  1. Of course this move by itself isn't a big deal, but it is symptomatic of what leadership has done for almost a year now. It's all of these individual moves add up to that is the problem. Each piece pushes the other pieces back a step.
  2. Chris Getz: "Can you be a little more specific?"
  3. This is 100% to do with how awful that Kopech has been within clutch roles.
  4. Even his expected ERA is a full run over his current ERA.
  5. These are the kinds of moves that make me question what Getz is doing here. Are we really believing that a guy like Wilson is the one to send down over Anderson and Kuhl? Wasn't the whole reason to get a 29 year old reliever in the Cease deal so that we could showcase and trade him, and now we are sending him down at the prime showcase time yet keeping Justin Anderson and Chad Kuhl? Like does anyone believe we can get something for them? I sure don't.
  6. So they are drafting a 1B in the top 5 they are going to stick into the OF at full slot value. Did we actually fire the previous administration?
  7. Is it worth $50 million?
  8. He's had a weird season. Most of the year he has been WAY better than his FIP, like two runs. In the last month, he has been 2.25 runs WORSE than his FIP. Not sure I get it if you are trying to move him by the deadline, but why start making sense now.
  9. And if you turn Wolkow into Ron Kittle, that is a win.
  10. Yes, it shouldn't take that long, 100%. But when the Sox are going to close doors to progress (such as high end free agency, and not spending effeciently in the Latin market, playing marginal veterans instead of the kids, etc) as well as seeing rumors like continuing the KW/RH drafting style by taking a maxed out 1B at full slot in the top 5 of their first draft, and pushing Benitendi out the door at the cost of top prospects to save Jerry money, I feel very justified in feeling like this won't be on the fast end of things. Plus I don't think the major league teams sees much of a rebound in 2025.
  11. The only guys we are talking about discounts based on major league sample size for performance is Sox guys (and it is also only with the stats that apply, but not the ones that don't). But somehow no one talks about that for a guy like Holliday. Weird right. It's almost like there is more at work here.
  12. I would feel differently about Fedde if it wasn't real changes he made to achieve his new stuff. This wasn't something like he just went over seas and put up big numbers. He had actual arsenal changes, which did big things in Korea, and he has come over here and confirmed that these changes worked. I wasn't ready to fully buy in until I saw it work here, but now that it has, it definitely changes things more than if it hadn't happened somewhere else first. This isn't like showing up for spring training "in the best shape of his life". This was much more meaningful.
  13. Lemme stop ya right there.
  14. Robert is under control for 3.5 years. If someone doesn't meet his price, you have this off-season, plus next trade deadline, plus next off season before you really start to get into a depreciation situation. I get the Crochet situation is unique with only 2.5 years left, and an innings limit for this season, but Robert is really a no need to rush situation. All it does it push back getting more players into the system.
  15. If GMs get the impression that Chris Getz will panic and drop his prices and all they have to do is wait, he is not doing his job. If it means holding on to someone for a while, so be it. Rick Hahn played this to perfection with Jose Quintana.
  16. While Bowden is more on team sell. https://www.audacy.com/670thescore/sports/chicago-white-sox/jim-bowden-explains-why-white-sox-should-seek-to-trade-luis-robert-jr
  17. If teams are scared, hopefully Captain Panic doesn't lose patience again.
