  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Kong answered the question honestly. I didn't read any of his team mates ripping him for the quote. Someone ripped him..??
  2. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) I took in this stray kitten, and I was going to give her away. But she's kind of growing on me (aside from the clawings during medicine time). Awww.... she's a cutie. Are her eyes that green in person?
  3. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) No. I hate it. I paid to watch the game, and that's what I want to do. The wave is bad baseball etiquitte. I also hate it when people leave mid-inning during a batter and I have to stand up and miss a pitch or two. Drives me insane! Sadly.. the practice of waiting is gone. When I go I wait till between batters - more often between innings. And if I get back during an at bat I wait at the top of the stairs. Always a steady stream of traffic up and down them though.. :headshake
  4. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) What? I don't think it's fair to call a 3000 hit, 500 home run major leaguer subpar. Noted. My opinion.. he's subpar.
  5. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) I may be in the minority here. I want to watch the rally. Im sure you don't like it when someone keeps standing in front of you during a movie in the theater. I don't think you are.. but I'd rather it done when we're ahead versus down.
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) Hell. I wouldn't miss Steff's well placed barbs for the world. Even if I am the occasional recipient. Aww.. YAS.. It's all about being a big boy. Like I just read in the cliche thread.. "if you can't stand the heat.. get out of the kitchen". Just a couple examples of folks who can't boil water.
  7. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) agree... ignoring stef has greatly enhanced my soxtalk experience... And stopping you from stealing from the Sox still makes me smile, thief.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) Because certian players are immune from the same critisism no matter what they say. Not from me. Frank or Mark or anyone else starts tooting Magg's, or any former player's, horn and I'll call a spade a spade in a heartbeat.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) Paul said almost the exact same stuff as Ozzie did, but of course everyone only focused on the negative. When Kenny Williams talked about how great he was while he was here, that was just a blurb in the article that hasn't even been mentioned. But its always different when it comes to certian players. Everyone complains about Frank being misinterpretted, but Konerko saids boo and everyone is putting the worst possible spin on it. I don't get it. Ozzie called him the best..? Kenny did too..? While JD is out there busting his ass..?? It's not about what he said.. it's about the timing. Tack is something Paul has little of. What's with the harping on those of us with an opinion that Paul should open mouth, insert foot with some of his comments..? I don't get it.
  10. Don't see any quotes from Mark and Frank calling their competetor the "best they ever played with..." :rolly I like this approach by Ozzie.. "Because there are more important things with this ballclub than talking about Magglio. When it's time to talk about Magglio, I will. "It's hard for me to come here after the way we played and all of a sudden the first thing is [about] Magglio Ordonez. "It's not fair for our players, it's not fair for me. … I want to talk about my team first before I talk about Magglio." Hope Paul is taking notes this morning..
  11. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:27 AM) They were doing it while The white sox were batting And they had just gone up in the 7th (when I saw it on TV). It was rally time.. the fans were pumped.. at least it wasn't when the Sox were down by 5. Better that then screaming at Detroit fans or throwing punches with them - which I was happy to hear was not part of the Monday night line up last night.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) Billy Wagner would be a great addition. With KW stating he only wants to add to the mix, and not trade from the current group, is it reasonable that the Phillies would accept prospects and prospects only? Is Philly in a cash crunch...? Prospect and cash sounds nice.
  13. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) blah blah. any post by steff is ignored from now on. uh-oh, bye bye. :uhoh Awesome. That's a few more threads that wont be runined by your BS complaining.
  14. The White Sox haven't done squat in the post season so I expect to be the underdogs.. As for Raffy.. I agree with him. Raffy HAS been subpar his entire career. 4 AS appearances in 20 years.. no way is he a first ballot HOF'er.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) Get tickets for the Saturday game, we are all going to tailgate, and would love to meet you!!! Saturday is sold out.. so if you can trade with someone Soxy that would be cool. Keep us posted.
  16. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) don't worry, i noticed last week that steff usually is quick to jump down somones throat. i don't know why, but dont wory about it retro. And we all noticed that you can't grasp sarcasm..

    Hurricane Emily

    QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) Or try to bungee it to a tree or an immovable object. If it is just sitting there, the wind will catch it and it will become a projectile. I'd still turn it upsidedown. Then the wind can't get under it. My sister turned her's upsidedown and put a few cider blocks on it last year. Never had an issue.
  18. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Well thanks for pointing that out. I was just wondering if anyone knew how this works or if anyone had any inside info as to how this type of deal works. I imagine it wont be an issue.

    QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 07:27 AM) Any ideas on how to hold down a trampoline? I really do not want to disassemble. I'm laying in some Stout, figuring it's my favorite beer when warm. I have 3,000 gallons of water at the ranch and another 750 gallons in a mobile tank. Tex.. turn it upsidedown
  20. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) And take the Cubs/Cards off the air .... don't be so sure. If anything, some sort of concession would have to be made so that WGN could pick it up, but I think there is some sort of legal issue with FOX having rights to all day Saturday games. Well look at that... you answered your own question.
  21. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) Um..that was my son. Really.. that little pasty skined child with the blond hair was yours...???
  22. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) I think they'll work it out if it's the clinching game. Common sense.
  23. During blowouts I expect it.. but if the Sox are down I absolutely hate it. I never do it regardless. One other thing.. those kids in the front row of the Scout seats last night.. oye ve.. if I were their parents I would have kicked their asses. Every inning it was up, down, running down the tunnel, waving, standing, doing whatever they could BUT watch the game. And that little kid that was sitting right behind the Sox dugout dancing or whatever he was doing.. Good grief..
  24. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) monday night is 1/2 price night the last couple of mondays have been sold out. Can you link that information? I believe you are incorrect and this is the first Monday night sellout.
  25. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) and yet you logged on to post in it, dumbass. Completely uncalled for.
