The Tampa Bay Devil Rays placed pitcher Jim Parque on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with tendinitis in his left shoulder. Parque allowed six runs, five hits and four walks in 1 2-3 innings of Tuesday's 8-7, 10 inning win over Baltimore. In his two starts, the left-hander has given up 13 runs, 12 hits and nine walks over 6 2-3 innings. To replace Parque, Tampa Bay selected right-hander Al Levine from Triple-A Durham. Parque underwent shoulder surgery in 2001. He was signed as free agent in January after going 1-4 with a 9.95 ERA in eight games with the Chicago White Sox last season.

The Tigers are already down 6-0 in the 3rd inning with Dee Brown hitting a grand slam. Jeremy Bonderman got pounded again for 5 runs.

It is going to be a long time coming if it ever happens. They have a lot of really bad contracts to recover from, the farm system has been robbed blind, and the attitude of the organization is just terrible as I understand it. Plus they have alienated most of the fans up there and attendance is terrible. Even if they can find the talent enough to start to win, I don' think that they can rebuild a fan base quickly enough to keep those players.

Oh and any list has to include Terry Bevington, for old times sake.

We seem to keep having a solid guy to give us middle relief so far this year. I wonder who it is going to be to step up and be able to pitch the 6th and 7th innings? I personally wish they would give Glover the shot at it. In the short time he was the middle man last year he was lights out. Give GG another shot until Flash or White prove that they can do the job still.
