  1. Why didn't the Sox sign more relievers this winter?
  2. Gausman is not coming to a stop in the stretch with runners on. It's a balk every time.
  3. I love that there is someone mocking Yoan Moncada's health, in favor of Jake Burgers. You just can't make this stuff up.
  4. Let me put it this way. If Burger has two step range at 3rd on hard hit balls, while Yoan Moncada has three, it just means that more balls are going to get past Burger into RF for either singles or doubles. If he doesn't get to them, they aren't giving him an error on them. It is the same as RF where if Adam Engel has 15 step range, and Andrew Vaughn has 10, it just means more balls are getting down for hits in the OF with Vaughn. It doesn't mean that either is going to get more errors. Besides the reason Burger has been making errors lately isn't because of his range or lack there of, its because his hands are awful. His transition from fielding to throwing is really bad.
  5. You are going to have more options for balls off of your glove with range, versus without.
  6. You argued that lack of range creates errors at 3rd, but not in RF. That is patently false.
  7. It's the same in that you don't get errors for each. You said a ball out of range in the OF is just a hit. It's the same thing in the IF. You don't get errors at 3rd for a ball that is out of your range.
  8. That's not really accurate. Not getting to a ball at 3B is the same as not getting to ball in RF. It affects your range factor, but you probably aren't getting an error unless it goes completely under your glove or something. But in both cases why you would get an error would be similar. Booting a ball in the IF and booting a ball in the OF are also similar in that those are what you get an error for. The one advantage the 3B gets is sometimes errors hide in things like botched double plays where you can get one out, but not the two you should have got, as we have seen many times this year. The other thing of note is that what Burger and Vaughn are doing defensively isn't really relevant to each other, because they aren't in competition with each other for a defensive position.
  9. I want to go on record as saying I fully support Andrew Vaughn hitting .500 for the rest of this season.
  10. Definitely bold, but yes, I would imagine that Andrew Vaughn will not continue to hit .500 this season.
  11. TBH, my guess is Tony told them to throttle it down to avoid injuries. It makes more sense to me than he is just willfully ignoring that players are being lazy.
  12. Bold of you to assume that Tony did anything about it, because it has happened before this year, even specifically with Robert (and others) and I have yet to see a visible consequence.
  13. Burger has also made 3 errors at 3rd in his last 5 games there, and 4 in his 9 played at 3rd. If he plays at all, it needs to be DH.
  14. Chris Sale had at least hit some OK innings numbers in college. Crochet hasn't even done that much. He needs to be built up over a period of years to be able to used as a starter reliably. That is also assuming his arm doesn't fall off in the process.
  15. If Crochet is willing to spend a couple of full seasons in the minors (say 23 and 24) its doable. Other than that, it just doesn't work mathematically.
  16. I think we can narrow it down to first one wins
  17. 1st day of summer update: Josh 1 Nick 0
  18. Thanks for the definition, but in this case it is 100% not about anything on the surface level. This isn't about anything you just posted, but an intentional act.
