point. Hopefully he will be out of the sedatives enough this afternoon to give us some significant responses. But no formal testing will be done for weeks. Although.. they did tell us that the ventilator would be in "for weeks" also... Things change by the hour in the NICU...

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) I got 4 WhiteSox tickets box seats and it says they are good for any April/May game besides the Cubs series...... So does that mean Ill be able to get in on opening day or the 2nd day when we have the ring ceremony? No to opening day. It's a "prime date" on the schedule, and rate scale.

Joey's surgery was a success. They have begun weaning him off the medications that leave him coma like and he started to move his feet a bit last night. They also took the ECMO stints out of his neck... so no more ECMO The doctors are amazed at his progress. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.. I would have thought they were BS'ing me about where he was 3 days ago to where he is now. They are even talking about taking him off the ventilator! Every day is a new test.. but hopefully with these few big steps he's taken the past 2 days we are past the biggest hurdles. Thank you all again for all your notes, cards, emails, messages, and calls... Jim and I can never really express the thanks they deserve. Here's a few pics.. from where he was on Friday, to where he was last night.
