John, at the time doing heavy political songs, was angry about the trite lyrics of Paul's songs. Paul's musical response to How Do You Sleep was Silly Love Songs. You'd think that people Would have had enough Of silly love songs I look around me and I see it isn't so Some people wanna fill the world With silly love songs And what's wrong with that? I'd like to know 'cause here I go again I love you, I love you And for those kind of reason's I think are why I always liked Paul better. I always loved the fact that Paul given everything in the world, still aims to make others and himself happy. I respect John's song writiting and passion more than any of the Beatles, but McCartney just seems to realize the gift he has and wants to share it and make people as happy as he is.

The so-called immorality of the song was to be found in Norwegian Wood not being a statement about interior decorating but meaning "knowing we would." John always denied that in every interview I read. That was in the days when people were burning Beatles albums because they were so immoral. Paul McCartney actually told that story the night he was the only guest on Jay Leno (along with his new wife).

I know that the song was a coded story about an affair that John had, but I have no idea what they interpreted it as, and I am really curious.

Wonderful yet sad article on Barry
And that article is the reason I admire Bonds so much. He is who he is. He isn't some BS made to sell Pepsi or Nikes or some crap. He is himself and is perfectly happy doing it.

who was Dear Prudence written for? Julia? Which Beatle did the first solo album (and I still have it)? Who introduced them to marijuana? Without thinking, who was Stu Sutcliff? What was them original name of the haircut? And the immortal line "how can you sleep" was written by whom for whom because of what, and what was the musical response? In the middle of the night I.... what? Let's see how well they taught you! Paul did the first solo album, Ram. how can you sleep was a bitter, bitter song by John to Paul, after the break up. The haircut was the mop top, I think

Pitching matchups
I thought the same thing. Not facing Santana or Milton is a f***ing HUGE break. Not to mention we just missed Pedro and Lowe in the BOston series. Maybe fate? Not fate, it was the fact that Boston is looking to match up with other teams in their division.

Pitching matchups
SOOO glad we dont have to see Santana either. Amen to that. He is one bad ass pitcher. There is absolutely no tell between his fastball and his change.

Damned off days
If it wasn't for skipping our 5th starter, off days would serve no useful purpose I am so ready to get this stretch run going!

Interesting stuff. I had heard most of that before, but not all of it. BTW Aboz in your class was it more about the music, did it talk more about cultural impact, or what was the focus? We had 4 tests, which half were based on a text book and info that we talked about in class and the other half was a listening portion where you had to identify the song title, album it was on and who sang the lead of the song. We talked mostly about the music, some about the culture impact of the band as well. Our prof. was a big time Beatles nut, as he's been teaching that course since 1982 and knows a boatload about them. It was definitely an interesting experience that I won't forget. Well I bet the last part of the tests was the easiest. I have found myself doing most of that just by habit. BTW did you see McCartney when he toured? Nope, prices were too high. I'm also not as big into Paul as I am into George and John. They're all great, but he's my 3rd favorite of the 4 and I wasn't willing to pay that much to see him. Did get that DVD of the concert though, it's pretty good. Did you see him? Yeah Paul is my personal fav, so I ponied up and went. It was an incredible show. It just blew my mind that a 60 year old could do a 2 1/2 hour show with that much energy, and not take a break. It was the best show I have ever seen.

I think it should help more this time of year. Early in the year you hate to skip because guys are still rusty. Right now the rest is huge.

4 Man Rotation
That is exactly what I said too. As a matter of a fact I have no doubts I would rather have him than Schow. I said it then, and I will say it again now.

IM hoping the White Sox play the Yankmees
The only team I really think we have no chance of beating is Seattle. As long as we don't open with them, I really like our chances.

4 Man Rotation
Because they weren't using him at all. There was a stretch where he pitched twice in a month. Since he went to Anaheim and they started using him, he has been good for them.

Ah, we've got some old guys for members... They must be taking an off day with the Sox There are plenty more Beatle fans out there. When I get home tonight I will try to remember to post at least the top 10 song that we came up with. It would be interesting to see everyone else's top 10's for the Beatles...
