  7. LMAO!! I just knew you were going to post something like this.. unfortunately.. it didn't help as I still almost choked when I read it..
  8. Jim just booked a room for 2 nights and we'll call next week or so when they all get their heads out of their butts and change the reservation to the fest deal. Some of those reservation takers are most definitely not working with a full deck.
  9. Jim secured the rooms and we'll just deal with the Sox when them and the Hyatt get their crap together.

Ugh.. no thank you. It's called MYOB. And I do it when things don't concern me.
  11. Started with Prodigy (that was the one with the huge yellow logo, right..?) a loooong time ago... then went to AOL shortly after that and been with them ever since. It was like the very start of AOL too. We were using the beta software to start. Yikes.. that sure was a long time ago. I think I bought my first home computer in '91. Has the internet been around that long..??? Thank God for Al Gore!!

Real quickly - I'm heading to a meeting in a few minutes.. see the "scouting reports" section. Then.. go ahead and do a Yahoo or MLB search.. it's all there for ya kiddo. http://baseball.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=4527 "A .321 career hitter through the 2000 season, Thomas hasn't hit above .267 since then, in part because of problems with the strike zone and frequent changes in his approach. He seemed to recognize his limitations in the second half of 2003, when he admitted that he was adopting a swing-for-the-fences mentality."

I'm trying here... I really am. But that one is making it difficult to give the benifit of the doubt that one can admit they were mistaken... :banghead

Why should I have to do your work for you..? You made a claim. You back it up. Until you do so.. you lied. Plain and simple. Nothing personal.. I call a spade a spade. Paul's way more PC than to say something so stupid. I'm siding with common sense in my belief that he did not, and would not, ever say such a thing. And I'm sorry if you don't like my commenting on the matter.. but it's my right and I will continue to call out that bulls*** claim you made.

I lost respect for you with your responses.. many of them, not just 1. And yes.. Frank's comments were well documented, as would Paul's had HE said them. I have every right to judge and take a side.. it's called an opinion. You didn't post a thread about favortism to take a shot at those getting favortism... yea.. umm.. ok. Abused.. on a internet message board... Hysterical.

Mr. Zero.. he didn't disrespect me by not siting a source.. and if he did I wouldn't care. He claimed I called him a liar... which made him a liar, over and above posting something Paul never said.

Oh hell.. I think that's twice this month I've made sense here.. As for why some do it...? Who knows. I know you boys like to measure pee pees... but for crying out loud at least do it over something important..

IMO, this is a really crazy thing to say.. here of all places. Not agreeing with mods and admins is something they (IMO) thrive on . It makes this place fun to know that you can have a disagreement and not be banned for it. As for respect.. who gives a s*** if you have 10 or 10,000,000 posts (i.e.. southsider - as most of us know he's full of s*** most of the time ). It's more about substance. I have no idea about the Olerud thread as I didn't read, my issue with butter came about in the Konerko thread when he claims Paul made a statement, with no proof to back it up, which sums up to bulls*** - IMO. And that's where a poster loses respect from me. To get respect you must give it.. I think that's something we all agree on. And- IMO - calling out admins and mods in a thread like this is a complete lack of respect. This is the 3rd time in the past 2 months this s*** has happened.. and that makes me sick. Not ONE of us "regular posters" contributes to the upkeep of this site.. be thankful you have Soxtalk to post at. Don't like it.. leave. And if you don't like something someone says to you.. deal with them versus whining like a baby and calling people out. You catch more flies with honey is how the saying goes...
  20. He had an infection from a bed sore and it progressed to other parts of his body. Likely the medicatons caused things to slow down and that caused him to slip into a coma ultimately causing the heart failure. Sad..
  21. He's been off roids (confirmed with testing when Jose's book came out) for several years now. IIRC.. he had to have some of his liver removed and he stopped using them when it was confirmed that they were eating it away. I don't know anything about Coke other than it increases the rate at which your heart pumps and keeps you awake. I have no idea if the "high" is a stabalizing one - meaning that you can work out effectively on it. I remember seeing Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in Blow being all coked up and out of it.. not exactly prime workout material.
  22. Not just roids either. Roids are not even close to as widely used as other drugs. Very sad situation.
  23. FWIW.. It's my opinion that the Coke killed him not the roids. From what I have heard roids appear to be linked more to stomach and liver issues versus heart issues.
  24. But it does cause the muscles to "forget" their jobs. When my girlfriend broke her pelvis she was literally unable to walk for just over 2 months. When she finally got up.. it took a couple weeks before she was sure on her feet again.
  25. No, they don't. They loved it here. But Rex is right.. Ray doesn't want anything more to do with the Sox. Justifiably so.
