  1. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) I feel sorry for her. Sorry in what way..? Or do you mean you mean you feel bad for her..?
  2. Sorry for your loss Gas. Prayers for your family.
  3. Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.. Despite the Aaron news, we had fun. Collected just over $5K on my various bets on the Sox.
  4. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) but i also get a little surprised at how people react to stuff like this. some folks seem to take some joy in it which i don't quite get. that's just me though. not saying i'm right. You are.
  5. Had a fun time at the game. Nice stadium, and real die hard, respectful, fans.
  6. Definitely #2. Sidenote.. Jim has some #3's that he claims are extremely comfortable.
  7. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Steff, the link is dead, do you remember the schedule on XM? Eh.. no. But I got something in the mail from them on it. Let me see if I can find it and I'll post the schedule. Boz also has XM.. if I don't find it maybe he can post it.
  8. QUOTE(easyw @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) In obvious violation of copyrights laws, I am purchasing a DVD recorder with the intention of reproducing the games WITHOUT the express written consent of the Chicago South Side Ball Club and Major League Base Ball. If Selig wants to come after me, he knows where to find me! It's OK to record them for personal use, no?
  9. I'm shocked that the resident defender hasn't swooped in here to scold you that these are "just allegations" at this point.. :headshake
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) Seems Jim should be the one doing the asking. Hahahahaa... He is so kind to defer all the uncomfortable stuff to me. It's OK though.. we all (the girls - sisters, daughters, female cousins, etc.. ) get along very well. I'm just not sure because something like this has never happened.. I'm wondering if it was just a mistake.. but it's come up several times (like who's bringing what) and she never asked about my folks..
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Uh...yeah Like Records This is vital information that must be answered Oh another fyi...finally got called by a ticket rep...my seats suck but I'm now a proud season ticket holder. I wasn't very friendly on the phone though As for your family situation, you're a weirdo, beyond help Hmm.. I know I have some and we have a few boxes in the basement that might have some in there from his stone age years.. LOL Anything specific you're looking for..? Shame on you for being mean. Tell me who your rep is so I can tell them to never call you back. Yes.. beyond help. Sigh.. I know.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) As far as I'm concerned....the more relatives the worse the event That just holds true when it comes to my moms side of the family though I don't think there is ever anything wrong with inviting family or friends(even if they are very distant). Worse they can do is say no, and I think they always feel welcome for the invite. I agree with #1 completely.. LOL I have a sticky situation with Jim's sisters daughter... every year we all spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together.. my family and his family (immediate and all the way down to the kids cousins). It's just the way it's always been.. now Jim and I are going to visit my gram, aunts & uncles, and cousins in Florida and Beth (Jim's sisters daughter) is hosting Thanksgiving.. she has yet to invite my folks.. who live a block from her. I'm this/close to asking her what the hell is up. I think it's rude especially since my folks do a lot for her when she is late from work (a lot) like getting her kids from the bus stop and walking her dog, etc.. Jim says go ahead and ask her.. I'm just trying to find the right way to ask her about it.. she's one we have to handle with "kid gloves" often. I was kinda asking about how far the invite extends in case we're weird for having holiday's with all that family.. No need to respond.. I know we're weird. LOL.
  13. G.. LP's...? Like records..?
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) I guarantee you he didn't win Mission Viejo and I doubt he won Lake Forest so I don't know how he did in the other cities. Both are very safe areas, although I must say I was surprised to see Lake Forest in there. There are other areas in South Orange County that I think of as safer and better, but Lake Forest is pretty small. :banghead
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) There's a difference between LOCAL politics, in this case, and NATIONAL politics. Local politics belong into this discussion - as Mercy pointed out. National politics, such as what John Kerry is going to do for Camden, NJ (absolutely NOTHING) doesn't belong in this thread, but somehow is made to. Thanks kap.. And thank for explaining the difference :rolly

    Glitter in custody..

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Not Glitter's case, but here's the hypothetical: Underage girl lies about her age and has consentual sex with you in a country where statutory rape is punishible by death. You raped an underage girl according to their laws, regardless of what she said about her age. Do you deserve to die? You can't undo execution, as an earlier thread today by Tex made soberingly clear. He was already found guilty of having child porn in 1999. There should not have been an opportunity for him to have any more victims.
  17. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) I think this thread proves the answer is "yes". Not surprising.
