  1. Minnesota is back in the rankings, this time up to #19. Let's hope we stick around.. a win against MSU in East Lansing would be awesome, although highly unlikely.

Everclear is a beast. My throat still burns. Also: I'm tired and Happy Gilmore is on USA. scoreeeeeee.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) It was the perfect storm of really good defense and unbelievably bad offense. I know the feeling. I watched the Gophers play Purdue
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) When you beat a team 21 times in a row, the odds say a loss is imminent, especially when your opponent is pretty good and it's on the road. At the same time, this is one of the worst offensive games I've ever seen any college team play, let alone Illinois. It was 20 times in a row, not 21. That was an awesome game. Holding any team to only 36 points in a game is fantastic, regardless of what you say about Illinois' performance. Our offense wasn't great, but Sampson, Iverson, and Westbrook all had great games. The rebounding was amazing, especially the offensive boards. I just can't believe we finally beat Illinois
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 03:58 PM) I've got a bad feeling about the game tonight. You know Minnesota is due to beat us at some point. We should be alright as long as we keep Westbrook under control. Yes please. Westbrook isn't the guy you should be worried about though. Al Nolen is the real focus of our offense and without him we can't get anything done. Damian Johnson is also definitely something to watch out for, although his defense is far better than his offense (which can be good, but often isn't anything to write home about). Westbrook will get his points, but he's not really the guy people should be worried about if they want to stop our offense. I'm heading to the Barn in 15 minutes or so here, but I'll wish you guys luck before heading out. And please don't kill me when the game is over, one way or another
  6. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 09:07 PM) ISU sucks. Are you shocked? They lost to Indiana State..
  7. Someone wearing an ISU sweatshirt walked past me today. I almost asked him if he thought ISU had the best backcourt in history, but I managed to hold back.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 25, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) Pretty bad defense down the stretch by IU. Minn was penetrating and getting easy buckets. IU also couldn't rebound anything toward the end, and the Gophers actually outrebounded them, the first time the Hoosiers have been outrebounded by a Big 10 team this year.
  9. Gophers held on to beat Indiana 67-63 in Assembly Hall. We didn't deserve to win and our piss poor play continued, but at least we escaped with a W.
  10. 300 Napoleon Dynamite Donnie Darko A bunch of other movies that I'm too lazy to list off Milk College football The list goes on.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) Online sim baseball leagues. I'm in online sim baseball leagues as well, although I don't necessarily consider them childish guilty pleasures.

My throat still burns thanks to Everclear.
  13. Fantastic. The best part is that religion is renamed as "Superstitions".
  14. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) 17-3! Screw the haters, we'll just keep on winning games. Except when playing the powerhouse that is Indiana State.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) Big game coming up against Minnesota at the barn. I think if we get through that and Iowa we're sitting pretty with a couple of tough games left. You're playing us at the right time, as we're currently in a rather large identity crisis. That plus the fact that we haven't beaten you in 19 someodd years spells disaster for the Gophers.
  16. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 01:13 AM) As pretty much the only ISU fan ever in this forum, I pretty much have to be a huge homer to get any conversation going. Even though I really do believe ISU is better than UIUC. I am the only Minnesota fan ever in the forum, but you don't see me claiming that my team has a better backcourt than any other team in the country. You'd be surprised how much conversation comes about from being sane.
  17. Clearly a couple of UIUC games gives you the ability to claim that ISU is the best team since.. well.. ever.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 22, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) Yeah, Purdue's D deserves most of the credit. But you guys were pretty sloppy overall. It's going to be tough for the Badgers against really good defensive teams because they lack consistent scoring punch aside from Lawrence Westbrook. I hope you burn in hell Purdue played good defense, but we missed a lot of open shots as well. If we had made some of those wide open threes at any point of the game (one of Blake's shots on a fast break is the most obvious in my memory), it would have been a completely different game.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 22, 2009 -> 07:03 PM) Minnesota better get on their knees and thank whatever god they pray to they're only down 7 points. That was a brutal half of basketball. Absolutely disgusting game all around. Blake Hoffarber needs to get his head out of his ass and the team needs to remember how to shoot the goddamn basketball. 28% from the field and 16% from downtown is pathetic and unacceptable. The team was absolutely horrible and the fans were just as bad. A bunch of jackasses decided to chant "you're a pussy" when Keaton Grant got hurt, and were completely classless the entire game. I'm starting to hate all the bandwagon fans who don't know the chants (or anything for that matter, I heard someone asking "which one is Ralph Sampson III?" during warmups) and are only there because the team is ranked/the game was on ESPN2.
  20. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 22, 2009 -> 12:32 AM) The MVC is stacked this year. I don't care what the national pundits say. It is good from top to bottom. 16-3. Pretty solid record still. You're right. Bradley, Indiana State, and Wichita State are powerhouses that could dominate any of the other big conferences.
  21. Also: Illinois State loses again, this time to Wichita State (8-11). For a team that's so amazingly ridiculous and that owns the best back court in the NCAA, they sure do lose a lot to crappy teams.
  22. Thanks for that Northwestern, it makes our loss in Evanston look a lot better
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) That alone makes Minny one of the worst teams in the country Yep, Minnesota was pretty terrible this year.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) Wow, I didnt realize that the Big Ten had the #1 SOS and the #2 RPI of any conference. Thats kind of amazing to be honest. The Big Ten is a really good conference this year.
