  1. Holy s***. Please pull Vazquez. I honestly could have hit that meatball.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) I'm so tired of our SPs giving runs back after we get some. It's very annoying, and if I were Ozzie, I'd get Richard up a.s.a.p. Yeah, probably have to get someone ready. It's not like these are soft hits.
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) The Rays had the fifth most strikeouts in baseball. I think Javy k's 10 today. As I mentioned somewhere before, with playing on fast surface, Javy needs to strike guys out. Griffey and Dye and Wise are going to let a lot of balls through if a guy is pitching to contact.
  4. I'm curious to see if the catching matchup has an effect. AJ has the experience and knows how to call a game. I'm guessing Navarro won't be making the calls.
  5. I'm excited. I don't have the highest hopes for this series, but I hope it's fun and I'm interested in seeing if the experience wins out over youth.
  6. Cabrera can't move to a dome where the ball going to move faster. You're right about Crede, he wouldn't last on turf. Obviously they are making plans for 2010 rather than 2009 and probably want to bring in guys that are solid defenders on grass.
  7. QUOTE (SAVVY18 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 12:37 AM) Being the playoffs, all of the pitchers should be on a short leash. If Javy starts to s*** the bed, then he should be yanked right away and then you can put Elway Jr. (Richard) in there. I've been hearing the same thing on the radio, but that exemplifies the problem with Javy. He can go 4 or 5 inning looking lights out, then give up a walk...then a hit (get a guy warming)...then a home run. Suddenly it's train wreck. Waiting for the 1st sign of trouble is usually too late with him.
  8. Javy's start is huge. Playing in that dome, with the fast surface (it's the fake grass-like stuff right?), strike outs are going to be important because, Lord knows, our outfield isn't getting to anything in the gaps.
  9. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) Javy will have a chance to change everyones mind about him. The problem is that he doesn't care to change anyone's mind.
  10. Can't pitch these guys on 3 days rest forever. javy will have to pitch at some point. Hopefully he sees how these other guys pitched and steps up.
  11. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Javy in game one. f***. I just talked to my friend and he mentioned that. I told that's not possible, MB would go for sure. Javy sucks, but I guess he's the guy that's ready.
  12. QUOTE (hockisles @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) If i were the twins i would be pissed that the game is in chicago. A coin flip decides who gets the game??? That is just dumb. Should be who has the better record head to head...then goto the division record. Play 162 games and have 163rd game decided by who gets home field. that is just dumb. nice try
  13. I think Blackburn is on an extra day of rest. Hopefully he comes out too strong and is leaving everything up.
  14. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 11:55 AM) Wierd quote by Oz. Basically, if Blackburn makes adjustments and pitches differently than last time, we're screwed?? I'm pretty sure he's aware of that. Or if he pitches different, it plays into the Sox' hands.
  15. I just want everyone to know that last week I lost my Sox hat for a while. The last day I saw it was last Sunday against the Royals. I then couldn't find it all week. It turned up Sunday against Cleveland. Coincidence or sign from God? And yes, I'm wearing it.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) Wear black to the game to show your Sox support if you are going to the game!!! The team is asking everyone in attendance to wear black in honor of their Sox I'll avoid the obvious joke about funerals.
