Levine: Garland To Be Traded
He is supposed to have a pretty good sinker. Maybe he stopped using it as much or that Arizona air killed the effectiveness of it?

Levine: Garland To Be Traded
If Cooper can straighten out Vazquez, I think he will be a better pitcher than Garland. He has much better stuff and is a strikeout pitcher. Not every other team has the kind of insane infield defense that we had last season which saved Garland from giving up some runs. Vazquez will probably still struggle at the Cell like Garcia because he gives up too many flyballs though.

I remember him being a highly touted reliever. But I also remember Twins fans calling him Grant Ball-four.

Give me Duaner Sanchez over Brazoban, unless of course Cooper is confident that he can turn Brazoban around. He does throw 97 MPH afterall.

Strange how Rotoworld just posted this:

That's the part of your post that I agreed with.

Levine: Garland To Be Traded
KW was willing to overpay (at the time it was considered overpaying) for Garcia because he knew he could lock him up to a contract extension with the Ozzie factor.

Pods' health
I agree for the most part, although his raw postseason SB numbers show otherwise (6 SB, 3 CS; 66% success).

Levine: Garland To Be Traded
Great post. I agree 100%.

Pods' health
Podsednik was more than inefficient after the All-Star break. He probably hurt the team attempting to steal more than he helped (15 SB, 14 CS). Hopefully, he will be 100% healthy and back to stealing bases the way he did before the All Star break last season (44 SB, 9 CS).

Another reason why we are going to trade Garland now and not at the deadline.

Agreed, it was stupid of Podsednik to continue trying to steal bases when he came back from the DL. You could see him getting thrown out from a mile away.

Kyle Orton is going to be released any day now.

Levine: Garland To Be Traded
Yep, makes sense to me. Why would a team rather have half a season of Garland over a full season of him?

Levine: Garland To Be Traded
See the Mulder deal of last year and the Vazquez deal of this past week. You can still get a good return on a quality starting pitcher before the season begins.

It's pretty exciting, isn't it? Usually we are the ones trading prospects for proven players. Getting a couple young studs to replace Gonzalez and Haigwood would be nice.

Non-Tender Listing
The guys that I hope KW is looking at are Chad Bradford, Trever Miller, and Grant Balfour. The average reliever is just fluky from year to year so hopefully we could nab a couple of these guys on the cheap and they have nice seasons for us.

That would be scary. Check out his control. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/B/d...brazelton.shtml 5.05 BB/9 in the majors.

I think Willie will get a decent deal with another team as a backup or possibly platoon second baseman. The Cardinals have nothing good at second base right now (Aaron Miles ). Byrnes has played 320 games in LF, 134 games in CF, and 65 games in RF. He can play every outfield position, albeit poorly. He makes diving webgems because he usually gets horrible jumps.

Kolb is a Boras client and the reason the Brewers couldn't strike a deal with him is because he wanted too much money. He will not be coming to the White Sox.

I would be happy with both Bradford and Miller on cheap deals. Wasn't Jamal Strong busted for steroids? Yep, here it is... http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=sea
