  1. Based on his numbers last year he should have been in line for a multi year deal at $10 million per season, or more. He got neither. No one wanted him. And even if he had defied the odds of pitchers skipping spring training and being decent, that probably doesn't change. It's hard not to point at the obvious reason why, but Mike Clevinger is not a wanted commodity around MLB.
  2. The short term couldn't matter less. I am glad that Captain Panic has seemingly accepted the fate of this dumpster fire. Now move out the chaff and let the kids get run.
  3. I think we see a ton of pitchers moved, and not a lot of position players. For pitchers I went with Crochet, Fedde, Flexen, Kopech, Brebbia, Wilson, Banks and Soroka. Hitters, just the top 3 listed in Robert, Pham, and DeJong.
  4. When you own an 80 tool, you will get attention. The team that teaches him to hit an empty .250 gets a weapon a long term rostered MLB player.
  5. I have said it in a couple of other places, but once Yoan is back, move him off of 3B. The kid is a 2B for sure. If he can hit at the .700 OPS end of where he has been, he's a 10 year major leaguer. Even with the slow start he is up to an 88 RC+ which is 20th (with Marcus Semien) among MLB 2Bs with 200 or more PAs, and has a 92 OPS+ on the season. If you plot back to his last call up, he has actually put up a .295/.333/.467/.800 line since May 31 (so about 5 weeks now). That .800 OPS would rank 5th among 2Bs on the season with 200 or more PAs.
  6. Sosa would be a way better 2B than 3rd.
  7. Come to Soxtalk for the worst team in baseball, stay for the 2nd rate grammer lessons
  8. JR: Whoa there Tiger.
  9. So when does he get called up, go 1-20 getting spotty starts to Nicky Lopez, and get sent down after a couple of weeks?
  10. It's almost like he just needed to play. I don't see him at SS or 3B, but he could slot in at the 2B.
  11. For me, it is more about not rushing Colson Montgomery who is still adjusting to AAA.
  12. I don't know if this was just long enough ago that people forgot ot weren't around, but Frank Thomas 100% caught strays from both fans and teammates. He was booed by fans. His toughness was questioned by teammates and managers. Bo Jackson called him a selfish prick and a douchebag. Sox fans have a history of booing players that look like Frank. That goes back decades. Call it racism, or deserved somehow, but it is true.
  13. So he's about 30 years ahead of the average household.
  14. Dude is like 60 now, so Getz is probably interested.
  15. That would be killer.
  16. He's made in 3 years what a lot of people make in a life time.
  17. Again, I have literally said exactly this stuff in many other posts. Honestly, I don't care about dazzling you or whatever it is you need to make you feel better here. Just actually read what I say. I am not sure why you are making this so difficult.
  18. Pitchers today go 100% for a shorter period of time as opposed to the old days when they went 80-90% for long. Pitchers today throw harder and with more movement than they ever had before. Pitchers of today have a way more intense workload. It's way more than just pitch count or innings.
