  1. So I want to get the car washed so my co-worker Tom and I decided to go over to Uno's Pizza on Roosevelt (across the street from Turtle Wax). I drop Tom off and drop the car off at the Turtle.. as I am crossing the street over to Uno 2 cop cars come flying down the street and into the parking lot where Uno is.. then immdiately do a u-turn and speed off down Roosevelt. I get inside and Tom tells me that a kid was running across the parking lot with some shirts in his hands being chased by Marshall's security, end us dropping the shirts and escaping security. A few minutes later the security guy comes into Uno looking for the kid and he's carrying a green shirt and a Prior jersey They ended up getting the kid. He was balling in the back of the squad. Pretty exciting day out in Lombard.
  2. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Are the Cubs games different? Can't you just drive into one of the lots on gameday and pay the fee? The only cash lot during the Cub series is lot G.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) Frickin' bidders. The tix I was looking at have like doubled in price in the last hour. Sometimes it's best to buy the ones that are set price.. Those ones I had a few weeks ago not sounding too bad, eh..?? He ended up selling them for $80 each.
  4. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Ahhhh I didn't know that. Yeah I would NEVER expect them to pick the sox over the cubs at the start of the season. I thought this was just set up recently.... Can I still hate them??? Of course.
  5. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) I think that this will be the line up. Give Pods and AJ the day off, and load the lineup with right handed batters vs. the LHP. Lets finish off the Royals. Day off tomorrow..
  6. QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) He could be 2 sections away and still be near you. I'm not one to defend ESPN.. but this was planned at the start of the season when no one knew the Sox would be this good. I'm not shocked they planned on being at Wrigley.. they do something there every year.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) How do you actually pay for the tix on StubHub? How are they sent to the buyer? You pay for the tickets and shipping via PayPal or a credit card.. then the tickets are sent to you via fedex. StubHub handles everything as you and the seller never have to communicate. I've sold a lot of concert tickets there. Never had an issue.
  8. Great time as usual. Ranger it was nice to meet you and your sister. Jas, Alex... have fun today and have a safe trip home. I'll talk to you guys when I get back. Pray for me to get that 300!
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Steff, I have no clue where I55 is, I just misread your post. Don't mind me, I'm absolutely retarded when it comes to directions. I'm trying to help and I'm just making things more complicated. LOL.. I55 is the Stevenson.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Yup, just checked on MapQuest. :headshake QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) Is it Happy Hour yet??????? It is for me.. I'm outta here kids. See those of you that are going tonight later!!
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) Whaaaa ... ?? Confused. I-55 toward the city, exit Dan Ryan Indiana. Exit at 35th St. off the Dan Ryan. The exit takes you directly onto 35th Street, unless they changed the exit. If you exit at 31st Street you are already on Wentworth, and from there you'd proceed down past 35th ... or do I have the two exits messed up in my mind? 35th exit does the same as 31st one does. When you get off the Ryan you are on Wentworth. You have to turn at the light left/right to get onto 35th.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) Depends which way you're coming from. If you're coming from the north on the ryan and get off on the 35th street exit then you just go straight. EDIT: Nevermind, he's going north not south, sorry about that. He's coming from I55... he'll be going south on the Dan Ryan. No turns necessary.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) Note, when you exit at 35th St. you will have to make a quick left hand turn onto Wentworth - going south. Then as Steff says, you'll see them waving you into the church lot on your right hand side, just before 37th St. If he's coming from 55 no he wont. Just go through the 35th street light. He'll already be on Wentworth.
  14. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Again, thank-you for your help. No problem
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) I like to give mine away, because last year, I would just let them go to waste when I didnt make it to a game. More often or not, I would just want someone else to have a good game, maybe take a kid, or a friend that has never been there.....wishful thinking I guess. We give our last minute can't use tickets away also.. no sense in the seats being empty.
  16. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) Thanks for the tip, does the church fill up fast? I'm still not sure what time I'm leaving for the game. Yes. Faster because it's smaller.. It will probably be full by 6 tonight.
  17. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) Is the church exit off of I-55 or another road? It's off the Dan Ryan.. Take 55 North to the Dan Ryan South (towards Indiana) and get off at 35th street.. go past 35th street (park will be on your right) and you'll see them waving you in just before 37th street.
  18. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) Didn't Wunsch only play 3 games for the Sox last season? How can Ozzie judge him on that? Yea.. I kinda don't get the first part of this quote either.. "He didn't play good for me......I didn't get to see this kid pitch". It's a bit contradictory.. Oh well. That's Ozzie for ya.
  19. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) First page Steff, you commented on how silly Kate and Tom sounded for only having been together for 6 weeks. All I am saying is that yes, you also made a bit of a sweeping judgement without knowing somebody. Yes, calling somebody "silly" is different than some of the other comments, but it is still a judgement. We are all guilty of judging others, and we all will always judge others without ever knowing them. It's not possible to live life any other way. The key is to not let that judgement impare your ability to accept. And I specified IN THE PUBLIC, and that it's something I would not do.. mainly because it brings on comments like the one in this thread. Not a generalization or judgement... they DO look silly. That's a fact. My ability to accept it is moot.. it's none of my business.
  20. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Hey Steff, How do you know that about ticketmaster releasing more at noon and 5:45? And just curious, how many people do you think will be at each game this weekend? I might walk up, depending on if my brother gets off work.. I've gone solo too many times.. not as fun. My Spidey Sense tells me.. I think tonight will be near 32K.. tomorrow about the same and Sunday maybe a little lighter. The weather is supposed to be awesome all weekend.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) YAS, if you're driving I personally recommend parking at the church. That's where I park for every game I go to. You get out of there so quick after the game's it's unbelievable. That lot is going to be packed several hours before the game.. good if you're with a group.. bad if you're alone.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Yes. From Kentucky to the Cell. I responded to you via PM. For some reason I thought you were flying..
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) Steff ... are there any TG plans for that weekend? And the parking pass comment, what's up with that? Can't you just pay to park on the lot? The only 2 cash lots will be C and G. Are you driving...???
  24. QUOTE(56789 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) I dont think so. My friend got tickets from his uncle that works in the ticket booth. Thats all i really know Then you're going to have to park in the lot just west of the tracks down 33rd or 35th street. All the other lots are pass only for that series. Try to get into C (off 33rd) because they don't allow tailgating in G (off 35th). I would say noon is a good time to get there but like I said above you might not get into the lot until closer to 1.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) Not at all. There will be people up there earlier than that. Lots open 2 hours before.. sometimes 2 and a half.. there will be a line to get in 3 hours before.. but I doubt they'll be people in there already set up. But who knows.. maybe they will open them earlier.
