  1. Meh, if Leasure is healthy, let him figure it out. Even if Pedro has to use him as an early set up guy, let him go and try and work out of it.
  2. They will also lose a good chunk of expected payroll in the next month. While those numbers are full year projections, once some established player movements happen, that number will drop, but it will fully depend on who goes. Robert is at $12.5 million. If he goes at the deadline, that is between 4-5 million off by itself. Fedde would save $2-3 million. Brebbia and Soroka would be good for a million plus each. Decent chance we finish this season below Minny, who may well add payroll at the deadline.
  3. This organization employed Hawk for decades. They don't care.
  4. Last Big Board from The Athletic https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5622935/2024/07/09/mlb-draft-2024-top-100-prospects-final/?campaign=5888993&source=dailyemail&userId=6062851
  5. This dude is definitely catching a lot of strays because he is the public face and everyone else is in hiding.
  6. If you believe the stories, this is a guy who ran off both Hawk and Jason. He obviously doesn't give a crap as to what the fan base thinks.
  7. Something has to be wrong with them/us
  8. Do you think the Sox have room for that much early pitching?
  9. Today is July 8th. As of today, the White Sox have not won a game played on a Monday this entire season. (0-11)
  10. Lenyn Sosas OPS is 65 points higher than Jake Burgers.
  11. Especially if we are talking about 3-4 innings, which we are most nights. Right now Brebbia is about the only non-long guy who isn't a dumpster fire.
  12. At any one time this year there are 1 to 2 guys in this pen who aren't a dumpster fire. He can either try to use them as the bridge or closer, not hasn't seemed like ever enough for both. Far be it from to to defend Pedro, but this pen is the personification of this season for the sox.
  13. The original Jose Abreu deal was excellent.
  14. I don't think people wanted him as a headliner in a big deal. For a secondary piece, or a smaller level player, sure.
  15. Props on the thread title.
  16. Not to mention their 40 man is going to have a crunch this winter. They either trade now, or lose in the Rule 5.
  17. Too early I am sure. EDIT: Just saw the other.
  18. You literally take the best offer and move on. I don't care if the best offer is a shot at the bar.
  19. Of course this move by itself isn't a big deal, but it is symptomatic of what leadership has done for almost a year now. It's all of these individual moves add up to that is the problem. Each piece pushes the other pieces back a step.
  20. Chris Getz: "Can you be a little more specific?"
  21. This is 100% to do with how awful that Kopech has been within clutch roles.
