  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) So was that Uribe that dropped that easy popup today? I was in the kitchen. Ozzie should have pulled him IMMEDIATELY!
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) IMAGINE IT SOX FANS............RUNS WITHOUT HITTING THE BALL OUT OF THE PARK!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! best part of the game
  3. long way left to go. still only hittin homers. and we didn't improve ourselves for the stretch run.
  4. a winning streak is 3 straight wins "We won yesterday. If we win today, that's two in a row. If we win tomorrow, it's called a winning streak; it has happened before." -Manager Lou Brown, Major League btw our pitching got POUNDED again
  5. very nice win today. but once again. home run or nothing....
  6. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 02:20 AM) Harry you ever heard of a slump? The Sox are in one. The reason this is totally magnified is Det and Minnie are playing like world champions. They win almost every night out. We're in a major slump. We are not done. The pitching is a big big concern. I didn't even like the way McCarthy threw today. That soft spiff is a concern of all our pitchers. I still don't think we're done. Not with the fishing wild card. this is a collapse. not a slump. why do you think we will win the wildcard? someone gimmie some facts and not just "because" or "i hope so"
  7. QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:41 AM) Yes it will! Naysayer! i think you need to use your northsidebaseball.com account
  8. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) when they were winning nothing bothered us. WRONG! when they were winning some such as myself pointed out that there are major flaws on this team. of course we were shouted down with "LOOK AT THEIR RECORD" it was obvious from day one that our pitching sucked as a whole. now the team is paying for it. this is worse than last years collapse and guess what...there is no division clinching game to take the pressure off. let's see how this organization responds from top to bottom with adversity.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) HOW DARE THOSE FANS AID US IN HAVING A 100 MILLION DOLLAR PAYROLL! TRY TO READ. he's saying that it's the "bandwagon" fans that are the ones that are booing, and implying that "real" sox fans wouldn't boo
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Oh, it can get much, much worse. If we miss the playoffs, I'll chalk it up as one of the biggest all-time chokes ever. On paper, this team is sick. Kenny went out and significantly upgraded a roster just coming off a championship. Outside of Jose landing on the DL for 15 days (2 starts), this team hasn't had a single major injury. They haven't even had a minor one. So we can't even begin to play the injury card. A team with this level of talent should be performing at a MUCH, MUCH higher level than they are. i know what it is. TOO MUCH FAN SUPPORT BY SELLING OUT THE CELL
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) White Flag? Maybe if the WC didn't exist. we're going to be overtaken by toronto pretty soon. it's over. there is not one actual thing on this team you can point to saying we will play anywhere near our first half production. if we don't get that production, we will not make the playoffs. this team has gotten lazy and rested on their accomplishments, mostly the pitching. without jim thome, we are in cleveland indian territory right now.
  12. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) When we were slumping last year...did we think our pitchers would be capable of doing what they did in the ALCS is what i'm saying this is not a slump. it's a total and complete collapse. and never compare any year to last year. we had a double digit lead when we had our problems and STILL almost lost it. now we have no lead and there is NO SIGN that any turnaround is coming. gimmie white flag pt 3 and get some young HUNGRY all around players in here
  13. PITCHING=sucks HITTING=wasn't gonna keep up first half numbers DEFENSE=pablo and mack? HEART=NONE LEFT
  14. This team is DONE. accept it and move on. training camp starts tomorrow!!!
  15. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 07:46 AM) I am amazed at the fans in the park this year-obviously some band wagon fans booing and criticizing. this is one of the dumbest statements i've ever read
  16. QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) Fathom, negative will lead to NOTHING! Suck it up the bad times, and let's hope for the good times that will soon arrive. well we know what you're doing. you got your head in the sand and you're hoping and praying instead of DEMANDING that this team start playing better and DEMANDING that kw makes the appropriate moves. wish in one hand and crap in the other. see which one gets filled first.
  17. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:08 PM) Indeed. Coop will fix it.[/color] it's not broke...look at their wins
  18. QUOTE(Beastly @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) I just wanted to ask you all, how were we last year around this time? Starting to suck? I think so. Sox are still in it in my book, and I'm happy we're taking out the trash of this organization. =) well we sure as hell weren't 7.5 games out of first at this point last year. it's sad as more and more of you turn into cub fans...
  19. Count throws one bad pitch that goes out of the park...too bad it was after he walked the bases loaded
  20. QUOTE(chisox08 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) any thoughts and/or scenarios for tomorrows game? LOSS 8.5 back of the tigers 1.5 ahead of the twins
  21. There is not enough pitching on the market for kenny to get that will actually help this team. he's just got to ride it out. 7.5 back? it's time to concentrate on the wild card. the tigers are running away and hiding. we've got a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG summer ahead of us. this team is not in a "funk" there are serious problems that might not get fixed. pitching being the number one. pitching = world series no pitching = possible playoffs/early exit QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) i thought he handled vazquez fine tonight, i thought javy only made two really bad pitches tonight...the change to morneau was left up, and he absolutely hung a slider to mauer and got lucky that mauer swung and missed....again, ive said it like 10 times....i still have 0 idea why anyone pitches to mauer in teh situation they did so you're implying the twins got lucky tonight on 2 bad pitches????????
  22. i just have one question... When do we re-reaquire crazy carl??
  23. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) this isn't a thread about bashing the sox (because I do think they'll improve) so don't think I've gone crazy after reading this it's just that I've tried so hard to stay positive for the past couple weeks, but after going to the game yesterday and seeing them get shelled, then watching another mess of a game tonight, all my frustration must have boiled over I'm generally a pretty calm guy, but after our loss today I completely lost it since I was at a friends house (who were nice enough to understand why I was so pissed) I had to keep it light, but they found a bat for me to take, and I just started bashing anything I could find in his yard out of frustration I know most of you probably will think that is a ridiculous thing to do, but I've just about had it with poor execution and bad fundamental play, and it all boiled over in tonight's game It's time to get it together. ah, the inner sox fan is coming to the surface. let it out. let it out. don't accept this piss poor play. don't assume it will get better "just because"
  24. this team is in a HUGE tailspin. if you don't admit that, then you are beyond help. Sad part is that this team has a crazy good record up till this point. it's possible that they won't play any better the rest of the season.
