is olivo catching today
God I hope it is Olivo. I think Josh is only here because we didn't want to lose him as an insurance policy. It looks like he will get about a start a week, plus pinchhitting and pinchrunning duties.

bullpen comparisions
http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/kurkjian_ti...im/1537033.html But the thing that jumped off of the page at me is that we are tied with the Yankees for the fewest amount of innings pitched by the bullpen.

Great CNN article
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/04/11/opinion/11JORD.html? pagewanted=print&position=topOver the last dozen years I made 13 trips to Baghdad to lobby the government to keep CNN's Baghdad bureau open and to arrange interviews with Iraqi leaders. Each time I visited, I became more distressed by what I saw and heard ? awful things that could not be reported because doing so would have jeopardized the lives of Iraqis, particularly those on our Baghdad staff. For example, in the mid-1990's one of our Iraqi cameramen was abducted. For weeks he was beaten and subjected to electroshock torture in the basement of a secret police headquarters because he refused to confirm the government's ludicrous suspicion that I was the Central Intelligence Agency's Iraq station chief. CNN had been in Baghdad long enough to know that telling the world about the torture of one of its employees would almost certainly have gotten him killed and put his family and co-workers at grave risk. Last December, when I told Information Minister Muhammad Said al-Sahhaf that we intended to send reporters to Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq, he warned me they would "suffer the severest possible consequences." CNN went ahead, and in March, Kurdish officials presented us with evidence that they had thwarted an armed attack on our quarters in Erbil. This included videotaped confessions of two men identifying themselves as Iraqi intelligence agents who said their bosses in Baghdad told them the hotel actually housed C.I.A. and Israeli agents. The Kurds offered to let us interview the suspects on camera, but we refused, for fear of endangering our staff in Baghdad. Then there were the events that were not unreported but that nonetheless still haunt me. A 31-year-old Kuwaiti woman, Asrar Qabandi, was captured by Iraqi secret police occupying her country in 1990 for "crimes," one of which included speaking with CNN on the phone. They beat her daily for two months, forcing her father to watch. In January 1991, on the eve of the American-led offensive, they smashed her skull and tore her body apart limb by limb. A plastic bag containing her body parts was left on the doorstep of her family's home. So what is more important at CNN ratings or people?

Cub fans defrauded by own team
Yeah if I remember right Sox fans had to purchase all 3 Cubs games as a package.

Pitching Rotations
I think if Garland pitched on Sunday he would be a day short of rest. He did end up throwing a fair amount of pitches, so I don't think that is possible.

Wings Lose!
Sounds like a great game to 3 OT's, wow. And Detroit lost!

What Kind of Laptop
I love my new Dell PC I got this last summer. If I had to get a lap top I would go through them again.

From Cleveland
The Twins really haven't impressed me either so far this year. Their offense has been just terrible this year so far. Couple that with our pitching preforming very well, except for a couple of exceptions, and I could see where that point of view would come from.

Some interesting numbers
They have boards that just discuss MSG?? If the Devil Rays can have a board, there can be a board for anything!
-
Some interesting numbers
and what can we learn from all of that?????? Nothing probably... I am just somewhat of a numbers person. I work in traders and one thing we really look at is the trends. As for baseball, I guess it is just conversation fodder. 2k i was bustin on ya.. didnt mean anything by it dont go getting all defensive about it...............ok........ I really wasn't upset! Man you think after being on msg boards as long as I have I could convey my intents a little better!

Some interesting numbers
-Cubs have struck out 29 times in the last two games -Detroit is the only team in history to start back to back seasons at 0-8 -KC is the first team in history to start out 8-0 after losing 100 games the previous year -Twins have scored 3 or less runs in 7 straight games

Court Humor
That was hilarious. And I would like to add a funny story to that. My wife, I, my brother, his wife, and my wifes best friend all went to the Sox Tigers game last Saturday. During the middle of the game, my wife's best friend turned to my wife and asked her "Is this game live?" She was asking if it was being played live on TV, but the question the way it was asked had us laughing for two innings!

got my seat assignment today
If you are talking about revenue from the gates of the all star game JR doesn't see a dime of that. That is all MLB's money. I am not sure about secondary revenues such as concessions and souveniers but those might go to MLB also. The only money JR is making from the ASG is through secondary sources such as higher season ticket base and higher ticket prices.

how bad have maggs - konerko - lee been???
im all for dumping lee...im not sure about konerko..but if we did what you suggest then that money better go towards picking up maggs option and resigning bartolo long term good question...if we could only afford to keep one..who would it be..konerko or colon??? btw..dominant damaso just finished of the 9 little indians Konerko is much more easily replacible. No question keep Bartolo.
