Harrelson is just awful, one of the worst (if not THE worst) announcers in MLB. I'd take Stone and a pet rock over anything including Hawk at this point.
-
Recap posted. Engel looking much better.
-
Closing this thread. Please proceed to the Day 1 Draft thread, pinned in PHT. Primer link is in the OP, Tracker link will be there shortly too.
-
Our final draft profile: SS Gavin Lux, from Kenosha. Would probably be a good pickup at 26, but seems a stretch at 10.

Another profile, on a guy screaming up the boards: RHP Justin Dunn, Boston College

Here's a guy who is shooting up draft boards in a hurry, and is now in the conversation for the White Sox at 10th: RHP Justin Dunn, Boston College.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) We'll make a new thread tomorrow. More specifically, we will have a pinned thread in PHT for Draft Day 1, with the Draft Tracker link and other info in the OP.

Recap posted Cooper still leading all of MiLB in K's. Robbins' bat is on fire, but the man doesn't walk.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) Lawyer talk This. He may stay there until September, possibly. But probably he comes up earlier. He will at least get a September look, unless he's hurt.

Here's probably the most likely White Sox pick at 10, our profile on OF Blake Rutherford. Good stuff here.
-
Last one for the day, and possibly the most likely pick for the White Sox at 10: OF Blake Rutherford, Chaminade HS (CA). Lots of info on this profile.
-
Potential arm at 26: LHP Eric Lauer, Kent State.

Matt Cooper win CAR pitcher of the week

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) Prospect of any significant value? Can he be a 4 or 5 starter? I hope to see him pitch later this month, if the timing works. I saw him last May, and I was one of the people who helped him just make the FS T30 in January. That said, even I didn't see anything like this coming. Here's our profile on him, if that helps. Includes links to video, etc. -
Another 26th pick option, LHP Eric Lauer from Kent State. 0.69 ERA in a decent college conference? That works.

Engel in AA before demotion: .170/.314/.310, 28 K, 19 BB in 124 PA (26 G) Engel back in A+: .327/.413/.473, 11 K, 7 BB in 64 PA (14 G) Engel back to AA again: .300/.364/.500, 13 K, 5 BB, in 56 PA (12 G) So his walk rate is actually down a bit this time around (in 12 games), and the K rate is a little higher. But he's hitting the ball far better. Look at his first AA phase - see the huge walk total? He was hesitant. Like Jared Mitchell - not selective (which is good), but passive (which is bad). Now he's being more aggressive, but still not striking out TOO much, which is the right balance for him.

Another profile: OF Corey Ray
-
Here's a big one, who many Sox fans would love to see the team get: OF Corey Ray, Louisville (and Chicago native). Not likely he falls to 10, but it's possible.
-
Another profile: RHP Robert Tyler, Georgia power arm possible at 26.
-
Profile: RHP Cody Sedlock Also FYI, we now have a pinned Draft Week thread in PHT. Then on Thursday we'll pin the Day 1 thread in there with link to the Draft Tracker, as usual.
-
The MLB Draft begins Thursday evening. Between now and then, we will keep this thread pinned in PHT, containing links to draft profiles and other FS draft content, as well as any links people want to contribute and the discussion. Late Wednesday or early Thursday, we'll start a Draft Day 1 thread and pin that one. So far, FS has produced profiles on four Sox-linked draft prospects, with another 4 or 5 coming this week. Here are what we have so far... C Zack Collins RHP Dakota Hudson LHP Braxton Garrett And the newest one, fresh this morning... RHP Cody Sedlock We will also have profiles on Corey Ray, Blake Rutherford, Gavin Lux, Robert Tyler, and Justin Dunn. They'll be coming multiple-per-day now. We will of course have our Draft Tracker up during all three days of the draft. You won't find better coverage of the White Sox draft, anywhere.

Recap is up. Good to great starts throughout the system last night, which is a pleasant change.

One thing that does frighten me a bit is the Dan Remenowsky scenario. But what counters that fear is, Cooper is doing this as a starter (which Rem never did as a pro), and reports last year had Cooper's fastball low 90's and according to one report, touched 95 (though I am skeptical on that one). In any case, I think you need to challenge him in AA this year.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 10:41 PM) I wonder if we're talking about him enough. These numbers are staggering and they're not new this year. The only thing that's new is that he's doing it while starting. At 24 and with nothing but success in the minors, Cooper probably needs to move up to Birmingham this season. He really should be in AA, and at 24 he'd be more or less age appropriate at that level. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 11:22 PM) What's his profile? We've got a detailed prospect profile on Cooper, right here. Includes links to some video (which I took), and an interview (from southside hitman). We (FS) ranked him 29th on the Sox T30 in January when no one else even mentioned the guy.
