  1. Wow. Purdue looks terrible right now. I mean, the Gophers are playing well, but a lot of this is Purdue's own fault.
  2. Great start to this game for the Gophers. We're really playing well defensively and actually executing offensively, which is nice to see for a change
  3. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) Damian Johnson is hurt. f***. We'll need him if we want to win this game. And he's back on the floor... nice.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Btw look at Wisconsin's resume from last year and tell me how it clearly trumps Illinois's this year. Less quality wins, identical 10-8 finish in the Big 10, they lost to OSU in the 4-5 game of the Big 10 tournament. They did have two less losses and no real bad losses but still. There isn't a big difference between the teams resumes. http://www.kenpom.com/team.php?y=2009&team=Wisconsin Comparing resumes from year to year is rather pointless, given how much is dependent on other bubble teams.
  5. Damian Johnson is hurt. f***. We'll need him if we want to win this game.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Also, Gus Johnson should only be allowed to announce the last minute of NCAA tourney games that are close and nothing else. I find him irritating the vast majority of the time. I've grown to agree with you ever since he started doing Big Ten games. He's a moron, and he's only really good in the closing minutes of tight games.
  7. Ok, Gophers. Time to beat Purdue and steal the spot away from Illinois.
  8. I don't even know who I want to win this game between Illinois and Ohio State. Illinois is bigger bubble competition, but I like our matchup in a potential title game against them much more than against OSU.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) It has looked like UTEP is throwing the game down the stretch. Yeah, they've played some terrible basketball.
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) Some of those are stretching the punk genre a bit, IMO. I'd say a lot of them are stretching the punk genre Then again, I think there's a clear distinction between Punk and New Wave, and I think there are multiple bands in that list that fall into the New Wave category.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Its very hard to beat a team 3 times in a season, my money is on Illinois today. By that logic, but Illinois and Minnesota are going to advance. That'd certainly make for an interesting matchup in the finals.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) One thing is for sure is that neither team can blame anybody but themselves if they don't get in. I haven't seen Minnesota as much as Illinois this year, and they've certainly had worse luck with losing players, but from what I have seen, they seem comparable in that they just have some easily avoidable losses which are the only reason they are even on the bubble in the first place. We lost to both Purdue and Michigan State at home by 1 (despite having the ball for the last possession of both games), both of which we should have won. We lost in OT to Indiana on the road in a game that we should have won down the stretch (and there was a ridiculously bad foul call that helped Indiana down the stretch which didn't help things). We lost in OT at Northwestern, by one against Texas A&M on a neutral court, and by 5 against both Miami and Portland. The team couldn't finish games all season which definitely hurt, but if a couple of those games went our way, we'd have been a tournament lock before the Big Ten tourney even started. Oh, and we lost our starting point guard (and one of the best defensive guards in the nation) for Big 10 play and played the whole season without our top 2 recruits entering the year (Royce White and Trevor Mbakwe). So yeah, it's been an ugly, ugly year to be a Gopher fan.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) Umm, you do realize the Illini played and lost to s***ty teams too? Illinois bad losses: neutral vs Utah, neutral vs Bradley, @ Georgia Minnesota bad losses: @ Indiana, @ Michigan, Michigan, neutral vs Portland, @ Miami If you want, you can include losses at NU for both teams, but I don't think there's much of a doubt that Minnesota has had worse losses than Illinois.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) I think we're ok in the ACC, but i'm worried about those other 3 things. I think Minnesota should be in right now over Illinois since they beat them in Champaign, but fortunately that's not how it works. Illinois is lucky we've lost to so many s***ty teams this year. That's the only thing keeping Illinois ahead of us on the bubble. (s***ty is an exaggeration, but the point stands)
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) Not a lock but they will be in with a loss if Duke or Ga Tech win the ACC tourney, UTEP wins Conf USA, Purdue beats Minny, and Utah St. wins their conference. Gooooooooooooooooo Gophers!
  16. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) So, what does this do for Minnesota's tourney chances? Puts us firmly on the bubble. We need to win tomorrow.
  17. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) MSU trying their hardest to give the game to Minny at the FT line. I think we've outplayed them without their help, but the missed free throws certainly are nice.
  19. Every f***ing time. EVERY f***ING TIME.
  20. For the love of god, can we please close out this game?
  21. Great start for the Gophers so far. Any time we can get positive production out of Iverson and Bostick, things are going well
  22. 52 fouls in that game. That's just absurd.
  23. Terrible foul by Northwestern. There's no excuse for fouling a guy as he's making an uncontested layup if you're going to let him finish.
  24. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) I know, but why? How is one worse than the other? Doesn't make sense. I think it has to do with when the foul was committed, but I could be wrong. Either way, I agree about it being stupid.
