QUOTE(shakes @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) On a strange unrelated note. Steff, I had a dream that you were my neighbor and you gave me free playoff tickets. Even though, I've never met you. Your very nice in dreams. LMAO... Thanks!

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) If GIVEN tickets to a suite at a cub game I would pass. Why the F' would I write an essay and waste any time whatsoever for this? The tickets are not for a suite at a Cubs game...

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) Is it true that the more times you have your credit report looked into, it actually hurts you credit score?? Yes. Your score decreases somewhere it he neighborhood of 9 to 17 points every time it's checked. The logic is that if you're being looked into there must be a reason and that creditors are concerned about your payment history.

QUOTE(wallyburger @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) Fine, whatever. I defer to the experts. The offense is great. The offense isn't great.. but if you're going to attempt to argue money spent at the very least try to use facts to back up your claims.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) It is entirely too easy to get a credit card. It's a joke. My 4 year old neice got a pre-approved Discover with a $10K limit last year.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) I just don't understand having a contest for White Sox tickets, and basically making life-long White Sox fans ineligible to win. Maybe a true White Sox fan will win anyway. White Sox fans should enter anyway and relay that sentiment. Make them see the error in judgement in having such a contest.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) Even if that was the case, it looks like they are looking for bandwagon jumpers. I think it would be more appropiate to give them to someone that has been loyal to the team for years. I doubt any recently transformed Cub fan could appreciate it as much as the gentleman mentioned above. Dick... nearly all the suites are owned by corps. They are filled with BW jumpers every game. I think it would be appropriate to reward a Sox fan also. Oh well...

QUOTE(mreye @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) ...mulch, top soil, plants, chairs, both my deers, cabinets, windows, wood burning stove, bathtub, love seat, fridge, stove, washer, dryer, TVs, entertainment center... Dayyymmm... that's a BIG truck!

QUOTE(mreye @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) In Chicago? The Daley Machine! No, Hillside. I would guess the local g'ment, right? Probably should have those signs changed. IMO the fine should be $500.
-
Seeing as how they are requiring the Cub fan to write what hopefully will be a logical essay.. maybe there's a chance one that will appreciate them will win.

Illegal handicap parking fines..? An asshole employee parked in the handicap spot and a cop gave them a ticket for $100 though the sign says $50 (and is likely as old as this building).

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) Really though, Is anybody popular in Aruba after this past year? If you look at history, Aruba is one of the safest tourist destinations.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Go home to where? I don't think is really popular in Aruba right now Things are fine there. They settled the cases there and he paid some fines and did some BS community service. Also donated a ton of $$ to some G'ment pet projects. The judge is probably still pissed though...

10 of 'em.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) There are problems outside of trying to run over a judge on a beach and 2 DUI's? Do tell. Not really necessary. Hopefully he'll just take the $$ he's made and go home.

18 and 19 is still "teens", yes.. but also legally an adult. Isn't $500K in damage a felony... ? http://www.10news.com/news/4884846/detail....00481&qs=1;bp=t Teens Sentenced To Jail For BB Gun Shootings Young Men Caused $500,000 In Damage POSTED: 6:16 am PDT August 23, 2005 UPDATED: 7:17 am PDT August 23, 2005 SAN DIEGO -- A Superior Court judge sentenced three teens to a year in jail after they were convicted of causing as much as $500,000 in damage by shooting out windows with BB guns. Prosecutor Michael MacNeil said the teens -- Phillip Murphy, 18, Michael Anthony Ching, 18, and Joshua Thomas Levitt, 19 -- drove around La Mesa neighborhoods in the middle of the night almost every night from January to July shooting out windows of cars, trucks and businesses, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The three were sentenced Monday at El Cajon Municipal Court. The teens, all from La Mesa, admitted in a July plea agreement to committing two shootings, according to the newspaper. Judge Allen J. Preckel said he sentenced the trio to a year in jail, despite protests from relatives and friends, to serve as a warning to others, the Union-Tribune reported. The teens were also ordered to repay $7,331.82 to two victims, serve three years of probation with a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and perform 200 hours of volunteer work each. They were also barred from owning BB guns.

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/4894191/detail.html Two Charged With Castrating N.C. Man, Cutting His Ears Off POSTED: 6:34 am EDT August 25, 2005 WALNUT COVE, N.C. -- Police in North Carolina have arrested two people who allegedly castrated a man and also cut off his ears. Authorities said the man was mutilated after he got into a fight with another man who was supposed to give him a tattoo. They said his attackers used a butcher knife to slice off his ears and slash his genitals. They said the attackers then put a bandage around his head, put him in his car and told him to leave. The victim drove to a home and asked the residents to call police. Police have charged a 29-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman in the attack. Stokes County Sheriff Mike Joyce said Gary Thomas Johnson and Jennifer Arlene Robbins were being held under $75,000 bond each. They were charged with malicious castration assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, kidnapping and maiming of body parts. The man who was mutilated is listed in stable condition in a Winston-Salem hospital.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I guess adultery can be construed as a lesser evil, but a wrong is a wrong. I was kinda more refering to his actions and how they will end up effecting his kids, but you're right I'll drop the subject. Oh, I agree with you 100%. But I do feel there are no second chances with assult of any kind while cheating is something that can be tolerated if the parties are stupid enough to trust again. :rolly As for the kids.. they (MJ and JJ) are equally responsible for the ramifications of their actions and how they effect the kids. They opened that can of worms and they have no one to blame but themselves. Sad for the kids definitely.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) I cant believe that i used to think this guy was going to be a dominant pitcher at some point. What a head case. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2142576 And half of his legal problems have never even made the press.. A shame.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) Thats an interesting perspective from someone who always posts about domestic violence, murder and child molestation... I guess all their money makes up for any problems they have around the house? Cheating on your spouse comparable to DV, Murder, and CM. I'd bet Juanita has a good life and prefers him not around.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) I have zero respect for MJ as a father figure, or as a husband for that matter. Doesn't effect my life so I don't really care.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) Isn't he still married? Jordan has been alot of things...but he's never been faithful. Yep. Lucky for him she cared more about her kids having a father around. She would have destroyed him financially.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) I saw the interview, it was kind of a follow up to Frank Robinson's comments about purging the record book of steroid stats. I thought Shill made a good point, and applauded his willingness to make a stand. If more players came out against steroids, maybe baseball wouldn't have had such an issue. Too many players shun difficult subjects and speak in cliches that say nothing. Tex.. I agree those who feel this way should speak. But Curt.. who sat there next to Raffy and chewed Jose's ass out for being a liar...? Curt should have also included an apology to Canseco in his comments, IMO, if he was going to say anything at all.
