QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:49 PM) Josh Smith from 16-23 feet usually has all the time he wants and nobody in his face. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) This is true. Very true. Smith also gets assisted on a lot of his shots from that range, unlike Rose who is generally creating his own shot (which also plays into your point about hands in his face). Still, it's interesting to look at the perception of both players shots when the reality is there isn't that large a difference in their shots.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) He's not shooting that well in the playoffs is he? Because there's no way in hell he can average 16 points a game shooting the way he did for most of this series. I seriously doubt it from what my eyes have seen, but I haven't looked at the numbers. I was just saying that during the regular season, they were very comparable shooters from distance.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Josh Smith's jump shot is the best thing ever invented for any defense he plays. The funny thing about this is that Josh Smith shot better (albeit by 1%) from 16-23 feet than Rose did this year. He also had the same eFG from 3 as Rose this year. So really, any Bulls fan making fun of Josh Smith's jump shot...

QUOTE (Felix @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) The pessimism in this thread is downright hilarious right now. The game isn't over yet. The sky isn't falling. There's a whole quarter left. Wait, what?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 10, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) DEREK. ROSE. The unintentional humor in this is priceless.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) So because they got favorable officiating for most of the game, it makes it ok to have abysmal officiating in the final 12 minutes? The officiating is not why the Bulls lost the game.

Since when did Chris Webber take over the Bulls?

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:39 PM) That inadvertent whistle was bull s***. It was very, very odd. Not sure I've seen it before, and it definitely should have been a foul and three shots. That said, it's not why the Bulls lost. The Bulls lost because their post defense was REALLY bad.
-
That was totally a foul. Very bizarre non-call.

QUOTE (Real @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) lol Rose 9/27, that's a nice even 33.3% On the plus side, he seems to finally have learned that he shouldn't be shooting the three all that much.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- Damien Wilkins: once a Timberwolf, always a Timberwolf

QUOTE (Brian @ May 8, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) Changed the channel after Odom got booted. What did Bynum do? http://gif.mocksession.com/2011/05/bynum-is-scum/ Looks very similar to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ed3umTuRTqo to me

pfft, you aren't even in chat

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 7, 2011 -> 10:34 AM) No nearly as laugable as calling his last game terrible. The hawks aren't helping you out much this series. Why am I a Hawks fan suddenly? I really couldn't care less about this matchup for the Bulls, there's no reason they shouldn't advance.
-
It's really laughable how defensive you guys are. But hey, Rose had a fantastic game. Congrats.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 4, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) You're just not going to convince me that 25/10/6 in the postseason is "really, really bad." Normally it wouldn't be, but when it comes with more shots than points, including another 8 3PA night, and eight turnovers, I'm not going to be convinced that it was a good game. Also, directed at FOP, I think it was already pointed out how flawed a stat +/- is, so citing that as a reason he was good is kind of absurd. This really isn't worth arguing about though, so I'll shut up.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 4, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) I would have loved to have you commenting on some of the Jordan performances back in the day... Jordan never came close to averaging the number of threes Rose averaged a game this year. He realized his limitations, and instead got to the line way more on a regular basis.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 4, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) Oh jeesh. I think "horrible" may be a bit strong. Not his best game, but he's playing on an injured ankle with an offense where he basically has to generate everything. Horrible is very accurate for his game. You can say that some/most (depending on your outlook) of that is because of the ankle, which is certainly true, but it doesn't mean the game wasn't horrible. He was really, really bad.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2011 -> 09:34 PM) Somebody needs to tell Derrick to stop shooting these. If you want to fix your jumpshot, do it in practice. At this point, is it even defendable? He's a great player and he had a great season, but it's really laughable how bad his deep shot is. There is no excuse for him to shoot it as much as he does.
-
Chanting MVP for a player that had more shots than points and 8 turnovers. I get that he won the award, but that was a bad game.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 4, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) 'Tis not true but close enough. Happened four times this year, in fact

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Kyle Korver was a +17 today in 16 minutes. Bogans played some decent D on Johnson for a stretch, but it speaks volumes how good the Bulls were when Korver was on the floor tonight. Luol Deng was -9, and frankly, I don't buy that at all. He was a huge reason why the game was as close as it was at half.
