Suicide IS important in the Muslim religion. It would have made him a martyr and a hero. It isn't like western culture that will be judging him. He should have shot it out or strapped on a bomb to kill as many of the infidels as possible. Western religion doesn't preach this, Saddams religion does. There is no reward for "cowards", and he will lose a ton of respect of his own people after this.

Without being a free agent Mark Buehrle has zero leverage. Colon could (and did) sign with another team, Mark is stuck here until 2006. At worst he can make us go to arbitration for 3 straight years. Either way we could technically NEVER negotiate with him, and just submit a figure to the arbitor each year, and never have to worry about it. And there is not a damn thing Mark could do about it.

If MB asked for a record contract based on his numbers, Mark Buehrle would be the only one losing credibility. At that point JR could justifiably tell Mark to stick it, and most fans WOULD understand. The is a BIG difference between asking for what is fair (which IMO is what MB got) and a record contract.

Tough love? Why would MB demand a record contract for someone at that stage of his career? That makes no sense to want the team to wrap up twice as much money in one player
