  1. For all the talk about Gload's great defense at 1st base, he seems to botch a few plays that allow run(s) to score. Man, Uribe has some power. Linedrive single off of 3B Figgins' glove.
  2. Well, in Gload's first AB he swung at the first pitch and made an easy out. And just now, he made a nice grab on a liner but terribly botched the throw to Broadway covering 1st base and a run scored.
  3. Yeah, I figured it out after I posted. Dye botched a deep fly off his glove. Runners at 2nd and 3rd, no outs.
  4. Ervin Santana, but there's not much of a difference when they are facing us.
  5. Wow, Hermanson that was UGLY. Straight fastball right down the pipe to Chone Figgins. 1-0 Angels.
  6. Indeed. Either Javier Lopez has pretty much won the job or KW is going to swing another trade. I believe so. I know that Munoz is out of options. Maybe KW did this now because he thinks he will be able to sneak Munoz through since other teams may not know what players they want to dump yet?
  7. DJ just said that KW has been after Cinton for awhile and has wanted him ever since he first saw him play with the Diamondbacks.
  8. Sour grapes cuz your team has Neifi who will probably start at 2nd base because of Dusty and we will have Cintron on our bench? Great post. Maybe we should call up Bucky Jacobsen and go with an entire bench of 1st basemen and DH's. They have better career OPS+'s afterall. Wow, this really holds true doesn't it?
  9. No offense, but do statheads even care about defense or what? Gload plays one position well and it's not a hugely important defensive position. We have two starting 1st basemen in our lineup and Mackowiak on the bench who can also play 1B. Gload CANNOT play the outfield. He is a damn butcher out there. A guy who can play SS, 2B, and 3B is more valuable to a bench than a backup 1st baseman, regardless of offense.
  10. Javier Vazquez gets a new fellow Puerto Rican buddy.
  11. I think it's a fleecing by the fact that Bajenaru is 28 years old. If Bajenaru was younger and had the same minor league numbers, I would probably think otherwise. Also, having seen Bajenaru pitch I'm shocked by his minor league numbers. From watching him, he throws that 91 MPH straight fastball far too much. I just don't think he will be too successful with that pitch. Good luck to him though.
  12. By the way, I think Gload just lost his job. KW must not like what he sees from Ozuna at SS.
  13. Wow, just wow. I was never a big Bajenaru fan but I thank him for having this type of trade value. I'm shocked he had enough value to get a guy like Cintron who can play SS, 2B, and 3B and is a borderline starter. Amazing trade by KW. Good luck to Bajenaru where he will definately have a bigger role with the Diamondbacks. By the way, Ozuna has an awesome contract in which he will earn $500,000 if he's on the big league club and only $320,000 in the minors. JimH predicted this one last year. It seems like KW gets the guys that he's interested in sooner or later. ESPN is reporting this on their "Bottom Line" so it's definately true.
  14. Greg Walker needs to give a lesson on laying off the low and away slider. That was our major weakness last season.
  15. Nope, I smell two high draft picks.
