  1. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 8, 2010 -> 09:41 AM) I picked up Nirvana "Live at Reading" dvd/cd. Really really good. Great recording both for the audio and video. Probably the band at their best. Better or worse than "From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah"?
  2. I would have preferred to play Purdue in the second round, but I'm glad we wouldn't have to play Ohio State until the finals. I mean, it's not like we're going to make it past Michigan State anyway, but if we do, I like the potential third round matchup.
  3. Gophers beat up on Iowa today, ultimately winning by nearly 40. Iowa is godawful, and it wasn't a good game to watch, despite the Gophers cleaning up. That's how bad Iowa is.
  4. I'm doing nothing for Spring Break other than catching up on some sleep and relaxing. And I can't wait
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 12:55 AM) So I am 33 years old and for the last few years the only new music I seem to like is "emo." Cartel, All-Time Low, We the Kings, Jimmy Eat World (have been a fan of them forever), and now a new local Vegas band called The Cab. What the hell is wrong with me? I'm so sorry for you
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) no catcher is worth 22 mil. Joe Mauer's value on the open market is much higher than 22 million per year. That's how good he is. The Twins would be smart to lock him up long term.
  7. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) You've all put me in a terrible bind here. I can't figure out how to tell everyone who posts in a thread called "Finding jeans that fit right" that they are totally teh ghey without posting in the very same thread myself. Damn youuuuu allll to helllll! totally. teh. ghey.
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) I don't think we'd be pursuing it if it's a fling. It's a strange enough situation since we're already living together, but we're both graduating in a few months and aren't exactly looking for one-night stands anymore While leaving the door open during sex sounds awesome, we'll probably just tell them during a movie or something. It's a bit awkward, but far worse things have happened before Well, we decided to watch Grosse Pointe Blank in the living room tonight and were going to tell them then, but no one was home. One of them came home in the middle of the movie and probably picked up on it, but he left again before we could formally tell him. The other still isn't home, but supposedly has a pretty good idea anyway (he's been dropping hints). So basically, although we haven't told either of our roommates, they both appear to know. We'll probably try to tell them again tomorrow, or maybe later tonight if they both get back sometime reasonable. EDIT: And we've told them. They both basically had the same reaction, which was something along the lines of "we saw this one coming from a mile away."
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) You'll find time. Wilt Chamberlain did. If I had Wilt's job, I don't think I'd have a problem getting laid. Working behind the scenes however, means a lot of hours and very little free time From everyone I've talked to, that's one of the biggest issues with working in the sports industry. You don't get a lot of time off during the seasons, but I guess it's worth it since you're doing something you love.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) Then weeknights....don't kid yourself... I'll be working weeknights too That's the price of working in sports.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:30 AM) Dont think for a minute that graduation signifies the end of one-night-stands. Once you get a well paying job and some money on the weekends, look out. Unfortunately, I'm going into a career which will have me working most weekends. So yeah...
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) although I hope it isnt a fling Felix, and you actually see something in this. If its just for fun, someone is going to move out sooner or later I don't think we'd be pursuing it if it's a fling. It's a strange enough situation since we're already living together, but we're both graduating in a few months and aren't exactly looking for one-night stands anymore While leaving the door open during sex sounds awesome, we'll probably just tell them during a movie or something. It's a bit awkward, but far worse things have happened before
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) Well explain how you all know eachother first. The girl and Guy A are from the same hometown and have lived with each other the past two years in two different houses. No romantic interest, but they've been friends for awhile. Guy B was a friend of Guy A in the dorms, and since we're at college, became the friend of the rest of us. I was friends with the girl before moving in, but wasn't particularly close. Interest sparked up last month on a roadtrip we all took, and continued and evolved into a serious relationship last weekend after some chats. Now we just don't know how to bring up the topic to the other guys
  14. This is certainly an odd question (and I definitely never expected to be asking it on an online forum), but anyone have suggestions for telling roommates that you're dating another of the roommates? I live with two guys and a girl, and the girl and I have decided to start dating. Of course, now neither of us know how to even start telling the other two guys. Any thoughts?
  15. QUOTE (The Bones @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Ouch. Yep, this season sucks.
  16. Ann Arbor is a whore. HUGE game in Michigan for the Gophers night. We really need to win out and at least have some hope for some luck to get into the field of 65.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) You know I cant think of any NFL players affected by it. Im sure there are, but I cant think of any Eli Manning had it this past year IIRC.
  18. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) Tell me who is that visible a star in the NFL? I've come up with Peyton Manning and really that is about it. Ochocinco does it himself. You should watch more commercials. We get pummeled with ads including Peyton, Eli, Brees, Peterson, Brady, Shockey, Tomlinson, etc. Oh, and Favre obviously. Not sure how I missed him with my initial list.

    i am drunk

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 07:22 AM) That is funny, because I was seriously considering quoting you and using "Goo alcodhol is quite delcious." in my sig. No wonder my beer fridge is completely empty..
  20. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) The NFL markets stars, but it's way more about teams. No league is even near as star driven as the NBA. Well yeah. I wasn't saying the NHL could market stars nearly as effectively as the NBA because that simply won't happen. But to say they can't market stars at all because they wear helmets is just silly, especially when the other major sport where players wear helmets has done a good job of making their stars very visible.
  21. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 1, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) I don't know if they can market the stars. They aren't on the ice enough to really market them plus they are wearing helmets and there is very little opportunity to get face shots of them. Tell that to the NFL.

    Films Thread

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 11:15 PM) But Requiem was a great film. It wasn't just about drugs, it was about addiction which led the characters to a dream world, which led them to desperation & then reality smacking them in the face. I hated Requiem. The film was done really well, but I don't get enjoyment out of movies that make me feel like complete s***. I didn't leave that movie thinking "wow, that was a really good movie and I should never do drugs again." I left it thinking "man, I feel like complete s*** and want to kill myself."

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 11:22 AM) Racism exists, and it's BAD! Replace racism with drugs and that's my exact feeling about Requiem for a Dream, which everyone also seems to love.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) A win will only add to the general cultural feeling of complete superiority for a lot of Americans. That's gotta count for something. That's the exact reason I'm rooting for the Canadians. I can't stand that mindset.
  25. QUOTE (ChiSox @ Feb 28, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) if you were born and raised in the usa and you're rooting for canada you're a piece of s***. bottom line. I love being a piece of s***.
