  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Its not like Mackowiak has really been better with the bat...maybe I should go double check and see for sure but whenever I see him he is getting out. Anderson: .129/.206/.194 3:13 BB:K Mackowiak: .136/.240/.136 2:7 BB:K

  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 16, 2006 -> 09:50 AM) Look I loved Aaron as much as the next person, but he's still got some serious flaws to his offensive game that need improving such as his plate discipline. I don't think anyone is denying that, but the same is said for Torii Hunter. Hunter isn't much better on offense, if at all, and thats what is being argued.
  4. WGN Lets go Sox Just a side note, I'm watching the game from yesterday on MLB.tv right now, and I must say, the Toronto announcers are pretty good.
  5. Just for kicks, Torii Hunter had an error last night on a bobble too (or at least, it should have been called an error. it doesn't look like it was though)
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Anyone got a link to where I can see Iguchi's throw? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=260415104 Gooch's play was #2 on Sportscenters top 10, #1 was Jackie Robinson.
  7. Did you watch the games last year? If you did, which I'm assuming that you did, I don't know how you can deny the fact that he deserved a gold glove.

  9. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) I have been trying to wtatch the archived version of the game on MLB tv to see the Iguchi play among others, but it says that the game is not archived- even though all the later games that are finised have been archived. Is anyone else having this problem? There's something with afternoon games on Saturday's that make them get archived later. You should be able to watch it after 6 AM EST tomorrow morning IIRC (at least, it was like this last year)
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) Torii Hunter being the superior offensive player is debated to say the least. Just because Andruw Jones plays the same position doesn't mean Rowand can't win a GG this year. As a matter of fact I think Arow has a damn good chance. Rowand has a chance, but merely because of the postseason, the Yankees series last year, and being traded to the Phillies for Jim Thome. All of these things put his name on the map, and since we know that the media basically picks the GG winner (usually at least), he's got a chance.
  11. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) He's a better offensive player and defensive player period... Yes. match them both up in the same amount of games.. Hunter comes out on top! You've said this, but you haven't backed it up with anything that means anything.
  12. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Just using one from your book, duh. hence last years? I only mentioned last years because you claimed that Hunter was still the better offensive player for having more HR and RBI.
  13. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) lol with 59 more games played.. try career. Hunter has played in more seasons, so duh, he'll have more.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) That's not fair, because Rowand played in more games. Thats true, but he claimed that Hunter was still the better offensive player because he had more HR and RBI
  15. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) Hunter has won more games for the twins than Rowand has for the Sox Win Shares last year Rowand: 11.4 batting, 7.6 fielding Hunter: 8.5 batting, 3.8 fielding
  16. QUOTE(Ishmookie @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) i bet garland will bounce back. he pitched too well last year and this year in spring training to revert back to his old form. One year wonders. They exist throughout baseball. For example, look at Adrian Beltre, or hell, Brady Anderson in 1996.
  17. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) Stronger case is Crede vs Chavez... I'll take Hunters over Rowands defense anyday! Hunter didn't even play 100 games.. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Not to mention his bat as well. Bats should have nothing to do with the gold glove.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Jim Edmonds doesn't look as automatic this year as he has in the past. Its all about the name, not the play in the field. I think that Torii Hunter and Aaron Rowand proved that last year, or Derek Jeter and Juan Uribe.
  19. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) No gold glove for him in the NL either. He didn't have much of a chance with Andrew Jones and Jim Edmonds automatically taking up two of them.
  20. Rowand is 2/4 so far with a run scored and with an error (bobble).
  21. Re: Thread title Sox fans think their is the same as they're?
  22. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) How 'bout now? I don't like the border, but the rest of the sig is solid
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) Well considering he's easily better than Brian "white hope" Urlacher Or not... But yea, letting him walk = idiocy
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 15, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) I'm going to play devils advocate a bit here: the play was unreal but it was that good because Tad made it that good by tripping and stumbling over himself. The throw that he got off was ridiculous but it didn't have to be that hard. EDIT: And I don't want to make it seem like I'm saying the play wasn't great because I don't think I've ever seen anyone get a throw off like that before, the throw was beyond unbelievable. I'm just saying that he did kind of make it harder on himself. Yea, thats basically how I feel. It was a great play, but it had a Rey Ordonez feel to it.
