The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 10:11 PM) You've brought this up like 20 times, at every opportunity, the fact is nothing's happened to Lieberman even though he's not really a Democrat and he's only in the caucus because of the mutual benefit/convenience but has actually been pretty worthless. Then they probably should quit b****ing about it, or quit acting like inclusiveness actually is true.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) Lol. Yup room for everyone under the Democratic umbrella... QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) Yeah the guy totally deserves preferential treatment after going to the RNC convention and talking trash about the Democratic nominee while talking up the GOP candidate and the grossly incompetent VP pick. * Unless you think differently than what is accepted Democratic dogma. In other words, just like the Republicans, except for the PR stuff where we lie about accepting people who think differently.

White Sox show interest in Aroldis Chapman...
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) The second half of 05 was when he came out from all sides and started showing sidearm a lot more. It wasnt a dominant part of his repertoire until 06, and it worked pretty well until he hurt himself in 06(July?), and then he was never "right" again. To me it was a great way for him to offset his over-the-top pitches, but he fell in love with it and went to it too often, and that was something that people said was his problem in New York(falling in love with his breaking pitches and not using his FB enough). He started dropping down when his fastball lost 5 mph to get movement to compensate for the lack of velocity.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 06:20 PM) maybe the President needs to remind Mr. Lieberman that he kept him from being kicked out of the Democratic caucus and losing his Chairmanship. Maybe that decision needs to be re-visited for Traitor Joe. Lol. Yup room for everyone under the Democratic umbrella...

Getz vs. Nix
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 07:59 PM) I don't think it matters if Nix can play other positions. As long as he can handle the one we ask him to play, i don't think anyone can complain. Getz is the viable backup here anyway. My argument is to play Getz across the field, and keep Nix at second. It's both the optimal offensive and defensive alignment. Ideally, we can find a left-handed presence for the corner Of and/or DH spots. Getz doesn't have the arm to play anywhere but second base. He would be a terrible utility infielder.

Getz vs. Nix
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 12:59 PM) Yep, and only five more months to settle it. I can't wait until the complaining about who we don't sign starts taking place, because at least this wretched debate will be on the backpage for a while.

White Sox show interest in Aroldis Chapman...
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) of course i dont know for a fact, nobody does, heck he probably doesnt even know. im not making absurd unfounded claims either. i do know what age the organization believes he is and its not 21 and i will leave it at that. is it so absurd to think his age is not 21? i think its more absurd to think that he is 21. So who in the organization believes he is what age, exactly?

White Sox show interest in Aroldis Chapman...
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 11:35 AM) yes, yes and i have seen how these over hyped prospects, especially pitchers, have turned out and they arent worth the ridiculous financial risk. do you think the red sox wish they paid dice k still? How about that record setting Jose Contreras contract? I think the White Sox aren't complaining about it.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) Balta said the Republicans had the ability to get what they wanted to do now done and didn't even try, which is a true statement. It's not really blaming so much as it's a simple statement of fact, so how is it invalid in response to what NSS said (which I actually agree with for the record)? They spent the last few months blaming Republicans, who don't hold the White House, nor a single house of Congress, for holding up progress.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 10:54 AM) The Republicans had 8 years to craft a health insurer friendly, market based solution to health care, and all they did was pretend there wasn't a problem. It's our turn to try to fix it. They blame the Republicans when the are out of power, and they still blame them while they are in complete power.
