  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 6, 2016 -> 08:55 AM) I dont really think they have jerked him around too much. The guy has been up multiple times, and has had stinkers like this pretty much every time. You can see it in his body language when things start going wrong too, he starts to nibble and is forced to bring his bp fastball to the zone when the count is in the batters favor. I know he has bounced up and down a few times, and apparently felt that he should have stayed with the big league club out of spring training, but I think he really has gotten opportunities to show he can take this job and has peed down his leg every time. The only time i can recall a solid start from the guy was (i believe) a september start where there was zero pressure on him to perform I think I remember a certain poster saying at one time, if he can't handle stuff like this, he isn't going to make it as a major league pitcher.
  2. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 5, 2016 -> 10:57 PM) And the answer is Trayce Thompson, Avisail Garcia, Marcus Semien. What is name 3 players out-hitting the "elite" Todd Frazier, Alex. But please trade 4 more young players for another proven veteran, Kenny Hahn. Even though it is a proven counterproductive strategy, it gives fans temporary succor and allows them to "dream again" First place sucks.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2016 -> 06:49 AM) Johnson had best stay down! They have a pill for that.
  4. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:37 PM) His foot was in the line before he even had the ball look how lawrie had to slide to get around him It was over the base, but never touched it until much later.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) I'm going with the sox are always screwed in these situations and this is no different Winner.
  6. Apparently Ventura challenged it as a blocked plate.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) Are catchers allowed to block plate again? Actually this is very true. His leg is in the path before he gets teh ball.
  8. Actually I don't think Lawrie got his foot down.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) Fans are great tonight Was thinking the same thing during the Sanchez AB. Lot of cheering and people on their feet.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) since when did we become the home of overweight hispanic catchers in their 30s? Check with Trump on that one.
  11. That was actually hit too hard by Avi. Melky didn't have a chance to score.
  12. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) Yup, this was my fear. I'm not sure the Sox have anything better than Danks in their system... of course the only way they were going to find out for sure is if they jettisoned Danks and gave other guys a chance. I dont have too much faith in Turner. I think they knew, which is why it lasted this long.
  13. We keep getting chance, eventually they are going to get the big hit.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) The weird part is he's a pretty huge guy and has shown flashes of 93-94 MPH stuff in the past, even touching 95. Then he goes through these stretches in the majors and minors where he's at 88-91, topping out at 92. Hard to say how much of it's mechanical and how much psychological and how the two are interrelated. That is probably more of a difference with different guns.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2016 -> 09:06 PM) Much better command As flat as his fastball was, I wonder if nerves played a roll. The last two innings his stuff looked much better.
  16. That was the first 1-2-3 inning in the entire game.
  17. I have no idea why Jackson didn't stay on 2nd base and try to get someone to look at that.
  18. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 3s3 seconds ago Chicago, IL Per Statcast, 113 mph on that Garcia homer
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) I don't think that's gone at Fenway That is a single at Fenway.
  20. That got out of here QUICK.
  21. A SCORELESS INNING! Ok offense, time to go now.
  22. That bad first strike call set up both Abreu's and Lawries ABs to expand their zones
  23. That high outside strike he loves calling to RH hitters.
