  1. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) California is a really good album. Just listened to it, really, really impressed at the different varieties that they can play well. The song Pink Cigarette is so disturbingly fantastic. Incredible song. Holy s*** I'm hooked on California. This is the best thing musically I've found in a long time. I realize very few people care probably, but goddamn it's good.
  2. The refs in this Minnesota/Virginia game are laughably bad. Mbakwe just had one of the most blatant offensive goaltendings possible, and they somehow missed it.
  3. Only the first time since 91-92 that a player has put up 20/20 four times in a single month. No biggie.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) I'm almost in shock when I come home when I didn't watch the game and see that Joakim actually didn't have double digit rebounds.
  5. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 26, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) I think Disco Volante and California are two of my favorite albums of the 90s. Just so far out there. California is a really good album. Just listened to it, really, really impressed at the different varieties that they can play well. The song Pink Cigarette is so disturbingly fantastic. Incredible song.
  6. I'd say a better thing to draw from this is that you can't really tell anything conclusively about one game.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) God I can't wait for Boozer. We went toe-to-toe with the Lakers for most of a game without him. We need a second sniper though, for nights like this when Korver is off. The Timberwolves played the Lakers closer than the Bulls in L.A. And we were missing Luke Ridnour, Martell Webster, Wayne Ellington and Jonny Flynn (all of whom might not be great players, but are far better than the alternatives that were in the game instead.. Mo Ager? Lazar Hayward? Sebastian Telfair?). Just saying.
  8. QUOTE (skyhigh @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) Mr. Bungle rate is 8 out of 10 for me... QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) One of my friends was really big into them (and Mike Patton in general) a while back. I had heard of them but hadn't listened to them until yesterday, when I listened to their first album. It's pretty good stuff. A little eclectic, but that's rarely a bad thing.
  9. I'm probably reaching here, but anyone ever listen to Mr. Bungle?
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 21, 2010 -> 09:18 PM) Congrats Felix! Really enjoyed watching Minnesota play the last couple of days. Hofbarber is a hell of a player, as he does so much to help Minn win. Mbakwe is also a great addition. s*** would have been different last year if we had Mbakwe. Today is actually the first Gopher game I've been able to watch this year, and although the offense was rough to watch at times (especially against the zone... again), it's really great to see the development that Al Nolen and our bigs have made over the years. We could be pretty damn good this year, if Joseph comes back and starts adding some extra scoring. Hoff can only get open for his threes so often.
  11. Rodney Williams might have a huge ceiling and a big future ahead of him, but he's REALLY raw has to make some serious improvements if he wants to be a lottery pick. It's still really early in the season of course, but from the looks of it, he'd be silly to leave college after this season.
  12. I was working tonight and missed the Gopher game, but good to see them make some noise and get a quality OOC win for their resume. Should be an exciting team once Devoe Joseph gets off of his mysterious suspension.
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Are they ever gonna get Rubio or did he wash his hands of Minnesota Yes No Also, Kevin Love averaged 20+ points and 20+ rebounds on the week and didn't win PotW. lol
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) Dennis Rodman's career high in rebounds was 34... in case you were wondering Last person to put up 30 rebounds was Barkley in 1996. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) Felix, your Wolves may not win a lot of games but they could be fun to watch is Beasley stays out of trouble and Flynn comes back. I still have the Wolves pegged for ~30 wins. Are we going to be in contention for a playoff spot? No. But are we in a much better position than we were last year or the year before? Most certainly. This team has potential, and is still incredibly young with some good core players. I don't think the playoffs are too far away in the future (maybe two or three seasons), assuming normal player development occurs. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Beasley seems like the kind of player that will be fine as long as there isn't any pressure. Give him another star or two to play with, and keep him out of places like NYC and he should be a good player. I think part of his problem was his age when he first went to Miami. He's still only 21 years old, and his expectations out of college were enormous. He's got little to no pressure here in Minnesota, and he'll finally have a chance to develop without people over-analyzing everything he does. It's really a great situation for him.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) Nobody noting that Beasley's been solid alongside him as well? Second time in Twolves history a player has scored 35+ points in back to back games. Only the 15th time in team history that two players have scored 30+ in the same game. Beasley was the man down the stretch. He wanted the ball, wanted to take the shots, and he nailed them. These last two games have been amazing for him, and really a great look at the type of player he could become with more consistency. It was noticed. Trust me
  16. The last time someone put up a 30/30 game was Moses Malone in 1982. He did it twice in his career. Nate Thurmond sits in second place all-time with four 30/30 games. First place? Wilt Chamberlain... 103 times. Over his last 3 games, Love is averaging 21 points and 21 rebounds. It's the second time in those three games that he's eclipsed the 20/20 mark (and no one noticed when he did it before). He had fifteen rebounds in the 3rd quarter. That is just downright absurd. f***ing amazing game.
  17. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) Kevin f***ing Love I'm just saying KEVIN LOVE The dude outrebounded the entire Knicks team in the second half. By 5.
  18. Wolves lose, but they were in the game the whole way and didn't bend over for a much better team, unlike their past road performances this season. Love put up 23 and 24 (yes, 24 rebounds) in 38 minutes!!!111, including 11 offensive rebounds. Too many turnovers and missed shots did us in though, but it's hard to be discouraged with the loss.
  19. Timberwolves beating the Lakers through a quarter?
  20. f*** yes. Nice win for Utah. Who'd have thought they'd beat the Heat in a game where D-Will fouls out and Jefferson scores 2 points?
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) He's been out of trouble since arriving in Ames. He was responsible for everything that happened to him here in Minnesota and he never seemed like he really understood that actions have repercussions. I was glad that he took time away from the basketball team to figure out his s***, but he essentially blamed the school for how it handled him, which is pretty much bulls***. I feel no sympathy for him. On the other hand, I hope the Mayor does well. Classy guy and a standup act that deserves success down in ISU.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) Are we really discussing plausability in a show about zombies walking the earth? Ha What's implausible about the zombie apocalypse? It's coming.
  23. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) I was helping the thread along, but I quite enjoy the genre from the late 70s through early 80s. I have no opinion on the genre from the 70s and 80s. The trash from the 00s though... yeah....