  18. How far extended is acceptable (or un.. ) when inviting people over for the holiday's...??
  19. http://people.aol.com/people/articles/0,19...1132769,00.html Teen Dad Terrell Pough Killed Sunday Nov 20, 2005 1:00pm EST Monday Nov 21, 2005 9:00am EST (updated) Terrell Pough and Diamond CREDIT: GAIL ALBERT HALABAN Terrell Pough, an 18-year-old single father struggling to raise his toddler daughter, was killed Thursday night in Philadelphia. In August, PEOPLE profiled Pough, who worked as night manager of a local chicken restaurant while attending high school full-time and caring for his daughter, Diamond, who turns 2 on Nov. 27. Pough was shot in the head on his way home from work at about 10:30 p.m. in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, and died later at Temple University Hospital, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Philadelphia homicide detective Gary White said police were looking for a person with a possible connection to the slaying, but he did not release any other information. "We don't have any suspects yet," White said, "but it's possible we may have a lead." This summer, PEOPLE visited Pough, who was determined to build a better life for his daughter. "She's what I work for, what I live for, why I wake up," he said. "She's everything." A former street-tough kid, Pough was raised by his maternal great-grandparents and never knew his own father. His life changed, however, when he learned at 15 that his then-girlfriend, Charmaine Houston, also 15, was pregnant. Although Pough and Houston drifted apart, Pough pledged to support their child. After Diamond was born, Pough's school placed him in the parenting-skills program Males Achieving Responsibility Successfully (MARS), where he became a star pupil. "It makes me feel really great to see a young man have the desire to be a financial provider – and do it in a legal manner," said Damien Webber, Pough's MARS adviser. Pough shared custody of Diamond with Houston until, concerned that she wasn't meeting the girl's needs, he asked for, and won, full custody (Diamond spent weekends with her mother). Pough's school, Germantown High, had recently changed its daycare policies, so Pough told PEOPLE he planned to transfer for his senior year to a school that offered vocational training. Since September, he'd learned construction skills at the YouthBuild Charter School, and was on track to graduate in June. Pough was determined to find a good job in construction so he could provide greater opportunities for Diamond. "If something ever happens to me," he told PEOPLE, "no one can ever tell her that her dad didn't take care of her." for Diamond and the rest of his family.
  20. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) It's both. "My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps...." Ugh, now I have to lie down until the nausea fades.....might be a while..... Move over... :puke
  21. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Did that Village People influence show up in the song "My Humps", I wonder? Now that I think about it, probably not......think about it...."lovely LADY lumps.... and OF COURSE it's "PERSONAL OPINIONS"( inappropriate apostrophe deleted ) , silly man - that's all this message board is in the first place!!! If I ever change anyone's mind on any topic due to something I say, I feel sorry for their new opinion!! Wait.. it's "humps"...?? I thought it was "lumps"...
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) I still havn't seen a single Bears fan sincerely talk about the Bears going to the Superbowl this year. We just talked about it yesterday.. since we're going to have to send in playoff ticket $$ soon..
  23. When will people learn that these people can NOT be rehabilitated.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4454486.stm Glitter 'had sex with girl, 12' An arrest warrant was issued for Gary Glitter last week Ex-glam rock star Gary Glitter has been accused of having sex with two girls, one aged 12, police in Vietnam said. Police said the girls, 12 and 18, said in police interviews they had sex with Glitter, 61, at his Vung Tau home. There are conflicting reports as to whether the second girl had turned 18 - the legal age of consent in Vietnam. Glitter, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, has not been charged and remains in custody. If convicted he could be jailed for up to 12 years. A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the arrest of a British national and consular support is being provided." Under Vietnamese law, sexual contact with a minor carries varying degrees of penalty, depending on the charge. 'Lewd acts' The 1970s rocker was held on suspicion of "lewd acts" with children after an arrest warrant was issued last week. He was stopped at Ho Chi Minh City airport on Saturday by an official who recognised him from media coverage. "Obscene acts with a child" can lead to 12 years imprisonment while child rape carries the maximum penalty of death before a firing squad. A police officer in Vung Tua said: "Having sex with a 12-year-old girl, regardless of whether he had her consent, is still considered child rape under Vietnamese law." Police would not confirm whether either of the girls claimed they were paid for sex. British consular officials visited Glitter in Vung Tau, the coastal town where he has lived for six months, following his arrest. A Vietnamese foreign ministry spokesman said after Glitter's arrest that authorities had interviewed a 15-year-old girl they had found at his home. British officials earlier confirmed that Glitter would have access to a lawyer. They described the Vietnamese authorities as very co-operative. Vung Tua police said on Monday they were continuing to investigate the case and are to question the singer further. Glitter was found guilty in the UK in 1999 of possessing child pornography and served two months in jail.
