  2. QUOTE(kane0730 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) Pods would have taken strike 3 at least twice today off Rogers. I'd rather that than what Pablo is doing.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) 2 out triple Widger sets up low and away, Count tosses it up and over the plate. It's Widgers fault obviously.
  4. Whoa.. a leadoff hitter WATCHING the pitch. That would be nice. Shame we have one thats on the bench.
  5. Ozuna needs to learn how to watch a pitch or two when he's leading off the game.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) What happened exactly? AJ was standing behind the plate, Monroe crosses the plate, celebrates with his teammates, starts to walk towards the dugout and just bumps into AJ. Next time he's up, they talk about something. AJ said Monroe apologized, Monroe said that he was asking about why he'd have to elbow him when he walked into AJ. Neither of the managers had any idea what happened or that anything happened in the press conference. (according to ESPN)
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) Is it raining in Detroit??? I don't think so. First pitch is delayed until 1:25 though because the tarp was on the field.
  8. ESPN talking about AJ "being in the middle of" Monroe walking into him after the grand slam. They really are looking for something to talk about.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 12:38 PM) I would say that the downgrade from BA to Mack is MUCH larger than the downgrade from Podsednik to Ozuna. I consider Ozuna in LF much worse than Mackowiak in CF, but thats just me.
  10. *sigh* Ozuna in the outfield in Detroit.. why does this happen? Do we just want to lose? Everyone complains about how bad Mackowiak is and how Anderson should be in instead, well, the same holds true for Ozuna. He's a significant downgrade in defense in LF.. and thats saying something.
  11. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) perhaps go with a green and yellow background and a qb who has made it through a full season But shouldn't it have a reigning division champion on it? Putting green and yellow there wouldn't make sense.
  12. Do you believe in the Rally Crede? (if needed, explain the Rally Crede to him, and yes, I'm serious) If you had to choose, who is the one person that has helped you throughout your baseball career the most? Do you have a nickname? If so, how did it come around?
  13. QUOTE(ViperPilot @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 09:10 PM) You're kidding, right? I hope so too :rolly
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) It was a slider. Jenks sucks btw.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) Yep, they keep getting lucky that Vazquez hangs pitches. They had a couple of bloopers, but they capitalized on some awful pitches. Its just a high curveball
  16. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Pods is useless in my eyes now. Why?
  17. Rally Crede! FSN Detroit announcers: "He is a nice player"
  18. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) No, but Thome walks...a lot! That's why I think he, AJ and Dye will all be above .300 at year end. Konerko will be in the .290s. Thome has walked a lot his whole career. What make this year so special?
  19. I like it (really, I don't know what else to say)
  20. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) But why? He has by far the best career batting average of those listed. I realize his month by month splits aren't terrific, but he's still well above the .300 mark. To think he won't stay above it is dumb at this point, IMO. His averages by the month: April: .342 May: .322 June: .302 July: .271 His homerun totals per month: April: 0 May: 2 June: 2 July: 3 I think that he's starting to go into the uppercut swing more, which is the reason he hit .257 last year. While I would like to see him stick with the contact swing, I don't think he will, and by the end of the year, I expect him to hit around .290 or so. Also, .313 isn't "well above the .300 mark".
  21. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) You don't think AJ can hit .300+ by season's end? I believe thats what I said, yes.
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) Can we have five starting players bat .300 or higher this season? Dye .316 AJ .313 Konerko .310 Thome .303 Crede .301 Iguchi .291 I doubt that AJ, Thome, or Iguchi will hit .300 at the seasons end, and I don't know if Paulie or Crede will either (although they'll be close to .300, like the others)
