QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 11:52 AM) Makes no sense. Better FAs next year. Would likely be the biggest contract given out in Sox history. I don't know enough about him statistically but maybe they're looking at him longer term sliding into a DH role. That also doesn't even touch the questionable credibility of this "source"... Again, judging by the Sox trying to trade for Machado, they don't see themselves as big time players on the next free agent market.

Ugh. Looks like I was on to something with the Sox trying to speed up this rebuild.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 09:34 AM) Very true. His power has always been his #1 calling card, followed by his arm. Then to hear his arm compared to Vlad Guerrero. You can't teach that. That is a game altering skill. See here. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=3575167

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 09:21 AM) yeah...and he stressed the fact of how young he still is. Alluded that he'd be only a jr in college right now...but he already has X amount of years in pro ball already. I don't think even a lot of Sox fans (obviously everyone on here knows)...but the common Sox fan on the street know anything about this kid or his potential. And he's a BIG kid really...6-3'"....210ish. Very true. His power has always been his #1 calling card, followed by his arm. Then to hear his arm compared to Vlad Guerrero. You can't teach that. That is a game altering skill.

Nice win tonight. Glass has been a great story in a pretty dismal season.

If nothing else I like seeing that these guys are this dedicated to their craft. Who knows what will pay off or not, but the fact they are willing to put in this kind of work in the off season is promising. H

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jan 3, 2018 -> 02:58 PM) Skoug over Call is dumb, but solid list otherwise. I wasn't under the impression that was an ordered list, just guys they talked about.

I can't see the White Sox hoarding 1B prospects to go out and blow $150 million on Hosmer.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 3, 2018 -> 01:17 PM) "resigned to and accepting of losing" by the end of the campaign seems more accurate than "didn't want to win." An excerpt: which matches up with this somewhat famous snapshot from election night as the results came in: lmao. The headline of the article is quite literally Donald Trump Didn't Want to Be President

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2018 -> 12:35 PM) http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/...nald-trump.html Trump didn't want to win, says NYT. Long read. Didn't get it all. Not sure what to make of it. This doesn't jive at all with the collusion stuff. If he didn't want to win, and didn't care if he did, why Russia?

I love hearing Micker's name pop up in different spots. If that dude continues his breakout that makes us a lot deeper in the OF.

Really can't wait to see Seby at the higher levels. He has the potential to rocket up some lists if he hits and defends like he did last year.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2018 -> 08:57 AM) Royals offered Hosmer 7 years and 147 mil. BAHAHAHAHAHA Please sign! Yeah, if Hosmer is worth this, Jose Abreu has some pretty huge value.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 2, 2018 -> 04:53 PM) Dunn also makes a lot of really untimely mistakes. He'll get you a steal and a circus basket to get you back into the lead, and then the next trip he'll make a boneheaded turnover. Happened last night against Portland. He had an excellent final 3-4 minutes and then the last possession he forced a weak, fall away shot in the lane that was nearly an airball. edit: Ha, just read this on my twitter feed: Still, wasn't a good decision/shot. He had Lopez clear on the roll. Basketball IQ can be taught. Talent cannot.

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jan 2, 2018 -> 02:56 PM) Will they really vote for someone who bashes the Republican hero, Trump? I saw another twitter post that in Utah Mitt has a 69% approval rate, while Trump is at 45%.
