  1. Another is that Frank and Jerry are a lot closer than Jerry and Maggs. For whatever reason, like with Tony, Jerry picks some to "bring into the family". If Tony had been content with the bench (which I did not agree with and always though he would flourish with more PT) he'd still be here as well.
  2. Boy.. that thread brought back some memories..
  3. I'm not sure about that Fan. I vaguely recall Corg stating that Jerry stopped the deal when Kenny was on a plane. I believe there's an old thread about it here and if not, at least 10,000 of them on the MLB boards I'm sure..
  4. It's been "going around" for 3 years. I can't imagine Kenny trying to trade Frank and Jerry telling him no wasn't some sort of clue.. . As for Frank wanting to leave the Sox.. I doubt it. His kids here being the number 1 reason, and a good one at that. Not to mention he's 35 and hasn't played at first for more than 20 or so games in how many years..?
  5. In a nutshell.. it's when the tissue between the vertebrae becomes strained, injured, or swollen, and it pushes the nerves around it to rub against the other vertebrae (back bone). Not fun.
  6. Guys.. Frank would likley not accept a trade to a NL team, so even if there were, he'd veto it.
  7. I wish I could answer, but I have no idea...
  8. Ethically, you are right on the money. What I think might bite Hawk in the butt is how he pretty much attacked him in regards to him calling the Sox and their underacheivements out. The only thing Jay has EVER done right is ALWAYS lay the blame on Jerry. Jerry being cheap has been a huge story for him. That, and if the Sox fail again, and Hawks rant could give him more ammo. That's all I mean. Of course all of it will be just more media bs.. but geez... haven't there been enough negative stories written about the Sox...?
  9. It'll be awesome if we do something. Otherwise.. it'll give Jay even MORE to use against us in print. And he'll absolutely crush Hawk while doing it.
  10. You know you just jinxed us don't you...
  11. Actually, I did and the backlash was not pretty. Go figure . So I didn't post another word about it on the board. As for the payroll.. Brando I think we're all in the same boat as far as speculating what may or may not happen. After the weekend and reading EE's comments today.. I say we're screwed big time. Combine that with Hawk's mouth and I think we're going to be crucified even worse in the media this year.
  12. Like back at the start of November when it was mentioned here..
  13. Like my computer was doing to you the other night!!
  14. And I look down to see 15 guests, and 1 anonymous member on the site. Guests, I assume, are folks not registered, correct..? But the anonymous member... that one, for whatever reason, has chosen to make themselves anonymous, right..? Do any of you do that on a regular basis? And if so, why..? Just curious...
  15. And then they grow up to be... uhh....
  16. The showing was warned BEFORE it was aired. And IMO viewing of breasts regarding a cancer storyline is much more acceptable than a half time show during the superbowl.
  17. I keep hearing this joke about maybe it's better they aren't on TV since they suck so bad and would make people sick
  18. If what Eddie says here is the truth, and truly the way they run the business, then this is exactly right. Baseball is still the love of many regardless of the strike. If there wasn't a choice there would definitely be more revenue in the Sox kitty.
  19. I agree with you YAS.... Most rumors are put out there for a reason. Like we've seen here, more than half the BS in print ends up being just that. Heck.. only TWO things came true from what I heard this off season - of at least 2 dozen rumors - Sidney going back to the O's (regardless of the source ) and Mark signing. I have no doubt that things aren't discussed in passing. Some of them are just too out there not to have crossed the lips of someone other than the reporter. Does it make them lies.. naa. Just means they didn't work out.
