  1. I agree with you. Trade Garland now and get max value for him. He obviously wants to get a monster contract after 2006 and McCarthy is ready for the rotation anyways. We can just re-sign Contreras to a modest 3-year deal and still have a solid rotation for the next couple years: Buehrle Garcia Contreras Vazquez McCarthy Still looks damn good to me. Get max value for Garland now.
  2. I keep watching the postseason video clips here: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/schedule/ps_05.jsp I also watch the great videos that posters here made.
  3. Haha, he must have made a little mistake. Crede would be sent to the Rangers with Garland for Blalock and Wilkerson. Podsednik LF Wilkerson CF Konerko 1B Thome DH Dye RF Blalock 3B Iguchi 2B Pierzynski C Uribe SS Not like this trade is going to happen anyways though.
  4. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5173568 Wow, Arizona's expectations sure went down quickly. Javier Vazquez & Jose Valverde for Brad Lidge & Chris Burke to Javier Vazquez for El Duque, Luis Vizcaino, and Chris Young
  5. Thanks, maybe that's why I wrote a disclaimer to start the thread out.
  6. Take this rumor with a grain of salt since it's from MLBTradeRumors.com: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2005/12/astros_update_g.html
  7. "Crediocre" -- greatest catch-phrase ever.
  8. Doh, I forgot that he had signed with a Japanese team last season.
  9. Disturbing. Just think about how many other dudes you are tongueing when you do this. :puke
  10. I guess it wasn't a bad question afterall.
  11. Podsednik (lefty) Iguchi (righty) Thome (lefty) Konerko (righty) Blalock (lefty) Dye (righty) Pierzynski (lefty) Uribe (righty) Anderson (righty) You could swap Uribe and Anderson.
  12. Someone should close this thread. We are all probably losing brain cells from reading it.
  13. Well, it doesn't matter much either way. We wouldn't trade for him solely because of the Boras factor.
  14. Because this is how the Royals have operated for years. They continue to sign washed-up veterans to start for them instead of just playing prospects at every position. It really makes no sense either. They are going to lose anyways. Why not see what your prospects can do?
  15. In 2003, the Red Sox claimed Bronson Arroyo from the Pirates off waivers. The Pirates also gave up Aramis Ramirez for trash that year. But they also got Jason Bay and Oliver Perez for Brian Giles that season. Crazy stuff.
  16. http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...xt=.jsp&c_id=kc WORLD SERIES, HERE THEY COME!!!
  17. Garland for Hank Blalock and Crede for John Grabow and Solomon Torres would be amazing but I'm not sure how likely it is.
  18. Edwin Jackson has pitched like garbage. No thanks.
  19. Agreed. If 41 year old Kenny Rogers and his 84 MPH fastball got a 2-year, $16 million contract, I'm quite sure 29 year old Javier Vazquez with great stuff would have received AT LEAST 3-years, $30 million.
  20. Hermanson will earn $3 million in 2006. I guess he's relatively cheap when compared to all of these new deals that relievers are signing this offseason. But he won't be cheap if he misses time due to his bad back.
  21. But wouldn't the Angels be better off waiting a year and just signing him? That's the question. Being a west coast team, they would have the inside track on signing Garland if he really wanted to move closer to home. I sure wouldn't mind a trade of Garland for Scot Shields and prospects though.
