Dodgers interested in Robert, Crochet, Pham
Thinking through that, let's call it $5/$15 in the next two seasons, so we are talking like 6/150ish by the time buyouts are established. That is at least realistic.

We know Jerry isn't going deep. But I am curious how far people are willing to go, because it is one thing to say it, but it is another to put together something that matches said unicorn status.

Out of curiosity, how much are you willing to pay to extend him?

Wheeler even had put up big innings numbers early in his career. He put in 149 innings between AA and AAA. He put up 168 in his last MiLB year and first MLB year combined. He put up 185 innings in his 2nd season at MLB. Garrett Crochet put up 180 innings total between 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Wheeler might have had some injuries later on, but he put up a ton of base work before them.

Moncada and Clevinger "returned from rehab assignments"
That's what my guess would be. They aren't healthy enough to either stay on the roster or continue to play.

Moncada and Clevinger "returned from rehab assignments"
This sounds like they are both hurt again, but I am not quite sure by that wording if this means they are being recalled, or just not rehabbing anymore. If they were being recalled, I don't know why you would "further evaluate" them.

As bad as Outman has been, I am only interested if the Dodgers trade for Robert, and need to move him out for a roster spot as a back of the deal type of addition, and not as a significant piece.

The good news for the Sox is there is maybe one other superstar level pitcher on the market right now, and even Skubal is questionable with the Tigers status. If no one offers a Sale like package by the 30th, I am very probably taking the highest offer out there and running with it.

Don't get me wrong, it has been fascinating to see this unfold in real time, but just because The Sox have rolled like 5 sevens in a row with Crochet's health, doesn't mean the next roll will also be a seven.

This feels more like I ran out on the interstate that one time and didn't get hit by a truck and die, ergo, the interstate is safe to run out on to.

That's not how this works. The best indicator for future injury is past injury.

Dodgers related, this is interesting.

Cardinals Have Strong Interest in Fedde
There are guys who you can wait on, Fedde should be gone to the highest bidder.

Dodgers interested in Robert, Crochet, Pham
And look, if there was some body of work that actually supported the idea that guys who have year after year of injury problems just suddenly get healthy and explode their workloads without ever looking back again, then I would be more open to it. But Garrett Crochet would be a literal first here.

His injuries were not just his elbow to where you can blame his entire history on that one thing.

NIL impact on draft going forward/changes
So if he wasn't good enough for pro ball after the one year, how is it that he would have been fine in pro ball the previous year?

Dodgers interested in Robert, Crochet, Pham
His 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons had nothing to do with that.

Dodgers interested in Robert, Crochet, Pham
He has pitched more innings in this one season than he had in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 combined, even including his college innings. The fact that anyone would see it weird to question a guys health history in this circumstance is bizarre. He is the definition of an injury history.

Crochet Trade Updates (Nightengale)
And pretty much every single hitter in the Yankees top 10 too. They have been awful this year. Arias was thought of the next superstar, and has been awful. Pereiera has been really bad with the Yankees. Lombard has been awful in A ball. The only guy who has had a good season is Dominguez and I would be shocked if they let him go.

He's portrayed that way because he has had injuries literally every year of his professional career until now, plus going back to his college career he had injuries then as well.

Even his employers don't feel he is conditioned for a full season as a starter.

He is not conditioned to pitch a full MLB season.

Conditioning and a long injury history are major concerns for Crochet.
