  1. According to the web site run by her parents the malpractice suit was paid out in 1998, and since near $450K has been paid to medical facilities and to lawyers with fees in excess of $200K still due. MHO, I think they should let her pass. Just basing that on what I would want. I, no matter how much my parents would want it, would not want to be such a burden. As well.. they are not medical professionals and could not care for me alone. The cost, I imagine, has got to be extreme.
  2. And he also said at the hearings and today that he made a mistake. Regardless.. I think he's right... that they are here to stay unless something drastic is done. Truth hurts I guess..
  3. I saw the Hamburgler and Grimace at the McDonalds on 53 in Bolingbrook today... the were dancing together.. very creepy..
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) ...and despite my agreeing with you re: Rob Thomas, the place will probably be packed to the gills. The ladies LOVE matchbox 20 and Rob in particular. I don't get it, but there ya go... But thank you for not being ignorant in expressing that opinion.
  5. QUOTE(easyw @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Rob Thomas? You might be the only one there, so I don't think it should be a problem. You'd have to pay me to see freakin Rob Thomas. I'm glad you wont be there.. the insistance to crap on someone for liking someone you don't is a personality I would rather not be around anyway.
  6. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) I wonder how much of this court battle is the husband and her family trying to get control of the malpractice money that the heir will get after her death. Call me a cynic. The money has already been paid out and most of it's gone. FWIU there's less than 20K left and that's going to be given to the hospis she's currently in. Michael also turned down 10 million.. IMO, that makes this not about $$ for him.
  7. I went to get my book signed by Jose today in Naperville... Told him I thought he did great on Thursday and he even entertained me when I asked a few questions. He was very nice to everyone that was there (300+ people), and awesome with the kids (don't do drugs in a very serious manner, not proud of himself, etc..).
  8. Going to see Rob Thomas... show starts at 7 I had figured we'd get there by 5... glad I asked as that sounds like it will be to early. Thanks..
  9. Anyone been there for a GA show..? Any advice on getting close to the stage? How early to get there, etc..??
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) I just took this life expectancy test, and found out I had a BMI of 14.68 which was too thin (of course) , and that I would live to 71.7 years. http://www.agingresearch.org/calculator/quiz.cfm Your calculated health span is 93.9 years. Below, please find the reasoning behind the questions, which you answered that made your score less than it should be: I was completely honest... even about the smoking.
  11. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 19, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) I do like McGwire and yes his homeruns will be tarnished, but he is doing the right thing by coming out, and I applaud him for that. "Coming out"...?? He refused to discuss anything. He sat there and weaped about the kid who killed himself yet didn't even want to comment about his use of Andro...? Big fat slap in the face, IMO.

    Jessica Lundsford....

John Couhey (sp?), the sex offender, admitted to abducting her and killing her.
  13. There's been a development in the Jessica Lundsford case - 9 year old girl missing in Florida for the past 3 weeks. They have a person of interest in custody - a man who has a criminal record of a sexual nature - and the home where the man lived (across the street from where the little girl lived) has been surrounded with crime scene tape. PC scheduled for 6:15... for Jessie and the entire Lundsford family.
  14. This is a link to a site that has a normal brain scan... http://www.cs.utah.edu/~flannery/utah.html This is a link to a site with a brain scan of Terri Schiavo, showing the liquification of her cerebral cortex: http://www.miami.edu/ethics2/schiavo/CT%20scan.png Notice the big empty space in the middle of her brain... nothing there.. and it will never "grow back"
  15. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) Perv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was trying to be NON-GENDER BIAS! Replace it with GIRLFRIEND OR BOYFRIEND! I probably should have used LOVER. I just didn't want to leave the single people out of the poll. It's assumed that you love the person at least in this poll. You should have just left it at spouse or life partner. I find your description ignorant and offensive to be honest with you.
  16. "Sexfriend"...? :dips*** smiley
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) I hate to leave good company, but I've got yo get outta here till tonight. Steff, I am so happy you feel the way you do about Jim. That's worth more than gold. I guess I've been jaded. However, I don't believe it's a permanent condition. I believe there is someone perfect for everyone out there... you'll find it again. I did.
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) It's the concept, Steff. I know I'd trust my parents more than any human beings on the face of the earth. Period. Alright Yas....... I don't agree. Period.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) I'm not saying he is. I can't see why this concept is so difficult to understand. I used a "worse case scenario" to empahsize a point. Maybe because Scott was/is a murderer from the get go. Michael has been there for Terri since day one of this. He's gotten experimental treatment for her.. gone broke for her.. put off moving on with his life for her.. (he could have divorced her and tossed her and her care to her parents.. but didn't). I can't compare the two.. I have no idea if Scott given the opportunity would have done the same.. but I know Michael would not have done what Scott did since he didn't.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) If someone feels like that about their spouse, they should not be married to them, IMHO. If you can't trust someone with the most important decesion of your life, what can you trust them with? I agree. There is nothing in my life that I do not trust Jim with. My parents have their own lives and issues. While I'm sure they would want what's best.. I would still trust Jim over them. JMO.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) OK. If Laci was in Terri Schiavo's situation, would Scott Peterson have had Laci's best interst at heart? Or would it have been an easy way to get her out of the way so he could play with Amber Frey? Michael is not Scott.. not in any way, shape, or form.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Sure. Because there is nothing like a parent's love for their child. So many marriages end in divorce and one or the other party would love for the other person to just die for financial reasons. It ain't pretty, but I've seen it. Now, I am a divorcee, but my divorce was very amicable and I still care for my ex-wife. I can all and talk to her any time I want to. We get along great, because we both respect each other. But so many people would let finances or emotions rule them if the situation presented itself as it has done in this case. Pull the tube, and in 2 weeks the problem goes away. I'm still lost on the Peterson comparison... But I understand the rest.. go figure.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) What a scumbag. I real man would stand up and finish the joke. ROTFLMAO!!!! OMG Critic... thanks I needed that laugh. Mike.. maybe you want to separate out the BMI stuff...? The hearing info is excellent reading (IMO) for those that didn't see it and I apologize for hijacking it.
  24. I eat like a horse..literally. Always have and have never weighted more than 122 lbs in all my life. I didn't start working out to lose anything. I've just always done it. But I will admit.. if I didn't do it I do wonder if I would get fat.. Not gonna stop to find out though. LOL.
  25. I have approximately a 15% increase from my waste to hips.. (just over 3"). I definitely don't count on, or am a slave to the BMI. I really just got into even considering it because I have always been slim and didn't have to do any target working out. Now I run more and lift less - not that I lifted much in the past.. but now I use less weight and increased any lifting I do by 10 to 15 reps. I only used to run 9 to 10 miles a week (3 or so miles 3X a week). Now I am doing 16 to 20 (4 miles 4 or 5 time a week) mainly because I feel better when I run. Do men have more problems with the love handles than women...? I can barely get a pinch of skin back there..
