  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) He still had the best dunk of the night though(vince carter) so I'm not too upset. I'd put that dunk at 4th best of the night. McGee's double dunk was easily #1 for me, in terms of difficulty and creativity.
  2. The first round was great, but it was painfully obvious the whole thing was rigged to put Blake into the finals (which isn't to say his dunks weren't good, but when his second dunk got a better score than DeRozan's and Ibaka's first dunks, it was obvious).
  3. Griffin didn't deserve to be in the finals.

    Learning guitar

So after avoiding it for awhile, I've finally broken down and bought an electric guitar. I used to play drums through middle and high school, but they really aren't practical when you're living in an apartment the size of mine right now. Guitars are a lot more portable, and all you really need is a good pair of headphones to go with your amp and there shouldn't be any noise issues (another major problem with drums). Right now I'm basically just going through YouTube and Google to find tabs for some easy songs to work through some basic chord progressions (House of the Rising Sun is starting things off). Fingers hurt like a b****, but I'll get used to that Anyone have any tips for starting out?

Anyone ever listen to the Residents?
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) You guys play at a higher pace than G.S.? That's surprising. Golden State is 4th Wolves 99.8, New York 98.6, Denver 98.2, Golden State 97.2 Houston 97.0, Indiana 97.0 round out the top 5 Of course, part of this is because of the high turnover rate. Another part is our porous defense which gives opponents good looks early in the shot clock. Those are just inherent flaws in pace in general, though. EDIT: Actually, we're right in the middle in terms of defensive pace it looks like. Interesting read on the topic of pace: http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2011/1/24/1952...urs-suns-knicks
  7. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) I think the Wolves are certainly fine on the offensive side of things anyways, it's the defense which really causes them a lot of issues. I wouldn't say that's the case either. We play at the highest pace in the league which certainly inflates our raw PPG. We shoot fairly poorly as a team despite shooting well from beyond the arc, but until the team becomes more efficient (and less turnover prone), I'm not going to say they're fine offensively.
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) You look at the players he's drafted for instance, Rubio and Flynn neither looks like a difference maker (Rubio is struggling more and more in Europe while Flynn obviously doesn't fit the triangle system). As someone who literally watches just about every Wolves game (I only miss the non-televised road games), I'd say the myth that the Wolves run a triangle offense is vastly overhyped.
  9. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) If I was Glenn Taylor (Minny's Owner) I'd be doing all I can to bringing in Jerry Sloan and cleaning slate on Rambis and Kahn, would be interesting to see what that team would do with an actual decent head coach. This will never happen for too many reasons to list.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) Did you know? Joe Mauer has never won a playoff game. True story. Not clutch
  11. 2 straight wins for the Timberwolves on the road RUN FOR YOUR LIVES THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END (also 38 straight and counting.. most consecutive in the last 25 years... next up, Moses Malone with 44 straight in 1982-83)
  12. Batum, on Derrick Rose: "He's a great offensive player...he can't play defense."
  13. QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) Wolves up 14 in New Orleans at the half Final: Wolves 104, Hornets 92 what the f***
  14. QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) 37 straight double-doubles ho hum Up 12 going into the fourth Time for Kevin Love to sabotage the team's attempt to win
  15. Wolves up 14 in New Orleans at the half
  16. Except Bargnani is about as bad as can be on defense. And yeah, he's really not that good.
  17. Goddamn right Kevin Love is an All-Star. Thank you for not being an idiot, David Stern.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) I think he considers anyone who questions Kevin Love as a top 10 player (me, and I'm right) to be a hater. I have never said that he's a top 10 player. Find me the post where I say that, and I'll stop posting in this thread. I guess "Kevin Love haters" is a bit extreme, but I think there are a lot of people (in this thread including) that discredit him for his team's overall performance. And personally, I think it's absolutely absurd that anyone would blame Love for his team's inability to win games. And really, anyone that's watched the Wolves this year would recognize that. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) All though I am about bored to death with the daily hand-job he gets. Man, if you're "bored to death" about Kevin Love, I hate to think about what you are with Derrick Rose on these forums.
  19. For the Kevin Love haters: http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/201...nts/?ref=sports
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) Can't penalize him because he plays with two of the top 5 players in the game. And yet Kevin Love is penalized for playing with terrible teammates. That makes no sense.
  21. Charles is awesome. And this is f***ing disgusting.
  22. "Phoenix's Steve Nash is a strong favorite to replace the injured Yao Ming on the Western Conference roster, sources told Y! Sports" f***ing ridiculous.
