  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) Rose should drive every play and just abandon the 3 pointer. I know I'm not a Bulls fan, but it makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever how often he takes the three. He can get to the rim whenever he wants. Why is he settling for that three so often, especially since he doesn't shoot them at an average (let alone above average) rate?
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) I'm not sure how saying that Adam Dunn told Felix he is a f***ing joke is a personal attack but duly noted. I would suggest that you need to get out of your parents' basement and get laid every once in a while though. It might lighten you up. I actually have the windows open. It's really quite nice.
  3. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) No one is attacking you personally we are just speaking facts here.... yes you were correct more often than not Dunn will be heading back to the dugout but more often that not won't all the MLB players be doing so as well? I never said anything to the contrary. You're all reading wayyyyyyyyy too much into what I've said. If you like facts, how about these? FACT: Dunn strikes out a lot. FACT: Dunn doesn't manufacture runs. FACT: Dunn clogs up the bases FACT: Dunn will NEVER compete for a batting title. FACT: Dunn HAS NEVER won 81 or more games in a season. FACT: Since adding Dunn, the team's defense has gotten considerably worse. FACT: Dunn CANNOT bunt at all. None of this is disputable, and it is the exact reason why we need to drop this dead weight sooner rather than later.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) Kind of sad when you have to use semantics to win an argument. Kind of sad when you threaten me to not personally attack anyone, then promptly ignore it when others do the same to me.
  5. QUOTE (supernuke @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Actually, more often than not almost all hitters will be walking back to the dugout with their head down. Not to many guys have OBPs over .500. I never said anything to the contrary. I simply pointed out a statistical fact that Dunn will be out more often than he will be safe, and then I was told I was wrong. That's simply not the case.
  6. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) More often than not he ll be getting his way on base... just as his OBP indicates Really? I mean, really? His OBP is over .500? Anything under .500 means that you are getting out more often than you're getting on-base. So no, more often than not, he'll be out.
  7. Fact of the matter is that Dunn is just another lift and pull player. He'll get lucky on some dingers, but more often than not he'll be walking back to the dugout with his head down. A specialty of the Walker era as hitting coach.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) I feel like Dunn is Sosa-esque. When he has the chance to put us up, he strikes out. When he's not the tying run, he has no problem delivering. You know who else this reminds me of? Jim Thome. Sure he'll hit a bunch of dingers and gets his numbers, but when it comes down to it, he's not the guy you want with the bat in his hand and runners in scoring position at the end of the game.
  9. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) Ya Weaver only leads the league in Ks, and had a 3.01 Era last yr (let alone 0.87 Era and a 15 K performance against a good hitting Blue jays club) I ask you does that define a joke of a pitcher. And he's obviously lost it during the rain delay. It was an awful pitch. I'm pretty sure Kalapse could have destroyed that one.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) Hate to break it to you but his OPS is now .926. Big blow. OPS? Why would anyone care about that? What's his batting average now?
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Adam Dunn just told you that you are a f***ing joke Felix. Also, I'll note yet another personal attack against me. I guess the rules only go one way...
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Adam Dunn just told you that you are a f***ing joke Felix. So what, we've learned he can hit a batting practice pitch from a joke of a pitcher? What's the big deal?
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) What's his OPS? OBP? Pit/PA? Just curious, are those bordering on the production of Mario Mendoza? What's his average? K/PA?
  14. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) False... the fate of the White Sox title chances land heavily on Peavy. I didn't disagree with that. I said that we can't depend on him, or his injury concerns. Sure, if he's a Cy Young, MAYBE we'd win 90, but that's so unrealistic of an expectation it's not even worth addressing.
  15. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) I dunno what makes you say that. He has 1 Hr, and 5 Rbis in 6 games that he has played with a .414 OBP. What is so horrible about that? Yes, let's cherrypick stats that make him look good. 1 HR in 7 games (tonight's counts). Hrmmmmmmmmmm.. that's on pace for.. let's do the math here.. carry the one..... 23 this season. HE CAN'T HIT AL PITCHING.
  16. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) You simply cannot write off a guy based on what happened last yr. The guy is simply too talented to not talk about success. Ok, so let's talk about the month or two he'll give us before blowing out his elbow. He'll be erratic, still trying to find his control, and then he'll get hurt again. We cannot depend on him in the future.
  17. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) This thread is REALLY just a joke, right?? ... Have you not read anything I've said? What would give you that idea? Dunn simply isn't the type of player we need if we want to win the AL Central. He's not a team player and he's just going to hurt our offense. We need players that can manufacture runs, not players that butcher opportunities.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) Your face is preposterous. Your alias is preposterous.
  19. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) Well, that's rather preposterous. You're rather preposterous.
  20. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) And why do you think the team won't win 90 games? I know there's the concern of the bullpen but I am confident things will get ironed. But wat is u reason to believe the team will not win 90 games. That was more about a healthy Peavy than anything. Isn't it obvious that we aren't going to get that? KW was fleeced. It happens. Let's move on and hope for a brighter tomorrow. And a brighter tomorrow can only be a roster without Dunn.
  21. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) Say it with confidence my friend .... this team can definitely win 90+ games with the addition of Dunn and having a healthy Peavy. Can we bring Frank Thomas back from the grave too? Hell, let's sign Barry Bonds while we're at it. Isn't he still a FA?
  22. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) Dunn was playing on some horrible teams, One guy cannot simply lead a team into playoffs in the game of baseball. Your arguements just totally ignore players talent and just look at the teams overall success. Never has or will one player simply single handedly lead a team into the postseason in MLB. With your arguments then I guess we will just write off the great careers of players (who btw are Hall of Fame bound) like Carlos Delgado and Jim Thome just to name a few simply due to the fact they have never won a World Series. One guy can't lead a team into the playoffs? What? Joey Votto did exactly that last year for the Reds. He was that team, and made everyone around him better. With Dunn on the team, that simply would not have happened.
  23. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) listen. This isn't about "led your team" to anything do you think Dunn > Kotsay? If so, it's a net win for us, end of story. We won 88 games last year, so if all stays even, and we add Dunn, that potentially to - dare I say - 90 wins. Clearly you haven't read a word I said. QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) I mean, I know it's still early, but this is the type of production we're getting out of the DH spot? Sure it's better than Mark Kotsay, but that's not saying much. Just because a player is better than Mark Kotsay means s***. It's like saying you're taller than the midget at the carnival. Big deal, so is everyone else.
  24. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) i didn't realize there was a stat called LTP, or Led Team to Playoffs! How awesome. Anyone that actually watches Dunn night in and out can show you the impact he's having on the team. And it's very clearly not a positive one.
  25. QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) When was the last time Dunn led his team to the playoffs, let alone a World Series title? Don't worry, I'll wait. Ok, ok, that was unfair. How about the last time Dunn led his team to 82 wins?
