More terrible defense.

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) Is that for real? What is Dusty going to do without his MVP? Think Hendry might be sick of Dusty?

QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) thank you. A pitcher who actually pitched over a play they percieved as should have been made (ozuna). That doesn't happen much this year. It only works for Vazquez before the sixth.

I refer to my sig...for once.

QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 02:04 PM) Interestingly, the Sox, Tigers and Twins have very similar strength of schedule remaining, the Yankees have the easiest schedule and the red sox have the hardest. The # of road games we have worries me, makes it even more important to finish off this home stand strong, the west coast road trip is also coming up. Interestingly, the Sox, Tigers and Twins have very similar strength of schedule remaining, the Yankees have the easiest schedule and the red sox have the hardest. The A's also have a much easier schedule than the Angels, assuming the Yankees and A's win their divisions I would almost rather win the WC and play the yankees than dealing with Oakland...I guess it is a pick your poison scenario, of course if our pitching comes into form we can beat anyone. It would be nice to get a cushion over Boston/Min for the WC.. I wouldn't want to go to Yankee stadium to open a 3 game series. While the Sox might match up well on paper against the Yanks, I'd rather they have home field advantage, especially in a short series.

Someone who doesn't get into fights with anyone who disagrees. For a while I was seeing this a lot.

QUOTE(rowand @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) Mark should be given 1 more chance to start. If he throws well, he can stay in the rotation. If not, why not put him in the bullpen? He has done it before and succeeded. He is much better suited for the bullpen than McCarthy, a career starter. Ozzie, shut the hell up. You continue to cut down Mc - "Hes not friggin Cy Young", and "He pitched bad for us last year, check the stats". CHECK YOUR F IN MOUTH OZ. He is the future. He has excelled when he gets to START. Throw JD into center field and see what happens. He won't be as well as he would be in right, where he has played. Buehrle is flexible and his arm is tired. Let him be an effective lefty out of the bullpen. We will need him in this stretch. I would do it now, but Ozzie may need another poor start to see it. Why not change it now when it looks like the team may be about to turn the corner? Come on Oz, let's be a manager instead of a player. I don't see why MB would be suited for the pen. He did it in 2000, but that's it and his stuff isn't that good that I want to see him in late innings. If it were Vazquez then it makes some sense because he was successful for a few innings and has stuff, but I don't see how MB can replace BMac in the pen. As for throwing JD in center ocassionally, I think that's interesting.

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) It might just be the picture, but she doesnt really look like "bombshell" material IMO. ^^^ Can't really see her well enough to judge.

There's an obvious flaw in this, what were those teams doing when the Sox played them? It probably evens out when you consider all teams have played good teams when they were not playing well, but it's still a flaw in the stat. Nevertheless, this stat proves what some people say, this team plays down to it's competition. (See Royals and D-Rays) If nothing else, I hope this is a good sign of things during this stretch.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) oh, cool. So we all basically have less then a month to live? Good to know. Didn't the end of the world just happen a month ago with that website?

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) But when the guys don't perform, the blame is put on Ozzie, so when they do perform, he might as well get props. That's fine, he can still be bashed for having Mack in center so that fills the quota.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) No love goes out to Ozzie, even though he did a fine job managing the bullpen late in that game (I believe at least). He did manage it right. But it helps when the guys perform.

Amazing what happens when the starters keep us in the game.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) Well that's a HUGE victory in the current state of our season so far. And the Red Sox lost as well. Every win these days is huge.

YES!! Hawk can't speak.

Little deeper next time, good thought though.

Two men on...base hit please.

Good job Bobby.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) Already threw 2 so he was shot for tomorrow anyway...why not. Good point, but he starts losing velocity.
-
If this team could stop being retarded on the mound, that would be great.
-
Extended outing by Jenks? Should be interesting.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) The base distance for us is 100 ft., and it's 80 ft. for them. I guess that's one explanation.
-
Stealing is no problem for them.
-
Yikes...at least he tried to steal.

YES!!!!
