  1. Nah, pintpoint control is always a thing. You can throw as hard as you want if hitters know where it is going to be. A guy like this has to make sure where it is going to be. Thorpe didn't mess around in the zone last time around, this time he did. It's not like his velocity changed from start 1 to start 2, but his location did.
  2. That's the point. He can't mess around in the zone. Plenty of other pitchers have done with without throwing 98. You can be successful without throwing hard.
  3. He has to be pinpoint. It isn't about velocity, it about control.
  4. Why dude is getting a MLB paycheck that he never would have gotten with another team.
  5. You know what else is a bad environment to develop pitchers? MLB.
  6. Did Pedro steal your account? Destroy a poster if you need help.
  7. His location wasn't good. Not as much on the edges.
  8. Capitan Panic strikes again. BuT wHaT iF We LoSe ChuCkIe????
  9. The Sox need to make up 50 games to compete. 50. You could spend a billion dollars in free agency this winter and still not turn this dumpster fire into a .500 team. And there is zero chance Jerry is willing to spend like that. You keep feeding the line about spending money, but look at this free agent market and outline to me a realistic way to make up 50 games with this free agent class.
  10. He has 1.5 years of control, if someone is willing to give you a solid deal for him, drive him to Ohare.
  11. But he is willing to lose another prospect to do it. Brilliant.
  12. Definitely, and with his arm it will be a better fit. He may also play SS once DeJong is gone.
  13. No, I challenged your falsehood that we were only signing those early announced kids and no kids out of the DR because you were prematurely melting down about. There is a difference.
  14. It's almost like kids need regular playing time to figure it out.
  15. Not good for a guy with his skill set.
  16. The Sox, as they stand today, are the least talented organization from top to bottom in MLB. Full stop. All of these fantasies of some how accumulating enough talent into the system in the next 2 to 3 years to make Crochet and Robert matter, knowing full well we won't spend in Latin America, the high end free agent market, and the inability to get a top 10 pick next year is just absurd. You have to get talent from somewhere and with all of the doors the Sox artificially close, the trade market is about it. The Sox need to make up 50 games in 2 years, otherwise we lose Crochet for nothing without a playoff chance. That's just insane.
